This was my most recent visit of many to Omori Izakaya! The food is consistently delicious and the fish very fresh. We split the salmon don, Alaska maki, and makimono combo. The spicy tuna this time brought the heat and balanced well with the sweet crazy maki roll. The miso soup was not as flavorful as I remembered but everything else was perfect. The izakaya salad is free at dinner which tastes like yummy pickled cabbage in sesame oil. Conveniently located right by the T stop in Brookline Village.

Cozy, spacious and welcoming is what I feel when I entered for a Christmas Eve lunch. The staff are knowledgeable and efficient. We ordered the lunch menu and it was affordable and scrumptious. The sushi was good and the portions are generous. I hope to come back and try their cooked food and other items in the future. Would recommend also for large groups as they have the space. Street parking available outside.

We went on a Friday night and it was pretty busy, but the service was still quick. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, which is a nice option. Everything came out efficiently, and our favorite dish was the hotate kaiyaki--definitely a standout. Would come back!

The Osaka roll wasn't what I was expecting it to be at all. The shrimp was bite sizes and to me personally from eating sushi all over the country isn't worth the money at all. The waitresses was so confused I didn't bother asking their names because they was both getting the tables mixed up. It has a Japanese style ambiance but the place is not a place I will visit again. I actually ate here before but had a salad and a simple roll which wasn't bad so I figured I try it again and order a big specialty roll. It wasn't a good choice.

Food was just ok so my friend and I didn't think it was worth the price. Would rate this place 3.5 stars but rounded up because service was ok. What we got - - omakase for 2 - gyutan - hotate kaiyaki - uni nigiri

Unbelievably overhyped and disappointing place with poor quality. I appreciate the nice service and convenient location, but the food was a huge miss : 1) chicken karage: the only dish that met my expectations of the night. Tender inside but some pieces have an over cooked and chewy /not crispy outside 2) beef tongue: so chewy and over cooked that my jaw was sore afterwards 3) chicken skin skewer: absurdly over fried flavorless and bitter chicken skin, ridiculous far from what I had at other Japanese restaurants; 4) sushi: bad, bad, bad!!!!! Uni was extremely fishy, fish was not fresh, sushi rice was not rice, and even the presentation was terrible - the fish was so unevenly placed as pictured I felt like a fool after spending almost a hundred bucks here for such poor food. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else for a good izakaya- not here!!

Omori Izakaya is a pub-style restaurant. The highlight for me is the Omakase for 2. The sashimi was so fresh and delicious. Absolutely worth the price. Definitely would love to come back.

Went here with friends and all the sushi was very fresh! The sashimi was delicious and good quality. The portions were very healthy also. The grilled squid was definitely a highlight that I recommend. Also the drinks were great and so cheap!

    Chicken katsu lunch special

Very solid. Liked the ambiance and the lunch special chicken katsu I got wasn't dry. Miso soup was like any other place though. Would get with the pickled appetizer if I got it again.

Really fresh sushi at an affordable price!!! The inside of the restaurant has a cute ambiance and decor; the outside is a little confusing to me because they still have Christmas lights and decorations up (as of mid February). Although I am pretty festive, this feels like a lazy move. Service felt a little rushed; stopped by every minute to ask for our order, and delivered the bill before we had even decided if we wanted more drinks or dessert. However they did treat us to an appetizer. I tried the steamed gyoza, spicy tuna roll, and the otoro and wagyu nigiri. The spicy tuna roll was large (and filling) and the nigiri were fresh and unique flavor- the wagyu was my favorite!

Waited months for my next visit to Boston to try this place! Arrived at 5pm and was seated promptly. Loved our Omakase! Hotate was VERY filling. Tako yaki was perfect. Skewers were slightly on the saltier side. Everything was delicious and fresh! So glad we tried this place and can't wait to be back!

Anyway we were excited having never been before! The space is not only huge, but also there's a whole another floor upstairs with the event room called the "Squirrel Den" - where they had the comedy show!! Downstairs they have plenty of seating plus the bar and even live music. You can also see the barrels of the whole brewery which adds to the ambience with the metallic shine. The comedy show was fun - a series of standup comics - fun night! The stage wall is essentially a mural of a bunch of beer cans art so it really compliments the space. There is a bar at the back too and restrooms within the room itself so very convenient. Downstairs there's also a shuffle board where we spent some time playing afterwards. Restrooms downstairs too plus a water filling station which I was very pleasantly surprised to see. The hubs ordered the blood orange cloud candy beer - he thought it was nice a metallic IPA, buzzy. Our friend had several drinks - not sure all the names but one of them was the Oktoberfest. Service was good, one of the comedians actually checked us into the room. And he even graciously took our photo for plus. He was hilarious! Overall a good time and we'll be back for sure!
