My bf ordered a slice of cheese and I ordered their Italian flag slice which was Bianca style with tomatoes and spinach. We also ordered a side of meatballs to share. I wasn't a big fan of the meatballs; they were on the dry side for my preference and I didn't care for the sauce. My bf enjoyed them. The pizza was really good! The middle of the pizza isn't as stiff as the rest, so the slices do droop. Cheese is flavorful and greasy. Sauce is a normal good amount, not too much to where you taste it. The crust is cooked well, flavor wise it's a mix of homemade and bready. The crust itself is crispy and chewy. Not too chewy though. Good amount of bubbling all over as well. The service was awful. When I got there it took a while to get in a drink order. Then it took almost 30 minutes to get 2 slices of pizza. It's sad when people in your group can order, get their order cooked, then get their order and eat half of it by the time I get my order that just needed to get out in a plate and served. Then I ordered a cannoli and almost got my bill by the time I received it to eat. Last t i g on the food, be prepared for grease. I get it, it's a pizza place and grease is to be expected, however, if you can point your pizza towards the plate and grease run off like water from a spigot. Went in today around noon to order two slices of pepperoni for lunch. Waited and waited and saw a woman who came in after me get served her order first. By then 20 minutes had passed and I was on a time constraint due to lunch. I pointed out to the staff that I ordered before the woman who was just served and it turns out they didn't even have my order on the computer. The manager had to manually input the order. Finally got the pizza about 10 minutes later -- which by the way was cheese, no pepperoni and by then I only had five minutes to scarf it down and I didn't have time to ask them to give me the correct order. It was toward the end of the lunch rush so while busy it wasn't crazy busy. Our waiter came over quickly took our order but wrote nothing down. We ordered a cheese calzone, a chicken parm sub, a hot Italian sub and an order of fried mushrooms The calzone arrived as did the hot Italian sub, no mushrooms and a cold chicken wrap. The waiter took the wrap away, said he'd get the chicken parm & the mushrooms. About 15 mins later still no parm or mushrooms. We told the waiter not to bother with either. He said he'd have the sub packed to go & take it off the bill. The mushrooms finally arrived and the parm on a plate and the bill with the parm sub on it. *Review based solely on take-out/pick up!* Since moving downtown, Granby Street Pizza has become one of our favorite spots. In a couple months, we've picked up dinner from here at least 6 or 7 times! It doesn't hurt that it's literally a minute walk away from us. It is on Granby Street, beside Brick Anchor Brew House (corner of Granby & W. Tazewell.) I personally have not been inside, it is always hubby picking it up. They serve everything from apps, pizza of course, subs, and my favorite - their PASTA. It's under "Italian favorites" on their menu. Portions are wonderful - always a great sharing size, especially their pasta. The first time we ordered (Hubby got Chicken Cacciatore & and I got Chicken Piccata) we each definitely had enough for dinner that night, and delicious lunch the next day. I'm all about having good leftovers! You also get a salad with each pasta dish. We have had their calamari, chicken tenders, pizza topped with salami, Chicken Pesto Toscano, and Penne a la Vodka, with chicken and mushrooms. All very flavorful and cooked to perfection. The prices are average, not bad at all for being in the downtown area; you definitely get a lot of bang for your buck! Price range for pasta is $11-15, $15 being the shrimp dishes. Definitely a fan, and I know we will continue to get our Italian fix here! You can dine in, pick up, or get your goodies delivered! Placed a take out order through their website; was easy and was secure -- even offered options to pay upon pick up which was very helpful. If placing a pick up order, I recommend driving with someone who can drop you off since it's on the main strip in downtown Norfolk and stream parking is limited. We ordered the veggie pizza and it was very good. The crust gets a little tough the following day and if I order again I'll probably choose the thin crust option. Garlic knots were also pretty good and come with plenty of marina sauce. We did pay for ranch and it wasn't included in our packaging for pick up. Unfortunately for us, I didn't realize it until we were already home. So, if you pay for add ons like this for a pick up order, I strongly recommend checking for everything before leaving the restaurant. Also, we know 1/2 and 1/2s aren't an exact science, but the toppings were a bit ridiculous. Spinach all over the deluxe side, veggie was only 3 pieces instead of half... and there was a lot of meat in the veggie side that I spent time picking out.
