I've driven by this place hundreds of times and finally came in for lunch. They have a giant menu but we went with the vegetarian pizza and cans of soda. The pizza is good, a solid choice like you might get in a small town pizzeria. Not at all greasy. It's not wood-fired, but it's ok. The soda was $1. Nice. Ambiance is low-key, homey in a way. I'm originally from NYC, and the classic NY slice is, hands down, one of the best creations in the history of the US. So naturally, I'm more critical when it comes to pizza. First off, I do not eat pizza from Pizza Hut, Domino's, Papa John's, or Little Caeser's; I absolutely refuse! Lol That being said, I discovered Golden Pizza by accident. One day, I was craving pizza, so I looked through Door Dash and I saw a picture of a Golden Pizzeria pie and the cheese pull looked amazing. So, I decided to get a medium pie, with my usual go-to toppings of olives, mushrooms and extra cheese! Pizza arrived nice and hot still, and I really liked how it wasn't too greasy either. Everything from the crust, to the toppings, and the pizza as a whole was cooked perfectly. They didn't skimp out on the cheese too, which I really liked! I must say, Golden Pizzeria was quite a surprise. I thoroughly enjoy eating their pizzas! Subsequent pizza orders from here have all been delicious! Of course, this doesn't compare to what NYC has to offer, but for a local pizza in Norfolk, not bad at all! :D I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants an alternative to the usual fast food pizza favorites like Pizza Hut and Papa John's. read more

I remember driving by this place one time after a coworker got home. I was wondering what the food was like. Now, I got a chance to say that I went there and enjoyed some pizza. When it comes to the downsides, the atmosphere and the way the restaurant is set up is a negative, in my opinion. First, the dining area is really small, with only two available tables to sit on and eat. I know it is for take outs, but I feel like they could open the dining area a bit more. Covid is still a problem, but I feel like they could make more money if they open and work on renovating the dining area a bit more. Another thing I want to say is that it did look a but run down, and the stickers on it felt a little childish. Those factors do not mean they are a bad restaurant. The customer service I got at the place was really good. The person at the front desk was very nice by informing me that I could sit to enjoy my pizza and even checked on me. There were some conversations between coworkers, but I do not feel like there are any serious problems here. For the pizza, I got the Special Pizza. Before I came here, I read some reviews about the pizza here tasting worse than frozen pizza at a commissary. Honestly, I disagree because it tasted good by my standards. The dough did taste a little stale, but I was able to finish it. My food had quite a lot of interesting flavors on it from the Anchovies to the sweet peppers on it. Overall, I can understand if people do not like this place. I find that the food is pretty alright when it comes to the pizzas. It might not be recommended if you're looking for pizza from another town, but it is a pretty good pizza place for its area. Me and my husband decided to have pizza tonight and was really looking forward to getting it. We've been to this pizzeria plenty of times and it usually delivers. However, we ordered our pizza to be delivered to our house and our pizza was cold. We called the pizzeria to see if they would make any accommodation due to the lack of inconvenience. We were told that we couldn't get any accommodations. We asked to speak to the manager and the manager wasn't there but the owner was there. The owner declined to speak with us about his establishment and told us to wait till tomorrow to speak with his manager whereas the manager wouldn't be able to do anything as well. So being this is how they treat their customers who regularly buys from their establishment is so sickening. I will never go to this pizzeria nor will I ever tell people about this pizzeria. Ordered from Golden Pizzeria yesterday. Registering on their website offered 15% off for new customers, so I jumped on that deal. Got a large Gourmet Italian, Garlic Knots, Sm Greek Salad, and a slice of NY Cheesecake. Total came to roughly $32 plus tax/tip. Delivery was fast, and delivery guy was very polite. It seems they use a bit of a sweeter sauce, almost like a vodka sauce, but it's still very good. It isn't sweet enough to taste bad. Just pleasantly different. The garlic knots were tasty. The salad was fantastic. The slice of cheesecake was great. Overall, great experience! Will order from again as well as recommend to my coworkers and friends. read more

Terrible experience. I've never eaten here before but someone mentioned they like this place so I ordered a large special pizza with half cheese with calamari for our group. I do not eat meat for medical reasons. I received a medium special pizza with no calamari. When I called to get this dealt with I was told that they did indeed give me the correct order and I was mistaken even though I was looking right at it. I cannot eat this food so I am thoroughly pissed off that not only did they ruin my order but they would not even apologize or get me another order. I went in on my way home close to their closing, and after closing my own restaurant. Not the average pizzeria, no slices out or anything prepped and out. I asked about slices and prepare food as I didn't want to inconvenience the kitchen. The owner ( guess) jumped in to tell me that everything was fresh and cooked to order. (Not the question) Her employee told her that I was simply trying not to have them cook after they've shut down. She claims it's fine so I order baked ziti with sausage. Easy........ right? I get home to find that I have received overcooked pasta and marinara sauce covered in a thick layer of mozzarella cheese. No ricotta, and the sausage while tasty was not Italian sausage and I was not three dollars worth of it. Incredibly disappointing I brought it back to the restaurant the next morning. I explained to the owner that the pasta was over cooked it was sitting in marinara sauce there was no ricotta and the sausage was not Italian sausage. I am a lady who loves her pizza. Normally I get supreme, more times than not I get pepperoni but my all-time favorite is cheese. I was on Door Dash and loved the cheese pizza pic I saw and decided to try the pizza. I ordered a large cheese pizza with extra cheese and added ricotta for extra flavor and texture. I also ordered a slice of german chocolate cake. The pizza was okay but even though I added extra cheese they didn't add enough. The sauce on the pizza was virtually flavorless which I guess is preferable to not good but if a company has a milder flavored sauce they should probably offer garlic as a topping and offer Italian seasoning packets which make up for the lack of flavor. The pizza was super hot when it got here, cheese was gooey so that's a huge plus. The crust was also tasty and wasn't overbaked like some restaurants seem to like to do. I understand cooking to brown is considered "rustic" but I don't find hard brown crust charming. This was a nice light golden brown. Perfect crust. The cake wasn't good at all. No flavor except for the chocolate icing. Overall I think this place is okay. read more

We've only ever done delivery, and they're very prompt and polite. You can track your order and know where it's at, when it leaves the store, and when it's headed to you. I am so excited to have found this place! The food is great and the prices are very reasonable. The 'slice' of pizza is a huge square, the baked ziti was smothered in mozzarella cheese and my husband said his Philly cheese steak was delicious. My son ordered the mega fries and we thought at first it was pasta because they were smothered in mozzarella cheese, with cheddar and bacon underneath. I got the baked shells and German chocolate cake. The shells weren't that good I didn't like the abundance of cheese they melted on top. It was so much cheese and so thick that when I tried to get a stuffed shell it would crumble into pieces. I threw out my meal. Ordered for years at both home addresses and the salon but for some reason tonight they mixed up a grilled chicken salad with oil and vinegar for a large chicken salad. I have a strict diet I explained I couldn't eat it to which she said you can get another salad but you'll pay for it. I paid the $12 and change and now I'll wait for a new delivery but before I could even say thank you after paying her again she hung up in my ear. I've never had a problem but tonight is rough especially since I've got the worst migraine and just want to eat and lay down. She was not very empathetic and didn't seem to care at all. I have been ordering from this place for years. And over the years the quality of food is declining, not to mention the customer service. I ordered online today Baked Ziti and 2 Large Greek Salads. When my order arrived, saw my Baked Ziti....but I saw two salads that had ZERO feta cheese. After all since im paying $7.45 per greek salad, I would like to see feta cheese on it.
