I came here on a weeknight because there really aren't many Chinese buffets left in the area, and this was the closest one with a 4-star rating on Google. We arrived around 7:00 PM and were seated immediately, which was a nice start. The first thing I noticed, though, was that many of the tongs and serving spoons at the buffet were sticky. It was pretty gross and definitely didn't make a great first impression. I tried a little bit of everything, and overall the food was just...okay. It wasn't terrible, but it definitely wasn't anything special. The lo mein had a strange flavor that wasn't what I'm used to from Chinese restaurants. The Alfredo sauce on the mussels was an odd choice and didn't work for me. The stuffed mushrooms seemed to be mostly breading with a little cheese. The calamari was probably the best thing I ate all night. The dessert selection was disappointing. They have a freezer with individually packaged "ice cream" cups, but it's really more of a frozen dairy dessert than actual ice cream. The texture and flavor weren't good, and after looking at the ingredients (nonfat milk, corn syrup, and whey protein), it made sense why. I honestly think an actual soft-serve ice cream machine would improve the dessert experience quite a bit. Other dessert options included cookies, Nutty Buddy bars, and a strange mint mousse/fluff in little cups that looked pretty unappealing. We skipped the hibachi, so I can't comment on that. I also wasn't impressed with the sushi--it looked like grocery store sushi that had simply been put out on the buffet. Dinner for two came to about $36, which seems pretty standard for a weeknight Chinese buffet and was a fair price. The other thing that was disappointing was there was no music playing and I think it really would've created a better ambience if there was some Chinese music playing in the background. Staff was very attentive. We were asked about refills and they also were quick to clean the dirty plates off of our table. Overall, I'd describe the experience as just "mid." Nothing was bad enough to make me upset, but nothing stood out enough to make me want to come back. If they improved the sushi, upgraded the desserts, and paid more attention to cleanliness around the buffet utensils, I think it would make a big difference. It doesn't take much to please me when it comes to Chinese Buffets. I just want a decent variety, for the food to be at least half good, and a reasonable price. We got one out of three here. Grand Buffet is quite small and has a below average selection. The food was mostly not great (even by buffet standards). This place just seemed to miss the mark. The one positive is the prices were better than most Chinese Buffets. If you're in the area and want quick and cheap food, you might get enough bang for your buck here. Grand buffet is in a shopping center, kind of easy to miss. The inside looks like a standard Chinese restaurant. Not many folks inside. Maybe 30 tables, about 5 tables occupied. NO ONE speaks English here. Everyone is friendly though. Employees quickly remove the soiled plates from your table. There are 3 rows of food. One cold (jello, fruit, shrimp). The 2 hot rows contain various chickens (Thai, sweet sour, general T, black pepper), only pepper beef, plain/fried rice, some shrimp dishes. Don't get the dumplings. Some appetizers are in the center of the buffet. Looks ok, but taste suspect. Soups include wonton, hot and sour, and some other one. Sushi is included in the buffet. When I asked the lady what they are, she didn't understand and said "many sushi". All have some type of meat. No vegetable ones. I ate it and didn't get sick. I saw some with crab, some with tuna, some with miscellaneous. The aforementioned warrant 2 stars. However 4 stars goes to the habachi which is included in the buffet. That made the $13 worth it. Put raw ingredients on the plate and the cook prepares it right there! I didn't notice this until I ate four plates of the other marginal buffet food. What was I thinking? This is where it's at! I will come again for the hibachi, but not for that other stuff. I think the chef can only accommodate two or three people at a time, so this is not a place to bring your 37 relatives. read more

We eat here now as a family of five (2 toddlers/baby) and only spend around $35 for lunch! The staff is also so patient and kind to the kids. The food is typical Chinese takeout with some fresh seafood and sushi options. Side hibachi service. Nothing spectacular but definitely satisfying. My daughter keeps dragging me out to eat here... some times we come the food is hot, fresh and tastes so good, and others not so much.. today was one of those not so great days. The food wasn't really hot, they weren't restocking with fresher foods and the food didn't taste good. Glad we came for lunch so it was cheaper, but I really need to stop coming here. The last 3 hours since eating there my stomach has been making some strange gargling sounds I've never heard before and I've been barfing up the terrible taste of the food in my throat since we ate there at 4pm today. After saying you won't see me again, I stopped again. Food was good, and for the most part on a busy Saturday they were keeping the buffet filled. I usually eat the cost of the buffet in peel & eat shrimp. Anything else is a bonus. With the tip I spend just over $12, about what I would spend at fast food or a diner. I came here because of the good reviews and decided to give this place a try. I came in and the restaurant and it was somewhat small but that was ok for me. I got seated in a booth and the booth had duct tape all over it. It wasn't a small patch either. Both sides had more than half of the seat covered in duct tape which was coming off. I got the hibachi, sushi, and some other food. The hibachi was great, the sushi was ok, everything else was ok as well. Also on top of that since the hibachi was good I wanted to get hibachi again only to find the hibachi was closed at 7:30 prime dinner time. No sign no nothing that says it closes. However the service is not good either as the waitress we had only checked up on us once in the beginning and we had to ask for our waters to get filled. I would not recommend this place, the only thing that saved this place is the hibachi. read more

Pretty good for a typical Chinese restaurant, but not the best. The food was pretty good, especially the honey chicken and the buttered potatoes, but it wasn't amazing. Some of it was kind of flavorless, though, like the fried rice and the salmon. A lot of the food was pretty generic. This is my favorite Chinese buffet in the area. I have been coming here for years. In my opinion, they have the best selection of food compared to others. I don't think the selection is quite as big, however they have most of the items I go for like...general Tsos, crab salad, sushi options, and the best Crab Rangoon's I've ever had. Unfortunately, they have stopped doing crab legs during dinner hours. But that's most likely due to COVID, and is understandable. They even lowered their prices on Sundays. Before it used to be dinner prices all day, but now it's lunch prices earlier in the day, and my friends and I go almost every Sunday now. Lastly, I see other reviews saying the food is all fake seafood and horrible. Personally, I don't expect most Chinese buffets to have extremely high quality for food the cheap price your paying. If you want authentic, real Chinese/seafood then go to a fancy expensive restaurant. This place has good tasting, Americanized Chinese comfort food and I'm all for it. read more

Grand Buffet has been around for awhile. I've been to this suburban restaurant many times, both for lunch and dinner. It's in a large shopping center with plenty of easy parking. Their buffet offers your typical choices, like lo mein and fried rice, is clean, and has a tasty, slightly greasified hot and sour soup that I like. Last I checked, they offered a full menu to order from, but I've never tried that. But why bother, since their buffet will feed you silly, and on the cheap which probably explains why they're usually crowded. Stop by if you're in the mood for Chinese. read more

The reviews were misleading as this is a basic ordinary buffet joint with a very limited selection of food. The quality of the food is weak in that the fried rice tasted old and unflavored and the meats tasted dry and stale. When we got there all of the food was cold. We ended up not saying anything and eating again. I got up to go to the bathroom and there was a big dead roach by the ice cream and another squished baby roach by the mens bathroom. We ended up not finishing our food and when we had shown the lady the roaches she said the exterminator comes once a month and that its probably the weather. Thats definitely not something you should say to a customer because it obviously happens often with the "weather". Had my 4 year old son with us and he was even disgusted and yelled that someone needs to clean the thing up. I will never come back or recommend this place to anyone read more

Stopped here at approximately 1845 tonight before heading back home (3.5 hour drive). Food was fresh, hot and quite tasty. No complaints about any of the buffet food we ate. Two and a half plates and I was extremely full. Will definitely go back if in the area. Only complaint would be that I would prefer paper towels in the restroom so that after washing and drying your hands, a paper towel can be used to open the door (sanitary aspect). read more

So I should of read the most recent reviews for this place before I went. Because I really feel robbed. Money down the drain. My 2 daughters and my bf had the same opinion on the food. Not many options and the food was either to sweet or to salty or just tasteless. A lot of things were out to long, so it became hard and dry (like the noodles and rice). The staff was ok. But they kept starting at us and our table but that could be because so much food remained on the plate after we tasted it. Although at one point I don't know if we were being delusional because it had about 8 more tables seemingly enjoying the food‍. We will not return here at all. I sat down ordered and went to the buffet, and I had my drink when I returned. I went again to the buffet and my drink was replenished my drink and gave me a clean fork and spoon!
