I loved everthing about this place except that I had to remove 1 star for the tiny bathroom. I have a physical disability and just "graduated" from a walker to a cane. If I was still using the walker, I would not have fit through the door, let alone if I was a wheelchair user. The food was delicious with lots of choices on the varied menu. read more

Hard to find a breakfast that isn't drenched in grease. Grand cafe offers a healthy yet delicious alternative to the usual fried breakfast choice. Everything here is made in house and the two owners are always on the scene to make sure everyone is satisfied. Had the omelette wrap and our table had the avocado sandwich. Both came with a green salad with a delicious vinaigrette dressing. For dessert we had one of the cakes prepared by the bakery next door, again all made in house. They have a good menu with photos which makes it easy to order and plenty of outdoor seating. The service team is not managed well, once seated we had wait a half hour and get up to ask 3 times for water. The food didn't come out at the same time, the pizza was over baked with the cheese burnt and crust like cardboard, the tuna melt arrived last and was missing the cheese, so we had to send it back. Service is non existent, there are 4 servers that can be seen congregating around the hostess area and no onee is checking up on the tables too see if we need anything. I hate leaving negative reviews but I feel it's important for the owner to implement better management and leadership, and perhaps a basic training manual for your staff. They seem nice and friendly but seem to not have any basic protocol.. Unless you hire people with experience working in a good quality restaurant they will need some guidance. read more

This is a very nice neighborhood restaurant in the Emerald Hills area of Hollywood . One note , this is a Kosher restaurant so it is closed on Saturday for Sabbath. The dishes are original and fresh and each one is good. Our server Joey is extremely nice and attentive . We have dined here many times and he is always in a good mood. read more

I've been excited to try this place because of all the rave reviews, but unfortunately, it did not impress me. It wasn't bad, but it was anticlimactic for me because of all of my expectations. First, I walked up, by myself, after a long day at the gym and school. I just wanted to grab some coffee while Florida still had what we consider a "cold front" and do some studying and relaxing outside. These two girls were legitimately staring at me from the moment I walked up, to the moment I sat down. It was extremely uncomfortable to the point that I felt like they were burrowing into my soul. They were customers, so I normally wouldn't mention that, seeing as it's not the restaurants fault, but I have a suspicion they either are friends of the restaurant or one of them was there on an off day because they talked pretty friendly to the employees and waitresses. Anyways, I ended up ordering a chai latte (according to the waitress it's "Christmas in a cup!") and a pizza bagel. I've never been a fan of chai but I took her word for it and it was not bad. If you like that kind of thing, coffee would've been the most redeeming factor. The pizza bagel was very good for the first 3 bites, but it's one of those things that you can only eat for so long until it just gets...well...boring? I guess, for lack of a better word. I saved it to eat later and I still ended up not eating it at home. Weird. It wasn't bad, like I said, but just not for me, plus it was $10. This place is pricey. They do, however, have wi-fi, which the waitress was nice about providing. Overall I would've given it 2.0-2.5 stars but one of the waitresses up'd it for me. (NOTE: I am a server so customer service is important to me) One of them was extremely bubbly and nice and was adamant about making my experience more comfortable. She was actually behind the counter when I first walked in and put me at ease after the old west staredown I experienced outside. The other waitress...eh...she was slower and I thought she was rude at first because I would say "Thank You" or ask her for things politely and she would just not talk to me. Like ever. But I am going to give her the benefit of the doubt and assume it was a language barrier. Anyways, not bad, but not great. If it weren't so pricey, maybe I'd give it another go, but $10 for just a bagel is not my thing. Maybe I'll come back for the coffee and the wi-fi. read more

Found this place on Yelp when I was looking for a place to do some work and get something to eat. When I arrived I thought this probably wasn't going to work out because they have waitress, it's not a walk up counter. To my surprise they actually have a whole room dedicated to people who want to do this type of thing! I was able to work in quiet room (with music) for several hours. The waitress comes in to take your order and whatnot but doesn't bother you any more often than needed. It was perfect because I got to do what I needed to do without feeling like I was taking up one of her tables. Every time I asked them something the answer was I don't know or I don't think so! Super unknowledgeable staff there! Nobody offer me to refill my glass of water ever! Came here for lunch as I needed a place with wifi to work while my car was worked on. The place has lots of covered outdoor seating, but fills up quickly by lunchtime. I ordered the grilled veggie sandwich. It was tasty, but it was described as having a variety of grilled vegetables on it. That variety consisted of grilled eggplant and roasted red peppers. I was a little disappointed that the 'variety' didn't at least have a third vegetable, maybe zucchini or squash would have been a good addition. Still it was very filling and came with a side salad that did have a good variety of vegetables. I also had an ice coffee and that I was even more disappointed in. It was so watered down that I wish I had skipped it. Ironic that I left my car dealership in search of a place with better wifi and coffee, but only found the better wifi. Honestly I am mortified about the prices at this place. I mistakenly ordered a mixed dips appetizer that was $13.95! Maybe I would have been ok with spending that much had it been a generous size. What I got was a small portion of guacamole, hummus and labane dip.. I asked the waitress if the orange juice was fresh squeezed- she said yes however I saw her pour it from a carton and the small cup was almost $5! Complete and utter rip off a meal. I also got a garbanzo salad for $11.95 which was delicious and pretty big... The waitress brought me a quinoa salad at first which was a mistake.. frankly, I am pissed that I spent over $30 on a mediocre meal... We hadn't been to Grand Cafe since we moved two years ago. It was busy when we were there in Thursday April 15, 2021. We were surprised to see the same menus - which looked very worn- being used . In the age of Covid this was surprising . The salads we ordered were large, and looked good. Dressings were tasteless. When we mentioned it, cruets of vinegar and oil were placed on the table ... not so sure this was Covid appropriate.
