Grand Cafe is continually updating their menu to include more choices and quality and service are always top notch, even after 1 am when we ended up there with a group of 8 people!! Close to Ft. Lauderdale airport so if you are landing and want a meal or heading out and want a meal, take a quick detour for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Indoor and outdoor seating. I think this place is "relatively" good and I mean relative. For me the experience was not good. Starting with my American coffee which was tepid, ending with a falsely advertised breakfast meal that should have had roasted red peppers, was instead filled with tomatoes, no red pepper in site. On the positive side, their bagel sandwiches and pita sure seem to be a hit with my husband and, (he's from that region) I can agree. The service is mediocre and slow. I went with my roommate to grab a quick and healthy bite to eat but we ended up grabbing a hot coco and hummus to go because we hadn't realized there's no meat. Not that we dislike vegetarian places but every once in awhile you just crave chicken. The hummus was watery, I'll attach a picture to my review and it wasn't served with pita, it was served with toast.... The menu said pita so it was kind of random. The flavor was also rather bland, not horrible but not worth getting again. The watery and liquid consistency was very off putting though. My hot cocoa was very yummy though and it was nice to see actual milk and real chocolate mixed in. I suppose I would go there again for drinks and my roomie says he'll try breakfast another day. I am very familiar with the area as I grew up in the neighborhood. I can truly say that Grand Cafe is the best option around town. The food is always extremely fresh and consistent. There are many options on the menu for every one in your party. My favorite breakfast is the omelet wrap with the fresh Israeli salad. The coffees are great and they always take their time to draw latte art. Also, the cheesecake dessert is 100% worth the calories. :) The owner is super attentive and made sure that our experience was amazing. Every time on my way to the beach, I find myself curious of Grand Cafe. Eventually, I decided to try it after reading all the reviews. This place is pretty average to me. My friend and I walked in on a Tuesday afternoon and ordered a fruit salad and a pesto panini sandwich, with no tomatoes in the salad. The young waitress we had was very serious, and didn't seem to care much about customers. She would keep the same expression, a half smile, each time coming to our table even though I would give a genuine smile back. A little weird. For a fruit salad it was about $8, affordably plain. Maybe we expected too much for a simple fruit salad, but all we saw were cantalope, honey dew, and grapes with yogurt on the side. Nothing different. The fruits didn't seem fresh. The sandwich was ok, not insanely delicious. It was a very interesting taste. They added goat cheese and sauteed mushrooms to it, so I had a mix of thick cheese and bitter mushrooms. I was a little confused by it, but the panini bread was very crunchy yet soft which I liked. The salad needed to be tossed because it seemed like they put a bunch of leaves ontop of a plate, and then drizzled a little sauce ontop. Very uneven. Their water tasted like tap water...hmm. We used the Yelp check-in to score a free cup of coffee. Really awesome offer of them. But I'm really happy it was free, because it was very bitter. Nice design, beautiful creamy texture, but the actual taste of the coffee seemed chemical-like. After 10 minutes when I left, it was not making my tummy happy. The coffee is overrated, it has potential but maybe they should invest in new coffee/espresso grounds. Our bill totaled to about $22. We made an unplanned stop here for dinner during our vacation to the Fort Lauderdale area. Not a great experience. The waffles were small and undercooked. My daughter's entree salad initially came without dressing. My side salad had little to no dressing. No one brought our check until we asked. The restroom was like an airplane bathroom (i.e., tiny) with a non-functional hand dryer and no paper towels. There was a pervasive smell of cigarette smoke despite sitting outside as far away as possible from the smoking section. First time at Grand Cafe, but far from the last. We met friends there and surprisingly ran into others. I totally felt as though I was sitting at an outdoor cafe in Israel. Only difference is the menus are in English. Their offerings are extensive and authentic. It took a while to choose since I just wanted everything. Finally I decided on the 4 cheese toast with Israeli salad. The sandwich came out on Israel style 'bagelleh' fresh, but well toasted and cheese melted. So I have wanted to come here for a while. It's always full of side walk patrons who look like they are enjoying themselves. Had a Ice Chai Latte. Came warm. Asked them to make it colder. Tasted great. Then I ordered the Greek Plate. Lebaneh is fresh sour and delicious. Pita is piping hot. Feta is great w a dash of zatar. The only thing that wasn't good was canned sliced olives. We came here recently after spending time at the Hollywood beach and were craving for some caffeine. I searched via Yelp and this was the only good coffee shop that appealed to me, near the Hollywood beach. It is a few miles away from the beach, but I wanted good coffee and I'm so glad it was worth the drive. The coffee shop is located in a complex where Walgreens is located and finding a parking spot was a cakewalk. Though the name of this place was misleading (I thought it just another random place to grab sandwiches), I was actually taken aback by the menu. They had a number of salads, appetizers and sandwiches, leaning towards Greek/Mediterranean cuisine. And that's really my favorite cuisine! I ordered a Cafe Mocha and my husband his usual cappuccino. After looking at all the different menu options, I became hungry and my husband and I decided to split a "3 Mini Burekas". One has a choice of bureka stuffed with potatoes or cheese; we chose the potatoes option. There is indoor and outdoor seating and since the weather was pleasant that day, we decided to sit outdoors. Within a few minutes after we ordered, our waitress brought our espresso drinks to the table. Mocha was just so good.. So, so good. Loved it! My husband enjoyed his cappuccino. Once we were done with our drinks, we were served burekas... Delicious! This was the first time we tried burekas and they are GOOD! Well anyway, to sum it... Awesome food... Very attentive service... Take at least 10 minutes to read through the menu so you can make the right choice for you. The prices can be slightly high but what can you expect? Kosher food here costs a lot. But that's what I chose and that's what I'll pay. Besides, I'd rather pay more and enjoy my food than pay less and not even finishing it. They also have a great location, you can sit inside and outside, I recommend the outside with a nice breeze. All in all, good place to go for lunch with a friend or family, casual and chill. I am a fan of this hidden little gem in Hollywood, Florida. Clearly a family run operation - the woman in her 30s that runs things here is super duper nice. My wife and I came here to use their internet and get some food and coffee. We were very very pleased. The hummus and roasted eggplant we had here were all perfectly done. The hummus was still moist with the olive oil, and not too dry with nothing but chickpeas. Same with the eggplant, which is dry roasted perfectly, without tasting too oily. Best of all, this was all served with a cold cucumber salad and hot pita bread - leading to a wonderful composition of textures and tastes. Yum! And she did a good job on the cappuccino...
