Had bagel with real lox, cream cheese, capons, etc. It was fantastic, just like New York City! A wide variety of bagel choices handmade fresh daily plus a variety of cream cheese, deli salads, veggies and meats to go on the bagels. My favorites are jalapeno and everything bagels plus the jalapeno cream cheese. They have pastries and other items too. Great for my daily cream cheese and bagel habit. Went back the following morning and had the egg salad on toasted everything bagel with lettuce and a jalapeno bagel with lox spread, both just great. The big negative - They have a $5 minimum to use a credit or debit card. For me that is a foul and worth at least one, maybe 3 stars for. I found out this place has been in business for 20 years. Great enthusiasm from the worker bees at this place. And there were many people working here because this place is packed! I felt as if people were banging down the door to get in here Saturday morning. Lots of bagel optiosn to choose from. My husband and I both got the jalapeno cheddar bagels with meat/cheese/egg. I got bacon (far superior) and he got sausage (he said it lacked some "kick" to it). Both were decent breakfast sandwiches. Being from NY, I cannot give this bagel place 5 stars, even though the name of the place implies the bagels are NY-like. Cute place though. Reliable lunch spot!! Great food. Deli/sandwich spot with homemade soups, salads, sandwiches, bagels and their own pastries!! Great service and Deb keeps the line moving - don't be scared away if there is a line, it only b/c it's just small & a popular place. There is an upstairs room for overflow or quieter seating, and outside tables when it is nice. Not a quiet spot if you have any hearing issues, but a great spot for a relaxing lunch. Food was just ok. Roast beef sandwich came with shredded cheddar cheese on it which was odd. When I asked for cheddar cheese, that wasn't what I anticipated. Also, roast beef was dark brown (well done). Even on a Friday morning around 9:30 am the place was jammed. Jalapeño cheddar bagel wasn't really noticeable in sandwich. If my boyfriend, who is a Jersey native and claims that he can't find good bagels in PA, and really likes these bagels, then that is saying something. Atmosphere is super cute, friendly, and welcoming. Everyone who works there is super nice, food ordered comes out quick, and their bagels do NOT disappoint. This is a busy cafe off of Centerville Road, so seating inside can be hit or miss. The wait times, depending on what you get, aren't too bad, but don't go if you're in a hurry and want to sit down. First off, I love the coffee. They offer a great daily variety for all tastes, whether you'd like a fancy espresso drink or just plain black coffee. Today (second of 2 visits) I had their daily special roast, and it was delicious. The food can be pretty special, or it can be just ok. I saw their pancake bagel and had to try it as a breakfast sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheese. The bacon was how I prefer it, and not how most places prepare it--crisp and well-done, not at all soggy or floppy. The egg was tender but needed seasoning. The disappointing part was the lack of flavor in the pancake bagel, which I've never seen anywhere else. I expected some sweet maple goodness, but got none at all. It has a generally darker color to it than a plain bagel, but it really misses its target flavor. So, overall a tasty sandwich (especially for the price), but not what I hoped for. My fiancé got a chicken Caesar salad, because he was reluctant to spend $7-$9 on a place he hadn't had lunch at before, but it did not disappoint. This cafe gets bonus points for providing the accoutrements on the side; nothing was soggy or drenched in dressing. I stopped in here today for lunch. Their menu had some interesting options and goes well beyond Just Bagels with sandwiches, pastries, specialty coffee drinks, etc. I ordered two sandwiches, the Rockefeller and a cold turkey sandwich, I can't remember the name of it. The sandwiches could have used more meat and there was way too much bread. The Focaccia used for the turkey sandwich was kind of stale tasting too. I also ordered a latte, specifically the Irish mocha. It was decent but had a strange aftertaste. I brought to pastries home, a cream cheese brownie and two sugar cookies. We're long time customers and have been coming here for years. I'd give it 5 stars but have to handicap it because of Deb (older blond lady w/bob cut) who sometimes works the register. She's a bossy type, so she's good at cracking the whip w/the girls in the back and keeping the line moving during busy rushes. However that same attribute often lends to bouts of rudeness where she can ride the edge of being insulting. I think this stands out more with customers who have certain sensibilities around business where that type of attitude would never fly. Anyway, we'll likely keep going until she steps over the line one too many times. For now, they have great bagel sandwiches and crank things out pretty quickly. I give the bagels a 5 star and the manager who runs one of the registers a 2 star. I Love the bagels here! We travel from Harrisburg to get them. However, I have to take a deep breath when I walk through the door and see the manager, Deb at the register. I would rather let 5 ppl go before me to wait for the other register just not to deal with her impatience, rude, inflexible personality with fake grin. I know a real NY bagel here in Lancaster sounds unlikely but this place is for real. Bagel was fresh, had great flavor and cream cheese was good too. Had a house blend coffee and that also did not disappoint. Ordered a bakers dozen of bagels (9.99) for my freezer. So far have had the Cinnamon Crunch (divine...like a huge bagel size of cinnamon toast crunch cereal - very dense) and sundried tomato. They had about 20 varieties of bagels I think? Working at a coffee shop myself I do look at other cafes and expect the same type of service and or better. Not saying where I work at is perfect, it's just myself and other employees make sure we greet the customers as they come in and leave, especially when we are just standing there not serving anyone. Grand central has failed to do that every time I'm there, and I'm there at least once a week. Another thing is I asked for a mocha latte with extra whip. Simple no? They failed to give me extra whip which didn't bother me, I went up and waited to ask one of the employees to please put extra whip. For a good five minutes I was ignored, someone finally acknowledged and I asked for more whip, a lady shouts across the room "did they ask for it?!" Which such distain and annoyance I immediately responded "if you'd like to look at my receipt go ahead." She ignored me. Why should anyone get so hot and bothered about something like that?! It's sad and funny. Food is great and drinks are too. Employees need to learn not to act like teenagers though Their food and drinks are excellent, I have no complaints. read more

Mmmmm yummy! It was perfectly toasted and there was just the right amount of cream cheese on it. The cream cheese was nicely melted due to the toast of the bagel. My favorite part of a good bagel is the loud crunch when I bite into it and this definitely met that expectation. It was crunchy on the outside, and still soft and moist on the inside. The colors could have been more vibrant, but that's just a personal preference. I will be back! read more
