We are Cape Cod locals but tourists to Ptown. I was working at a wedding all day long and really wanted a quiet, garden-like, romantic, and delicious restaurant to relax at before going home down the road. My boyfriend grew up in ptown so as we were walking by an alley he asked what about this one? I honestly didn't even see it at first but once I was in front of it I was like YES this is what I needed. My feet were in a lot of pain from working and I just wanted to relax. So we went inside and the lights are dimmed with rustic ceiling beams. It was very romantic and soft ambiance inside. Lovely big window to look out that was photographic. The food was what really had me. I usually don't write reviews but I had to. I sat down to look at yelps photos like I usually do and was a little shocked when i saw the 3 stars. It was too late to leave so we stayed. This place does not deserve those old reviews. The service was fabulous and nice and very attentive. The food was out of this world! We got the blackened shrimp app which was very unique and delish. Then I got the pesto tortellini with cod fish on top and he had the scampi. We had an early reservation at 5pm, due to a show at 7pm, so we were the first diners. First, we just did not receive a warm welcome upon entering. Ok. Second, after we sat down, our server arrived. His service was off kilter all night, as he seemed to forget us or things as we ordered. The bartender who served our cocktails and wine, he was great. Food, was actually good. We enjoyed a caesar salad, had a nice bottle of pinot noir. Then our entrées were delicious, I had the chicken parmigiana and my husband had the seafood pasta. Overall it was good food, and the prices were very good. Chef gets 5 stars. Bartender gets 5 stars. Host and server 2 stars. We just did not appreciate the poor service, and will not return. read more

I normally don't leave a negative review but this is my 1st. I've been to Province Town like, 8 times, and always had a good visit with friendly people. On 6-19-2026, I came here with my family and asked the hostess if he had seating for 6 people. The guy looked super weird and said "hold on," then said "yes, I'll make some room" at a table that looked small from far away. I didn't want to be squished shoulder-to-shoulder, so I asked if I could see where he had it set up! Again, he looked really strange. So, I went to check it out, and it seemed doable. I pulled out a chair, and my family started walking in. He asked one of my family members if it was okay. They said yes! The hostess slammed the menus on the floor, which I didn't see, but my family member did and told me what happened, so we walked out. This place is definitely not what Province Town is about; it's a shame that I'll have to say not to go to this establishment. Very nasty, and I'm happy we didn't give them our money. We went to a different restaurant and had a delicious meal. Seriously, stay away from this location. Think this guy needs his meds!!! Minus 10, establishment doesn't have much reviews, should have known. Place has been here for awhile and only 47 reviews! SMH. Update: I left a review on Google, and the owner contacted me in less than 20 seconds to apologize. This isn't accommodating me and my family--it's about unprofessional, disrespectful service! This Jeffrey guy shouldn't be working here. He got upset I asked to see the table because it seemed too small for my family. You even admit it's meant for five people, and we had six adults! He didn't accidentally drop the menus--he purposely dropped them on the floor! Not having a reservation has nothing to do with receiving proper service. You wrote what you had to in order to protect your establishment, but I'll always tell people not to come here. This place is a real find and everyone working here does everything they can to make your experience the best it can be. Don't be fooled by the vintage exterior or the rustic interior decor, this place is comfortable, clean, and serves many of the local residents - - without a lot of fanfare (or pretension). GC is one of our staple 'go to' restaurants at least 1x per week in season - they are consistent, always consistent. Jeff and Dana provide exceptional service downstairs - with a smile and a laugh. We were talked into eating at this restaurant by a young guy standing in the corner with a menu! We should have checked the reviews first. Service was friendly. My Mediterranean Scrod was lukewarm and tasted bland despite the crushed tomatoes and capers. However I could not eat the rice that was most likely scraped from the bottom of the pot! My wife got the wrong meal! The manager promised new rice and the proper meal for my wife. I figure I could start eating and my replacement rice would be coming right away. Unfortunately I got it with my wife's meal after I had finished mine. Her scallops tasted rather bland. Espresso coffee was terrible. We were offered dessert which we turned down. read more

Hidden little gem. One of the most romantic restaurants I've seen. It's like "Lady and the Tramp", cool as hell. Great wine. Awesome place.

Wondering in town to find a place to eat, we saw a guy advertising Grand Central. We walked over and looked very nice, quiet and with an indoor and outdoor seating area. The outside was a little crowded but inside was empty except for one table. We walked in and two waitresses appeared and said the hostess will be with us shortly. By now, there is a couple in front of us and two more behind us. With plenty of room, I wondered what was going on. The waitress could have grabbed the menus and sit most of us but no... she had a pin to replace in her hair and a slow walk to accomplish to the bar area. The super rushed hostess (she was also cleaning tables outside) showed up and sat most of us down. We sat inside and the hostess placed a warm, garlic butter baguette in front of us. We started eating it. Another waiter appeared (it was the bartender from the bar in the wine lounge upstairs) and went to take care of the couple that arrived after us! We sat there wondering if anyone will come over to even acknowledge us. We sat... and sat... and sat... we finished the bread and all of the waiters, at one point or another, walked by us and acted like we were not even there. We got up and left... I give this place a zero-star rating for the super rushed hostess who was moonlighting as a busboy, the waiters who ignored us and the officially badly ran place. But because Yelp makes me, I have to give it a one star, for their saving grace, the bread was yummy and ambiance better than most of the restaurants in town. Great atmosphere and seating is available upstairs, inside downstairs and outside downstairs, all are very good. We got the steak tips and the duck. The tips were amazing, cooked perfect and the sauce was very tasty without overshadowing the meat. Zero stars! The food was beyond bland. Clam chowder tasted like flour and it had lumps of flour in it and 2 potatoes. Lobster ravioli was clearly store bought and the only flavor came from the butter and herbs on top. The tortellini tasted just of olive oil. The martini was sickeningly sweet. The bread was the only thing that was palatable. I started shaking my head at anyone who even looked like they were trying to walk in. I wish I could go back in time and uneat that meal. Zero stars. One of the worst dining experiences in my 17 years of summering in Ptown. My two houseguests and I ducked in to Grand Central after we emerged from a show at the Art House and encountered a thunderstorm. There were only a few customers, which should have told us something. An Old-Fashioned was ordered by one of us, the bartender DID NOT KNOW WHAT IT WAS. We told him to just Google it; ultimately something brown came to the table (we think it was bourbon and water) with no garnish; my guest sent it back and asked for wine instead. The clam chowder arrived about one minute before the entrees; it tasted like bland potato soup (how does a Cape Cod restaurant mess up clam chowder?). I ordered chicken parmigiana, which was very ordinary; my guests ordered seafood entrees and didn't finish them. I will never return. read more

Don't order the seafood casserole. It should contain shrimp lobster and scallops. They forgot the lobster and when i asked about it the kitchens response was...there was lobster in there. I know the difference and there was none. Poor handling of a minor situation loses customers. Ambiance was perfect for the setting: Warm, friendly and great music. Waiter was attentive and friendly. Another great attribute, the wine was very reasonably priced. Not the best place my partner and I ate at in Ptown, but the food was good. It's always a bonus when anchovies come with your Caesar salad! I got the grilled seafood linguine and my partner got the grilled scallops with roasted potatoes. Both were very good! My linguine was loaded with garlic, so if you're aprehensive about garlic ask before ordering. The service was great! Our waiter wasn't very talkative, but another waiter for the table beside us gave us recommendations for places to go and things to see. I have an extreme allergy to gluten and so I requested a gluten free menu, in which I was given. I was served my dish and my rice seemingly had orzo in it which is not gluten free by any means. I asked my server to make sure the rice was gluten free and she assured me it was. I proceeded to eat the dish assuming I was fine. I then took it upon myself to ask the chef it was gluten free and he had said the rice was mixed with pasta!!! A really funky little place. Great ambiance. Warm and comfortable. The food is delicious and reasonably priced and the menu has something for everyone. The little bar upstairs only has 4 seats but Rob, the bartender, is a rock star if you can grab a spot. I will NEVER go to this restaurant again and will advise others not to go. We chose Grand Central after walking by and seeing the inviting outdoor dining and appetizing menu. We made a reservation and returned later that evening. I ordered the lobster special. When my plate arrived, the shell on the claws of the lobster was so thick I could not crack through it. I almost broke the shell cracker. I explained this to the waiter and asked if someone in the kitchen could crack open the claws. He told me that there would be an additional $5.00 charge for that. I was shocked. I told him that I wasn't being lazy, it was simply impossible for me to get to the lobster meat. I also told him that I was not going to pay extra just so I could actually eat the meal I ordered. When the bill arrived I was dumbfounded to see the up charge. I asked the waiter why it was on the bill and he told me that he wasn't willing to risk his job over $5.00. I then took the bill to the front and asked to speak to the manager. "Wendy" came out of the kitchen. On this night, the manager was also serving as the cook. I explained the situation to Wendy and she refused to remove the extra charge. She said that she was too busy cooking to crack open lobsters for customers. She told me that I was making a big deal over $5.00 and started to walk away. I told her that I was not going to pay extra just to be able to eat my meal. Her suggestion was that the waiter should pay for it out of his own pocket. Unbelievable. Such rude behavior, No consideration for the customer, and the food was not even that good. I will never go to this restaurant again and will tell all my friends and associates not to patronize Grand Central either. There are plenty of other P-town restaurants who have great food AND provide great customer service. If possible I would rate this restaurant NO STARS. read more

Grand Central hit the mark. If you're looking for basic dishes, well priced and ample portions, then check it out. There is a barker on Commercial St. to lure you in - we went for it and were pleasantly surprised with the whole experience. Garlic bread is provided once without cost (as the table bread) and it you want more (we did) it's $3 a hit - short money - it's really good garlic bread. I had the seafood casserole (excellent) and my partner had the steak tips - marinated and tender. Both entrees came with potato (we had baked) and vegetable. We had the carrot cake for desert. Awesome. As for decor its a bit dark and old, as several Ptown establishments are (see my Sal's review), but clean overall. It was full when we were there on a rainy August midweek night. While the physical ambience of the space is superb the food falls a little short. It feels like a restaurant that is going through the motions but lacks any real passion or ambition to make it great. It wasn't bad but seemed tired. It needs someone to give it new energy. That being said.. the prices are a lot more reasonable than most places in town. So all in all .. would I go back? sure I would if I were looking to just eat and didn't care if I wasn't wowed by the experience but I wouldn't go out of my way. Oh.. and the music was ghastly... Would give this place 0 stars if I could. Went around 6pm on a weeknight with my young son and elderly parents. Menu looked nice and patrons friendly.. So I figured this place would offer a tasty meal with decent service (considering the prices) but boy was I wrong. Woman seating us (who is either owner or underachieving waitress) was extremely rude off the bat and actually sighed when I asked her for both a high hair and wheelchair accessible seating area. We brushed it off and hoped for the best. Boy was that a mistake. The duck was so undercooked that my husband became ill from only 4 or 5 bites before he got to the middle and realized it had to be sent back. Waitress insisted that this is how duck was to be cooked and wound up charging us for the additional meal that needed to be brought out. Needless to say, he was incapacitated that night and part of the next day. Mom had seafood pasta. Was like the clams were from a cheap supermarket in Minnesota and the pasta an overcooked mushy mess. Not sure how this establishment is still in business with such abhorrent staff and severely unpalatable food. Would post pictures but you haven't done anything to deserve that. Go to Canteen or check out the food court instead PLEASE...for the sake of your elderlies and children! read more

This experience was most disappointing. There is really nothing good I can say about it. The food was dreadful. The duck was undercooked, the apricot glaze was missing and sides were sloppy and also poorly prepared. Presentation was very unappealing and haphazard. The restaurant was empty when we arrived though it was early and when we left there was one other table of two. The music was from the sixty 's and many of my peers enjoy the oldies but I do not. I know it is a tough market to compete in here but this was a real low point. read more
