We stopped in for lunch and were so happy we did. The decor is old world style charm with wooden booths, soft lighting and relaxing music softly playing. Our server was personable and engaging. Went after a whale-watch excursion, came here because The Lobster Pot was backed-up. Should have waited. My wife ordered the fish tacos, which she really liked. I ordered a Portuguese shrimp Mozambique. While the sauce was good, the shrimp were inedible, overcooked and beyond rubbery. Like the improved urethane version. I started reading the Yelp reviews as we were sitting there waiting for our server to arrive. ( I know but it was 100 degrees outside and it looked fine) "Oh great" I said to BF-" maybe we should leave?" He said we're already sitting so lets wait. It's small (no strollers allowed) but they had 2 big parties of 5-10 people. Bartender looked surly as we walked in - no acknowledgement- woman outside with menus was pleasant (why we went in) and sat us immediately. We ordered a dozen oysters (from Hyannis) that were good- but not cold enough for me. However, they were $1.50 ea compared to $2+ elsewhere. Then we had bowls of white chowder- pretty good, not the best but certainly not the worst. Then we split a steak tips sandwich. It was actual steak tips, not shaved steak, but there were only a few small steak tips, tons of mushrooms and then oddly a piece of American chees that looked like it had been microwaved on. I was able to pull it off in 1 piece. Blechh. Server was ok, not the friendliest but not rude. All in all, I would not go back. They need to work on their people skills in the house (although the woman server we saw seemed much more pleasant than our server). And the food- well any place has oysters and clam chowder, The steak sandwich was overcooked (BTY they do NOT cook any meat anything other than medium to medium well- a concept I call lazy in a actual restaurant that's not a chain) and tasteless. We stopped here for lunch after an exhausting whale watch trip in the cold. We weren't very delighted with our meals but it was okay. We both got burgers and fries. The burgers were fine, not amazing but did the trick and we were hungry. The fries were not very good. I know due to COVID, everything is wonky but the atmosphere is just very quiet and dull. We came in for the Bloody Mary, and stayed for lunch. Big mistake. My lobster roll came with a 1 ounce bag of Utz chips. It contained chopped up lobster meat on a stale toasted roll. All for $18.95. My wife's crab cake sandwich was also on a stale toasted roll and came with over baked potato wedges, which were fairly hard to chew. I was going to ask for fries, but thought better of it when I sampled hers. The Bloody Mary was great, and the service was fine, but when I mentioned my concerns I received the "well this is P-town" response. So, I've been visiting P-town for years and love to go in early spring before the crowded tourist season begins. One of the reasons I love to visit is the lack of chain restaurants in the area. I like the small family owned businesses, and enjoy putting money back into the area. We saw the woman outside of Vorelli's holding a menu, we peeked at it and decided everything looked good. Besides, I've walked past this place for years and decided it was time to give it a shot. It was just my 12year-old daughter and I. The place is somewhat dark and dank, but clean enough. No frills here! Servers were friendly and attentive, but our server, a friendly older lady, absolutely reeked of cigarettes. I ordered a bowl of chicken dumpling soup with 1/2 of a tuna sandwich. My daughter had an Italian sub. My soup was flavorful but came in very small coffee mug. My tuna was bland/flavorless and very small. My daughter's sandwich was large and had a respectable amount of meat, but lacked any other real flavor. The sandwiches at Subway are far better. We did not complain because the servers were so nice, but this lunch was lackluster. We should've kept walking by like we have done so many times before. read more

We decided to split two entrees--we got the lobster ravioli and the crab cake dinner. Both were really tasty. Lobster ravioli was particularly fresh. The crab cake dinner had waxy beans and under ripe mango as a side dish, so that was less than stellar. For dessert, we got the chocolate lovin spoonful. DO NOT ORDER THIS! It was too dry and hard to eat. Coffee was burnt and there was no tea option other than black tea. Service was great though. Not a place for a vegetarian. read more

Honestly the food is just as bad as the service behind the scenes. I worked here for only a few days to be horrified at what goes on here. The owner screams at her employees on a daily basis. Also if a server messes up a dinner order somehow, that server has to PAY for that meal. Which I am pretty sure is ILLEGAL in the state of MA. Employees are treated like crap and thus the service suffers. I will say that the seafood they use is fresh but unfortunately how they cook the food makes for very bland dishes. Unfortunately their restaurant and menu is stuck in the 60s. There are plenty of other great places to visit in PTown. If you want old school seafood definitely check out the lobster pot! read more

My worst ever dining experience in Provincetown! As soon as we walked into Vorelli's the bad smell hit us. The place was deserted, which should have raised red flags, and I really regret not taking the time to check Yelp first before coming here. Serves us right for being adventurous! The only upside to the whole dinner experience was how polite and attentive the female server was. She's the only reason I didn't complain while we were there. Our starter was salmon and prosciutto with capers and a little greenery. Unfortunately the salmon had a good amount of grey, and that's just not something that should be served. We cut it off and left it behind on the limp lettuce leaf. First course was a fail! Our main courses were 2 different seafood pasta dishes, one with big clams, which my partner finished off. The greasy broth left in his bowl looked nasty though (pic posted on Yelp). My seafood with lobster sauce over linguini was very rich, totally unseasoned and bland. It was meant to contain shrimp, mussels etc, but the only seafood present was rubbery, previously frozen lobster chunks. I had to leave most of it. Main course total fail! This place looks and smells old and tired, which is shame because it's location is excellent, and it has a lot of potential. The prices were probably the worst part, as they were set at fine dining levels. This was far from fine dining. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! There are far too many good quality dining options in the area to go to Vorelli's. read more

My experience at this restaurant began when I entered a door under a wood sign that read, "The Tavern." Upon sitting down and seeing that the menu was titled "Vorelli's," I noticed a third restaurant name outside the window where I was seated. This was my sign to leave, but I was with a group that seemed happy here. While reading the menu I noticed that there were zero meatless entree options. I am not a vegetarian, but eat very little meat and none of the meat entrees appealed to me. When I asked the waitress if there are any vegetarian dinner options, the response I received was only, "no," with no offers to make any of the dishes listed meatless. I then asked if I could get the lobster roll, but without the mayo sauce and she also said "no" and informed me that it was all pre-prepared. This was my second sign to leave, but I ended up ordering a side salad and bruschetta appetizer. What would they have done if I had a food allergy? Someone in my party ordered the crab cakes and they did not look like any crab cakes I have ever seen on a plate before. They looked like they had been pre-made and frozen. Overall, this place had a poor atmosphere, was way overpriced, and had limited food options.
