    House Special Chicken lunch
    Ken R.

When I drove up to the restaurant, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I wanted to rely on many good Yelp reviews, so inside I went. I am glad I did. The ambiance is fairly plain and simple, but the good is bursting with flavor. Step 1 is the egg drop soup test, which Grand Dragon passed with flying colors. I was a bit bummed by the small portion size, however. Then, my lunch order of House Special Chicken arrived. It was smoking hot, super flavorful and crispy, and a nice-sized portion. The traditional egg roll was great, alongside the crab puff. Everything was served quickly and the experience was good overall. I didn't love the plain fried rice that came with the meal. Next time, I will ask for white rice.

Amazing service and food! Very comfy! I felt like time stopped and I could enjoy my meal. The waiter was helpful and enthusiastic! He seemed like he was happy to serve. Lots of food for the price. I ate dinner and have a box for lunch tomorrow!

The food is tasteless no flavor and some of the food to dry, the service is mediocre the waiter was eating in the front door !! What a bad impression for a restaurant the ambiance was just not good at all tables where so sticky and the floor was disgusting very bad experience never coming back the server was super rude I don't know if that is the way they treat the customer, definitely not going back to this place, I wanted to try something new and different but definitely it was a bad experience,

This restaurant is a clean hole in the wall restaurant that serves delicious and very reasonably priced Chinese food. Today I ordered the house special chicken lunch combo and my husband ordered egg drop soup and shrimp fried rice. The chicken was crispy and delicious. The chicken was not chewy or tough ( like some other places) the egg roll had really good flavor and the crab puff and fried rice were average. The shrimp fried rice was ok but overall I love this place. The service is quick and friendly.

It's been like ten years since I've been here. Used to come all the time when I lived closer but kinda stopped after a few "not so good" dishes. Ordered shrimp chow mein and mushroom chicken. The mushroom chicken was ok but could have used more taste. I like it well seasoned. The chow mein was also kinda weak in flavor. It was well made, noodle weren't soggy and shrimp were cooked well So my verdict is......it's a little better than average and the prices were good. The place looked clean. Not very crowded for a Friday night which is usually a bad sign. Maybe because there was only one grumpy old cashier guy and a lady cooking/bringing out the food. There were more people waiting for takeout than sitting at the tables.

Got our order to go- was ready in 20 minutes. Food was delicious! I love the large amount of everything especially the noodles (they come with the dish)! They close for summer but I'd definitely order again. That orange chicken was moist with a nice chicken to breading ratio where it's mostly chicken. My Kung Pao wasn't visually what I expected, with the very large pieces of celery- but it was still delicious & just the right amount of spice- on the mild side. The fried rice was mediocre. The noodles were perfect. The wontons were decent. All at a very reasonable price: $32.95 - a small charge for card.

Parking is very easy because they are at the end of a strip mall in a big parking lot. Our food was very fresh. Portions were very large. The chicken in our dishes was masterfully moist and very tender. The food is a very good value if you like it. We ordered the yui shan chicken and the garlic chicken combos (only around $1. more to get soup, crab puff, egg roll and an upgrade from white rice to fried rice.) Based on only trying two dishes my conclusion is that they serve Arizona Style American Chinese Food. It is far less complex, less flavorful, and much less spicy than east coast American take out Chinese Food. It's not bad food in anyway so if you are from Arizona it is very good food. We started eating at the restaurant but I got the idea that I could take the food home and improve it for my taste. The food stayed piping hot and it did taste much better with just a spoonful of chili crisp added more flavors and some needed heat. The people working there seemed very nice and the restaurant looked sparkling clean. 3 stars is a positive review and means A-OK on Yelp. I recently enjoyed a wonderful meal there after five months of strict healthy eating. I had been cautious about flavorful food because of health concerns, including three strokes. When a friend invited me to lunch, I first said I would go to Angie's for a salad. She kindly offered to ask the chef to go easy on the salt and soy sauce, which put me at ease. The food turned out to be fantastic. Every bite felt like a treat after my long stretch of simple meals. The flavors were bold and satisfying, and I loved everything. The service was just as good. The owner walked around the dining area serving tea to guests, which gave the meal a warm, personal feel. His friendly manner made the experience even better. I'm already planning my next visit to try their dumplings. This was the best lunch I've had in five months. My friend covered the bill, so I don't have a receipt to share.

They also feature a beautifully appointed small bar that crafts cocktails, which adds a sophisticated touch. I escorted myself to an excellent table and requested a bowl of Egg Drop Soup to enjoy while engaging in a brief, lovely conversation with the attentive staff. The preparation was entirely satisfactory. While the interior architecture and decor are not quite as grand in scale as I had initially envisioned, the aesthetic is tastefully curated and not bad at all. For my main course, I selected the Mongolian Beef from the menu a splendid choice, and beautifully priced at $14.85. The gentleman assisting us throughout the afternoon was an absolute credit to the establishment, executing his duties with flawless precision. To be clear, I am a New Yorker and know good fast Chinese food. The ambiance was promising. It looked like I was finally going to find what I've been looking for in Phoenix for years. For whatever reason, Chinese restaurants in Arizona serve egg hockey pucks and cover it with various items and call it egg foo young. I even asked about it before I ordered it. Alas when I got home and saw what I had, I was disappointed. It's faster to make it this way but the egg hockey puck had no taste - zero. They could have at least added oyster sauce, a little soy sauce, maybe nam plah, and perhaps sesame oil. It was tasteless. A complete miss. I also ordered something simple, shrimp spring rolls. They were delicious! I inhaled them and will order them again. I'd go again just for the spring rolls. Maybe they have other dishes that are good and I may not entirely give up but the egg foo young is a no go.
