"Sometimes, you just crave that perfect Chinese takeout feast." ― Chrissy Teigen Happy Lunar New Year! I've been hearing about Wong's for almost twenty years now. My little sis here on Yelp, Stephanie M., is a huuuge fan of this place. For one reason or another, I've been digging my heels in about this place but here we are at long last. The four of us ordered: Salt & Pepper Wings: Good flavor, perfect texture, and boy are those jalapeños hot. They're not overly salt but they lack a certain depth. I'm not sure what flavor I was chasing but it was decent. Large Hot & Sour Soup: Near perfection. Great viscosity and it had all the gret ingredients you want in hot & sour soup. My only beef is that this soup was too sweet. Why is hot & sour soup sweet?! Orange Chicken: Totally not what I was expecting. In my mind, I was imagining heavy-battered deep-fried bites. Instead we got chicken slices in an orange sauce. Unexpected but still good. Honey Walnut Shrimp: A classic and they do it well here. No notes. Beef Chow Fun: Great technique with no broken noodles. Seasoning was on point although it did lack that smoky char taste. I'm guessing they don't use gas stovetops here? For having driven over 30+ miles to come here to meet up with some friends for lunch, while decent, I can't imagine myself stopping by here again to be real with y'all. Service was scarce but the place is definitely spacious. Think hotel conference center chic.

While we have found Phoenix to be very hit and miss with Asian cuisine, Wong's didn't disappoint. While the strip mall where Wong's is located, doesn't look like much, the interior is simple, well kept and clean. Our severs were friendly and attentive and continuously chucked when they saw how much food my wife and I bought. But this allowed us to enjoy in for day's afterward. We did buy a lot of food, because we wanted to try a little bit of everything. We started with Wong's Lo Mein and added the Happy Family stir-fry, Walnut Shrimp, Mongolian Beef and Egg Foo Young. To be honest, there wasn't anything that I didn't like! Coming from an area with a large Asian population with the best Asian cuisine, I've got to say Wong's really measures up and is the best that I've had in this area! 5-Stars across the board.

By far the best Chinese "takeout" restaurant in Phoenix. We've been searching far and wide for something that's similar to what you can get on the East Coast and Wong's delivers. Soup is amazing, all entrees as well. House Chicken, Honey Walnut shrimp, and Lo Mein were fantastic. Don't sleep on the crab puffs!

This place was really tasty and the customer service was excellent! :) the pork fried rice was super bomb and so was the chicken chow mein, it had lots of flavor. The portion size was also huge and definitely worth the price! We ordered food to go and it was still steamy hot when we brought it home. Also the inside looked really clean when we grabbed our order. Would definitely recommend this place!!

Yang Chow Fried Rice (ordered: without shrimp) YES!! I've been trying to find this style forever in AZ. In love

Nothing negative to say! Amazing food. Reminds me of Chinese food restaurants from when I was a kid in Hawaii, where it's a melting pot of cultures. They get it right at Wong's, to sum up it's legit.

Haven't been satisfied with eating out in a long time. The food was really good. Even for picky eaters. I'll give it a 9/10. Including the customer service 8/10. Will be visiting again.

So yummmmyyyyyy!!!! The lo-mein was my favorite because I love lo-mein! We called in our order and in about 45min to an hour it was ready. We had lo-mein, black bean fish (delicious), the house special chicken (it was good, but didn't quite understand the hype), beef with mushrooms (Oh myGOODNESS IT WAS SO TENDER LIKE EATING BUTTER!! So GOOD!!), shrimp fried rice (It was good!) and sweet and sour soup!! Everything was tasty! Huge portions and we over-ordered for 2 people for sure lol ! We didn't dine in so I'm not sure what the inside looked like but I heard it was busy!!

    The spread!!!

10/10 this was soooooo good! We got there before noon and it was already packed like there was a little bit of a wait but it was worth it!!! Everyone was super nice and friendly definitely gave local gem vibes! The menu has something for everyone I got a combination plate and it was plenty of food. We got orange chicken, egg foo young, shrimp fried rice, house fun chow noodles and dumplings and I will say that everything that touched the table was delicious! Can't wait to go again!!!!

The food is consistently outstanding, and the warm, attentive service keep us coming back time and time again. On this visit, we ordered the sautéed whole lobster with green onions and ginger, beef lo mein, shrimp lo mein, walnut shrimp, and fried rice. Every dish was prepared beautifully and packed with flavor, but the lobster was truly divine. Perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and infused with the aromatic flavors of fresh ginger and green onions, it was one of those dishes that leaves a lasting impression long after the meal is over. The beef and shrimp lo mein were equally delicious, with rich savory flavors and generous portions, while the walnut shrimp was perfectly crisp with a delicate sweetness that balanced the dish beautifully. The fried rice was the perfect complement to everything on the table. We also enjoyed a few sake bombers, which are hands down the best we've had anywhere. They are always perfectly prepared and have become a must-order whenever we visit. They pair wonderfully with the food and add an extra touch of fun to an already fantastic dining experience. It's probably the fanciest Chinese restaurant I've been to in AZ. The lunch menu is excellent and quite impressive! There are 8 entrees to choose along with a side for only $20. What's crazy is that a full size seafood and wagyu beef belly jjampong is a side! They're regularly $24 so it's a crazy deal to get an additional entree!! We ordered seafood jjampong and wagyu beef jjampong as sides and genghis khan beef and chili garlic fried chicken as mains. The jjampong had that great umami taste without the oiliness that's unavoidable at other restaurants. The ingredients felt very premium and fresh. Ghengis khan beef pieces were very generous and tender with a savory sauce. Chili garlic chicken was a tad salty for me but had great crisp. Service was impeccable and one you'd expect from an upscale restaurant. I can't wait to go back to try other dishes from the lunch menu. I ventured inside on this lovely Sunday, noting a delightfully serene dining room with only a few select patrons present. They also feature a beautifully appointed small bar that crafts cocktails, which adds a sophisticated touch. I escorted myself to an excellent table and requested a bowl of Egg Drop Soup to enjoy while engaging in a brief, lovely conversation with the attentive staff. The preparation was entirely satisfactory. While the interior architecture and decor are not quite as grand in scale as I had initially envisioned, the aesthetic is tastefully curated and not bad at all. For my main course, I selected the Mongolian Beef from the menu a splendid choice, and beautifully priced at $14.85. The gentleman assisting us throughout the afternoon was an absolute credit to the establishment, executing his duties with flawless precision. To be clear, I am a New Yorker and know good fast Chinese food. The ambiance was promising. It looked like I was finally going to find what I've been looking for in Phoenix for years. For whatever reason, Chinese restaurants in Arizona serve egg hockey pucks and cover it with various items and call it egg foo young. I even asked about it before I ordered it. Alas when I got home and saw what I had, I was disappointed. It's faster to make it this way but the egg hockey puck had no taste - zero. They could have at least added oyster sauce, a little soy sauce, maybe nam plah, and perhaps sesame oil. It was tasteless. A complete miss. I also ordered something simple, shrimp spring rolls. They were delicious! I inhaled them and will order them again. I'd go again just for the spring rolls. Maybe they have other dishes that are good and I may not entirely give up but the egg foo young is a no go.

Gotta support local when you can I say! The menu is pretty basic and has all your typical options for Americanized Chinese food. Wanting to get something that had noodles in it, I opted for the combination #1 which has chow mein crispy noodles, pork fried rice, and two tempura shrimp. Quite a lot of food and for a very reasonable price! I think the combo was around $10. If you are a fan of bean sprouts, this is your place. The chow mein had a massive pile of beansprouts on top. The noodles were indeed crispy but they was such a meager portion compared to the beansprouts. The fried rice was pretty basic but also a generous portion and the two tempura shrimp had a nice crispy batter. I tried some of the eggroll too which is one of the most unique versions I've had since the super crispy outer layer was either a different preparation or different wrap material than I'm used to. The interior was made primarily of beansprouts too. Service was good. Our food was prepared fairly quickly.

This is one convenient, high quality, extremely flavorful Chinese place that me and my husband visited today. It was just high quality all the way! When we arrived it was quiet. Superbly clean, neat and tidy. Cute decor and a nice inviting vibe. We were sat at a table and given our menus. Prices were really good. Especially when you get the quality of food that comes out of that kitchen. Our waitress was super-nice. Which is hard to find these days. She was so nice to everyone who came in. When we sat down, a lady who wasn't too sure about the place came in asking all kinds of questions. And she patiently answered each one as if she was a close family member. A homeless guy came in asking for water. She jumped right up to give him a HUGE cup of ice and water and was so kind to him. Then other patrons came in to order and pick up food and each one, regardless of age, ethnic makeup, what they were wearing, all were greeted so warmly. Huge smiles and a constant giving and warm attitude all throughout. We were treated just as good. And for us that is very rare. We ordered a lot of various things. A cold cucumber salad, a hot appetizer, a couple of main dishes. Then the absolute most amazing signature steak on the Chef's Speciality. WOW. The salad and appetizers came out first. Salad really cold and refreshing. Super crisp and cut nicely. Amazing flavor. Then the appetizers were super hot and fresh. Not oily. Bursting with flavor. Then the mains came. Everything cooked perfectly. The flavors of each dish just screaming at my taste buds. Enjoyed every bite. Then they brought out the steak for my husband. So juicy. So tender. And the sauce in the side just added to the flavor. We savored every bite. The quality and temperatures and flavors are off the chart. We could not finish all this bliss in one sitting, se we asked for boxes and containers. She gave us many to separate everything and a bag to haul it home in. Always asking if we needed anything else and being authentically polite. This place should be packed. You are missing out if you have not tried New Hong King Restaurant. Amazing service.
