Note: currently appears to be closed for remodeling, cannot confirm. I have visited Wong's on multiple occasions. During prime time hours and slower hours. Never disappointed! Their food is consistently the same no matter how busy it is, most recently during a heavy dinner hour - prime time. Yes, expect to wait, we started the 30 plus wait time out side and then inside in the small waiting area. It's not fancy by any means. TVs with a game on, servers moving about, and a steady stream of to go orders. We had King Pao Chicken, Beef with broccoli and Mongolian Beef. Also Wongs fried rice & appetizer plate and soups. I had hot & sour soup, absolutely delicious, a little spicy as it should be. My Mongolian Beef was probably the best prepared, very tender beef and flavorful I've had, and always consistently the same each visit. The other entrees severed were equally flavorful, tender meats and served fresh & hot. Servers are kind and knowledgeable of each dish and offer suggestions of their favorites. I have to update my review and lower the grade from 3 to 2. Stopped by for a lunch today. Got the chicken chop suey. While the price was 11.75$ pre-tax, I need to report that there MAYBE 1/4 of a cup of cooked chicken in my meal today. I so wanted to have a better experience than before. But no - imo, this place is overrated and going downhill. The service was ok, albeit they acted confused for no reason. Ambiance is what it is - not offensive but not really anything someone would be returning to for the sake of it - at all. I absolutely need an intervention. Ever since discovering this Chinese restaurant it's usually when we visit when I come to town with my family. And not just once but usually twice. Tonight we popped in for an early dinner on a Thursday. There was no wait and we were seated immediately. We opted to start with egg rolls, a cup of the wonton soup and a cup of hot sour soup along with an order of barbecue pork, fried rice and the combo fried rice. Keep in mind this is just a start. We felt the eggrolls. This time were a little greasy and lacked flavor - of any kind. There was no pork, chicken, peanut butter, flavor. It tasted mostly of like onion or some other vegetable. We enjoyed them the first time we came in so this was a little disappointing to us. We definitely will try them again. Both fried rice dishes were amazing as always, but what really stood out where the soups. We can't stop talking about how delicious both of the soups were. We then ordered our entrées, which were the walnut shrimp, Kung pao chicken, lemon, chicken, and mu shu pork. The lemon chicken is the star of the show. We also were blown away by the walnut shrimp with its creamy sauce and large shrimp. Both the Kung pao chicken and mu shu pork what kind of disappointing. Both lack flavor the Kung pao had tender chicken but the sauce was very bland. The mu shu seemed to be comprised of mostly onions. Not the usual cabbage, egg, chicken that we were expecting. The hoisin sauce/plum sauce was very runny. I'm not sure we would order those items again. Everything around us at the table that other guests were ordering, looked amazing, including sesame, chicken and shrimp and vegetables so maybe we'll try those next time. I have always wanted to try this place and now that I have, I have to say that I am disappointed. The four of us ordered: Salt & Pepper Wings - These were some great wongs. Loved the crispiness of a nicely fried wing. Large Hot & Sour Soup - Great consistency but it had a weird underlying sweetness I didn't enjoy. The restaurant across the street on the Fry's plaza used to have the best hot and sour soup until they changed owners so it was going to be hard for them to beat regardless. Orange Chicken - I don't think any of us expected it to come out this way so it was a surprise. Was a pleasant surprise? Ehh. It's probably my least favorite orange Chicken in the valley. I'm not sure what flavor I was chasing but it was decent. Large Hot & Sour Soup: Near perfection. Great viscosity and it had all the gret ingredients you want in hot & sour soup. My only beef is that this soup was too sweet. Why is hot & sour soup sweet?! Orange Chicken: Totally not what I was expecting. In my mind, I was imagining heavy-battered deep-fried bites. Instead we got chicken slices in an orange sauce. Unexpected but still good. Honey Walnut Shrimp: A classic and they do it well here. No notes. Beef Chow Fun: Great technique with no broken noodles. Seasoning was on point although it did lack that smoky char taste. I'm guessing they don't use gas stovetops here? For having driven over 30+ miles to come here to meet up with some friends for lunch, while decent, I can't imagine myself stopping by here again to be real with y'all. This family owned restaurant is awesome! The service is top notch and the food is excellent!! I have eaten here many times, most recently a couple weeks ago. The food and service is always consistently good. Beautiful atmosphere and just a lovely restaurant. My dad ordered a fish dish in black bean sauce and it was incredible! I'm totally ordering that next time. The veggies were so fresh and crisp and the mushrooms were amazing! I got the shrimp lo mein and it wasn't oily or greasy. The shrimp were delicious and it's definitely enough for two meals. Definitely 5 stars for a nice family meal. read more

While we have found Phoenix to be very hit and miss with Asian cuisine, Wong's didn't disappoint. While the strip mall where Wong's is located, doesn't look like much, the interior is simple, well kept and clean. Our severs were friendly and attentive and continuously chucked when they saw how much food my wife and I bought. But this allowed us to enjoy in for day's afterward. We did buy a lot of food, because we wanted to try a little bit of everything. We started with Wong's Lo Mein and added the Happy Family stir-fry, Walnut Shrimp, Mongolian Beef and Egg Foo Young. To be honest, there wasn't anything that I didn't like! So yummmmyyyyyy!!!! The lo-mein was my favorite because I love lo-mein! We called in our order and in about 45min to an hour it was ready. We had lo-mein, black bean fish (delicious), the house special chicken (it was good, but didn't quite understand the hype), beef with mushrooms (Oh myGOODNESS IT WAS SO TENDER LIKE EATING BUTTER!! So GOOD!!), shrimp fried rice (It was good!) and sweet and sour soup!! Everything was tasty! Huge portions and we over-ordered for 2 people for sure lol ! We've been getting our takeout from Wong's for about 7+ years now... the one owner even recognizes my voice when I'm calling in my order which is nice! They tend to get pretty busy since they're a sit down restaurant so on the weekend plan on 30-45 min sometimes for your Togo order but guaranteed it will be fresh & good. My hubby always gets the honey wings that are cooked perfectly & the bbq pork fried rice... they put egg in theirs, no need to request! I love their WorWonTon Soup, the veggies are always very fresh as well as the wontons with the chicken, bbq pork & shrimp! The bbq pork with mixed veggies is also another one of my faves, all the veggies are so crisp! We actually drive 20 minutes to Wongs because nothing in our area can even come close to the quality as this place & that's even after traveling the 20 minutes back in our car! The place is always packed and the food portions are big and tasty. This is a classic, "Americhinese" restaurant with all the standards: egg fu young, chow mein, sweet and sour whatever, House special chicken, twice cooked pork, Mongolian beef, etc., etc. The food here is top notch and service is always iffy, which is as expected. You don't want too good of service at a Chinese restaurant because that would be suspicious. They are properly cranky here but always accommodating and responsive. Sometimes it's just a little slow because the place gets PACKED. But that's also good. If you live anywhere toward the west side, check this place out. You won't be disappointed. read more

We ordered the wings fried rice, I made this spicy. They don't play about their heat. I loved it though. We also got the Mongolian Chicken- came spicy and had a nice kick to it. This is my family's #1 spot for Chinese Food in the West Valley. The staff here is very nice & even when it is very busy, they keep their cool & serve you as fast as they can. My partner has been here a handful of times and he finally took me to try it. We brought a bunch of friends to come try for the first time as well. We got their Sesame Beef, Salt and Pepper Chicken and Shrimp, Kung Pao Chicken, Wonton Soup, Fried Rice, and Crab Puffs. All I have to say is COME HERE! The service was so friendly, the food was SO good, and their menu is so big. When you walk in, it feels very homey and it's filled with regulars. This is mine and my husbands go to place for Chinese food. It is a little hole in the wall place that is tucked in to the corner of a strip mall! It is very clean and nice inside. Service and food are amazing!! They have big portions and we always seem to have leftovers to take home.
