I found Grand Spa on a Sunday morning while searching for nail salons near me. They showed an opening time of 11:30 AM perfect, two hours away. I visited their website and was happy to see that I could book an appointment online. I scheduled a manicure for 11:30 AM and arrived on time, only to find the place busier than expected. When I checked in, I was told that online appointments aren't visible to them unless they're made at least three hours in advance. Fortunately, they were able to work me in. Not good service. Messaged prior about pricing and even sent photos was told one price over text and another once service was done. I will say lady was very nice and kind but applied sloppy dip.(Attached photos) I reached out with photos they said they would fix. I then asked about a prior green spot from another salon. I asked if it was ok that polish was applied on top because if not I was going to ask to just have it removed. I then get a text saying" After this fix, we will not be able to accommodate future appointments, as we feel we may not be the best fit for your expectations. So, I had a great experience at this place. The service was excellent, and it really helped set the mood. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because I already had a manicure yesterday, and it looks like I need a fill already. But, the shape and size of my nails were perfect, so it was still a great experience. Now, let's talk about the pedicure. I understand that a basic pedicure only includes a soft scrub and cleaning the cuticles. But, I feel like even a basic pedicure should include a thorough cuticle cleaning. It's part of the service, and it's what you pay for. I don't want to pay $30 for a basic pedicure and get a consultation and a polish change. That's just not fair. Everything else was great, though. What happened to my go to nail salon. I have been going here since 2019 when we bought in Aubrey. I went this week and it looks like a night club with a full bar. Why? Other than getting my cuticles sanded off with dremel and burning my skin for days, it was a pleasant experience. I do plan to go again because the atmosphere was pretty, quiet and very relaxing. Went to Grand Nail Salon to get Nexgen Dipping French done, which showed on the screen being $55.00. When I checked out and paid, I did not look at my receipt until I got in my daughter's car. They had charged me for Soak Off Service fee of $5.00 plus Shaping of $7.00. My daughter had her nails done as well (Ombre) $65.00 but she was not charged for soak off and shaping fee. When I spoke with Jason, he advised me that the soaking and shaping is additional fee and is charged. I advised him that those two items should come with the service, meaning can't do Nexgen Dipping French nails done without soaking the old to do the new. This is so wrong, and I will be going elsewhere to get my nail service done - there are plenty of nail salons out there to provide better service and not nickel and dime you and be consistent with what they charge. I did my nails shorter than I normally do and saw I was charged an "extra" fee and apparently this was for length. Second time being here, both times had a great experience with the staff and technicians. They are friendly and try to make sure you leave happy with your nails! I appreciate the friendliness and patience they had with me as we tried to find a color I wanted but they didn't have. We went with the French tip due to the color I wanted being gone and I can still truthfully say I'm not upset with the fact I left with something different. This is simply because they turned out great and I could tell they really wanted me to have what I wanted or at least something I wasn't disappointed with. Not sure I can recommend Grand Nail & Spa. I was in town visiting family and came in for a quick pedicure, paid $60 for it, and was disappointed I didn't choose else here. At other salons, the higher the price of a service, the more you get, right? Not necessarily the case here. Despite choosing a $60 pedicure, both feet were only buffed for about 5 minutes total. I had to ask her to go back and do more because she barely even touched them. She was very nice and polite. I added an extra star because when I appreciate that when I said something, she tried to do a bit more, but it was literally an extra minute each leg, if that. I've gotten gel pedicures for years. In my years of getting them from various salons, polish has never chipped, not even a little bit. Well, they did after coming here. I won't be coming back for a pedicure. ***GOT FUNGUS ON ALL NAILS BEWARE*** Prior to me going to the nail salon on December 19, 2021, my nails were healthy with no issues. I had not had my nails done in 4 weeks, so they were clean with no polish or other product on them because I was giving myself a break before Christmas. On December 19, I went to Grand Nails & Spa in Aubrey TX to have a pedicure and dipped nails. I got a red glitter dipped nails on both hands. This was a popular dip because it was Christmas, so alot of people in the salon were using the same powder. The nail tech dipped my fingers directly into the powder, so my nails were exposed to anyone prior to me that used this same color. The nail tech did not put the powder in an individual container to prevent cross contamination of my nails from getting exposed to anything from other customers. I left the nail salon and had no issues with the final product. Fast forward to January 14, 2022. I'm at another nail salon, removing the dipped nails to get a new set. Once the polish was removed, I immediately noticed that my nails on both hands did not look correct. They had huge fungus infections under 80% of my nails. The nail fungus was eating away at my nails almost half way in just 3 weeks it had caused so much damage to my nails. I knew immediately that this came from the nail salon from the dipped powder was contaminated because everyone was using the same popular powder for Christmas. Nail salons should have more procedures in place to protect our nails by not dipping our nails in the same powder as others. This is a practice that alot of salons do not follow and needs to be corrected. It will take me months to get my nails healed and I will have to pay money for products to try not to have long term problems due to this salon. My wedding is coming up and I may not even have nails.. I'm very upset! Also - they overcharge you and you don't know the cost. It was $120 for gel and toes - and that's not even with the tip! I was really disappointed with this place. Took my Mom here for a Christmas present, she got a gel manicure and I did the dip powder manicure. The experience and ladies were very nice (even though they really need to offer you something to drink without you having to ask halfway through). I had a nail break (dip and real nail) two days later. And within a week, I had 3 nails break halfway across and others were starting to show the lines where you can tell they will break soon. So that's really disappointing after $35 + tip. Then I find out that my Mom had one break the first few days as well, and another a few days after that. I live very close to this nail salon and I will not be coming back. The service is subpar. The gentlemen at reception gives a warm welcome. I had called ahead of time to set an appointment. Feed was internally upset at this point so I let it go. The end result was very disappointing. I'm used to very nice nails at the other place I go to. Even bigger cringe. I asked the nice man from reception if someone could fix my one nail that had the most bubbles on it. "He said what did you do?" "Did you touch it?" I said no then a nice lady (middle aged with glasses) came over and fixed my one nail. Then he (receptionist) came over and asked is it fixed.
