We had such a great experience at Grand Olde Station! They are dog friendly, which is a huge plus for us, and we were able to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather (it was a perfect 69° today!). Since we yet outside in the front you get the pretty view of Lake Toxaway! We started with the bruschetta appetizer, and it came out quickly. It was so fresh and flavorful that we were honestly surprised at how delicious it was. We loved it so much we decided to try the crab cakes too, and those did not disappoint either. For mains, my husband had the chicken and waffles and absolutely loved it. I ordered the honey bourbon roasted chicken thighs, and they were incredible, tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Between the great food, dog friendly atmosphere, and perfect outdoor seating, we cannot recommend Grand Olde Station enough!

Super burgers, salads, full bar, super service. Local rustic feel. Lots of parking, outdoor spaces and seating.

Fantastic tavern overlooking the lake. Great menu and bar. Lots of space outside for lounging or watching the lake.

    Adequately biker friendly!

Its clientele are rich folks on vacation at the lake who never complain when bikers show up to drink at their bar. The managers sometimes look a bit nervous about it, but the staff are always cool mountain folk and often bike riders themselves.⁩ The bartender asked me about tattoos. Another of the kitchen staff stopped by to ask me about my gear, which he admired. The owner I don't know, but he's clearly a local history aficionado whom I suspect I'd get along with well. The whole place is full of pieces of local history, photographs from long ago in the mountains, historic weaponry as well as framed news clippings. It's a little pricey for the mountains, though it'd be cheap in a city. The food is always good, and they keep an interesting and rotating selection of local brews on tap.

Great local spot near the lake. The friend chicken sandwich was delicious, the fried plantains are not at all what you'd expect (read their description) but they were delicious. My friend wasn't a fan of the pasta and blackened chicken, especially for the price. Cozy, cabin-like atmosphere, nice servers.

Trish is an amazing bartender! She made fun drinks all night long and was so nice. The manager was helpful and fun to talk to as well. Chef John talked to us when they weren't busy and made us his famous crab cakes! They were amazing! The place filled up and got busy very quickly. Only reason 4 stars is the burger wasn't very good. We would 100 percent come back when in the area!

Here, I had the best Rib eye cheesesteak I've ever had in my 49 years and 10 month. I didn't even wanted to finish it. It was so good that I almost order a second one.

Food. Service. Ambiance. Excellent all the way round! We had the best fried green tomatoes anywhere! It's our thing Followed by incredible savory grilled shrimp and grits...too delicious to put into words here. Hubby had very tasty Cuban sandwich with best sweet potatoes I've ever had, as I stole some off his plate;) Also loved the music like we were in a speak easy. Then that view!!! Plus the owner Tim came by our table to welcome us and give us some history about the area. We will definitely come back often.

    Bread pudding

All 3 dishes were the absolute best. Definitely recommend the bread budding and fried green tomatoes. Perfection!!!!

We saw they had food too, mostly tapas style; but pretty extensive, so we ordered a few appetizers to share as well. We ordered the edamame which had truffle salt and soy sauce spices. It was a little messy, but really good, and a great deal at $7. We also ordered the bacon-wrapped scallops, ($15). There was a sweet Thai bourbon sauce on those; and the reviews were mixed. My sister thought they were too sweet and my daughter's boyfriend and my husband thought they were delicious! Although they do have a full bar; we only ordered beer & wine. The two wines ordered at the table were Old Soul Pinot Noir and a Sauvignon Blanc. Again prices were good at $7. Three of us had beer; Miller Lite & Michelob Ultra for just a few bucks each. Our visit was at 5:30 on a Friday and the place was just starting to fill up. They had limited seating due to the covid pandemic and there were tables, high tops, the bar area plus a patio. It was chilly on our visit, but there was a group on the patio taking advantage of the cool weather with the tower heater. There only appeared to be 2 employees out front; the bartender & one server.....they both did their best to keep up with orders as the place became busier and busier. I really liked this place & it has a great location right on the main highway. The prices were good and there were many options for eating and drinking with very affordable prices.

The menu has loads of choices for the most simple palette and the most sophisticated palette. One can certainly feel the passion love and dedication that Chef Johannes puts into his work. It was perfectly cooked and delicious. So tender.... My wife got the succulently light trout and was so pleased. I ordered a well priced and tasty bottle of Margaux wine. The desserts for sharing were the bread pudding and cobbler. They were delicious and devoured quickly. The whole experience was fantastic !
