I recently brought my vehicle into Firestone Grand Parkway for an oil change and had one of the best experiences I have ever had when dealing with auto care. The owner happened to be there and as my husband and I looked at his photos on the wall, he noticed us and came out of his office to talk to us. He was very pleasant and treated us like "old friends". Nowadays it is hard to find an establishment that takes the time to ask you how you are doing let alone spend time talking to you while you wait. I wish there were more real "family owned" businesses that remind me of the good days when merchants knew their customers. Not to mention, the oil change was done in less than 20 mins. I was very offended and put off by the Firestone Tires on Grand Parkway...there is a real taxidermy ELEPHANT LEG in the entrance, as well as trophy photos on the wall of the owner with the dead elephant (among other exotic animals - like a huge lion and a leopard - a delivery man came in while I was waiting and the owner actually bragged to the man about killing the leopard and lion himself). If that isn't reason enough to boycott this business altogether, they have also lied to my family about problems with our cars, I guess wanting us to spend more money on unnecessary repairs - we have a trusted family mechanic who we asked to take care of the issues instead of letting Firestone do it and after brief inspection he declared there was nothing wrong with the car, and the problems did not exist. I probably have more experience with this business than any other person ever. I have been coming to this location every month for the past 9 years to have routine maintenance done on my vehicle. Unfortunately, it's a company vehicle and this is the vendor they want me to use so I don't have a choice going elsewhere. If all you need is an oil change, they can do that. They can do tires and brakes too, but there are far cheaper options. I will warn you that they will not stand by any warranties. Also, there is only one skilled mechanic in the shop and if you get your tires rotated on the day he's not there you'll have issues. The mechanics do not know how to reset the tire lights on most newer vehicles and they will lie to you by saying you need to drive a few miles to reset it. I have seen them do this more than 20 times. They've even tried doing it to me as well. Tires are more expensive than most competitors. They can only minor mechanic work. My typical wait time for only an oil change is roughly 1-1.5 hours. I have had issues with shocks on two occasions. Once the brand new shock bent in half and they refused to uphold the warranty even though it had less than 500 miles on it. Like I said, oil changes are fine. I take my personal vehicle elsewhere if that's any indication. read more

And was charged 25.50 and I failed the test due to a Emissions problem. Took the car to a new shop down the street on mason road past the state inspection test. My wife and I came in to do a vehicle inspection for the Texas department of motor vehicles. We thought these people were legit, but definitely not. The guy pulled me aside to say that my car didn't pass, because 'tail light is cracked'- NOT broken. 'Cracked'. Works totally fine. He also said the tires were bald. And then said 'everything else looks good'. I got pretty mad because if he was going to fail me for a cracked light, he should of told me that right off the bat. Come back with a un cracked light otherwise you're going to fail. Pretty simple. But no, he was worried about collecting his $25 dollars for the inspection! He said 'you're still going to pay for the inspection...' Blah blah blah. He had the gall to try to sell me a tail light cover for $100.00+ dollars! PLUS $40.00 labor!??? What the...? Then when I told him that was too much for me he got really mad. Suddenly when he wrote up the inspection report now I have an 'emissions failure!?! WTf?! This is a total rip off! He controls the report and puts it all into the system and totally screws me over with this failed emissions report?!? This is a flawed system! And a corrupt mechanic shop! First everything else 'looks good' then all of the sudden 'major problems'? I think not. I highly recommend you stay away from here! There's a reason there's all these bad reviews on this shop! Very upset. Keep in mind I'm from out of State from a State inspection, so I do not know what to expect from this inspection and he knew it. I've attached a photo of the person that I dealt with. Don't know if he's the Owner on an employee. In any case, the service was unacceptable and, more importantly, unethical. Try Dillon's Automotive, instead. I found them to be very honest and competent. Certainly worth the trip. 4/2/2016 UPDATE: Got my tires for $150 done at Discount Tires with a warranty and everything. Got the OEM tail light on Amazon for $54 and free shipping with Prime. Received it in 2 days. Install took me about 6 mins (timed it) and now, if all goes well, I'll have my state inspection pass and be able to register my vehicle. read more

Up until my recent relocation back to Katy, I used Firestone exclusively for my auto maintenance and repairs and experienced a high level of service at a fair price on all four of my cars (admittedly, I like cars).This location unfortunately soured me on Firestone for a few reasons: 1. This is a franchise location versus a corporate owned location. While the staff emphasized they are 'family owned', the lack of electronic work orders and paperwork is odd in this day and age (Alldata, ROWriter, Mitchell, something besides pen and paper). 2. When the service was complete (in this case, a simple oil change) they refused to honor my coupon stating it was not for their location. I printed the coupon from their stores site within Firestones main site. 3. They recommended I replace the pads AND rotors on all four wheels because the pads were worn (true) and the rotors were 'not just out of specs, but shot'. They quoted me just over $850 for the work. Interestingly enough, I knew I needed new pads but I also knew my rotors were fine. After a second opinion, my belief was concerned - there was no need for rotors. The service writer put on a nice display of how important it was to get the brake job immediately and that it was unsafe for me and - more importantly - my son (who was with me) to operate the truck. Fortunately, I have access to my own ASE Techs (who I wouldn't ask to waste their time with an oil change) who called shenanigans on the assessment. Two hours and $150 later, I have new pads on all four wheels and an exceptionally sour taste in my mouth for this Firestone location. If you need repairs AND happen upon this shop, I STRONGLY recommend getting a second opinion. read more

These guys are so kind and so nice. My experience was fantastic! I called in the morning and they got me right in they went the extra mile and did extra things they didn't need to do. There's a young guy named Chris and he was very knowledgeable and super friendly and helpful. The manager is also very nice and cares for the customers. I will be back for sure read more

The folks here are focused on customer service. I had Ford look At my daughter's car while under extended warranty because it kept loosing speed. Ford replaced the transmission module not once but twice and still couldn't fix the problem. Took the car here and explained the issue and they gave me what they thought the issue was - they were right (ABS unit). So, being fed up with Ford I asked if they did warranty work and they said yes and then handled dealing with my warranty company. They got it fixed, came in on the holidays to give the vehicle back us (we were traveling). Great folks to work with. They are some of the worst business owners I believe I've ever seen. Terrel and the owner are two peas in a racist old rod. I asked what my diagnostic charge was covering, I was handed a preventative maintenance list with at least 30 standard checks, performed a 5 minute, on the ground check, never opened my hood once, told me $3,000, gave me the quote, then said we can't perform the rest of the diagnostic until you approve us to do the $3,000 repair.. I'm sorry what? So what am I really paying the $75 for? Well it's a standard half hour mechanic charge. Proceeded to yell at me that it's "none of my business what he charges for parts and rates... it's literally my business. I was promised this and this and didn't even get what I agreed to pay for. Proceeded to alter the agreement where my signature was and withhold my keys from me. Once I said I didn't want them to fix the repairs, my transmission plug was removed and my shifter cables was completely loose, preventing me from being able to put my truck in gear to get it on what now was my 3rd tow truck for the day.. TERRIBLE business habits, to top it off, they had no A/C in their waiting room. read more

Ok. So we came in here a few days ago and we had a debacle over the State inspection. It was mostly I think due to some apparent shadyness on how the owner communicated the information about the state inspections and instead of disclosing he would fail us right off the bat from a tail light which was working but had a hole through the red plastic. Which is just shady because if you want to keep business returning you would just say right away. Hey you're going to fail why don't you come back when you get that tail light fixed. Or whatever. He could of waived the $35 bucks and asked us to return after we fixed the items and we would of gladly have paid it then. I think the point is, it's mostly about the principle of the matter. That's all. I run the marketing on two businesses. We have 4 1/2 stars on one and 5 stars on the other in yelp. It's tough, yelp customers, were tougher than others customers. It's true. But that's why all merchant works extra hard to keep those stars high. I think they initially handled this incorrectly. As a matter of learning something from this. I recommend that the management provides a full step by step written explanation that the person has to read and initial before they agree to do the inspection. Why? Because that way the customer is educated on what is expected. And doesn't have a shit fit when you fail them for sown thing which seems petty. That's how you protect yourself from upsets with customers. I have to say. In my opinion, they have today handled things much better. As soon as I walked in, The re at front desk new exactly who I was. He was friendly, not hostile. When my Husband came in the day before yesterday the Rep who dealt with him was hostile and didn't handle things correctly. Avoid. Dishonest store. They did my alignment knowing my car required shim repair in the back wheel and that regular alignment won't fix the problem. Charged me $60 then tells me it will improve significantly even without back shim. It did not it made it worse. Went back and they told me it won't make a difference if you don't add shim. THEN why not tell me that the first time and instead charge me a regular alignment? read more

Today, the engine light came up and dealership told me that it is due to some issue with the tires. I normally get the oil changes done at the dealership but we bought a oil change card with other services from firestone because it was a great deal but now I cannot expect a quick express on the way to or from work. Terrible customer service, zero common sense, sloppy, old and unorganized. Facility was dirty and had a smell like cat piss. I called and made an appointment and got there 20 min early for an oil change. My name was not on the schedule and no other customers in the shop. Apparantly these guys were upset already. Because he snatched my key and told me to wait. Priviledged attitude as if I needed them. My daughters said dad why are they so mean to you. Told her some people are miserable inside and take it out on other races because they hate themselves so much. I ask for my key back ill go elsewhere. He said get out. After giving them a piece of my mind they then asked me to leave "boy" or else they will call the police. Get outta here boy. I said what did you say and he said it again 3 more times. I will never ever attend this Firestone or Any Firestone in my lifetime even if I was a good ole boy. I will share this negative experience with all I know. They dont deserve your money or business. First of all I called ahead of time to get a quote on how much to replace the front rotors on my old 2000 Dodge Dakota. The number given to me was $61 each. When I get there after looking at the truck the number went to $247 total and $300 if I wanted brakes done as well. Way too much for that old of a vehicle and then tried to get me to do other repairs totaling over $500. Got mad when I refused and wanted to go elsewhere. I went to auto zone and bought both rotors for $75. Took both rotors to a different shop and they exchanged them both on my vehicle for $75. So it cost me a total of $150. Do the math people they were charging me almost double.. the same person in the photo in other persons review is the same guy.. bad news for this place.. it should be illegal to lie to customers about repairs for vehicles. People work hard for their money and these businesses don't have no remorse ripping people off.... read more
