Jon and his team do FANTASTIC work. I brought in my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 86K miles on it for a full interior/exterior/engine detail. The Jeep sat in our yard under a huge Doug Fir and was covered in pine needles and had gobs of sap all over. I dropped the Jeep off at 7am and had it back at 3:30pm the same day and it has NEVER LOOKED BETTER! The Jeep didn't even look this good new. Jon and his team cleaned every nook and cranny inside and out...doors jambs, center console crevices, under seats, floor mats and under floor mats. Everything in a holding spot...coins, napkins, maps, etc were removed and planed in little bins. They are absolutely meticulous! All of this for an extremely fair price. I brought In my 2019 Nissan frontier to have the interior only detailed. I pre authorized 6 hours of work after talking to them on the phone. I just finished a road trip with dogs. It's a mess. Dog pee, dog hair. Fast food from the trip ect. And asked that it is all addressed. That's the entire purpose of my visit. Dropped it off. Took a Lyft home. That was at 9am. I picked my vehicle up at 5:40pm. Same day. They close at 5pm. When I picked up my vehicle they said they worked on it for 4 1/2 hours. Remember. Interior only. I paid for the cleaning ($270 ish). Tipped $60 before even seeing the work that was done. I drive it home and it seems good. Not perfect. Seat tracks still have dirt and dog hair, passenger seat still has stains. Rear passenger seat still has a large stain and the entire vehicle still smells like dog pee coming from the stain every time I enter. ***I'm not sure what I paid for*** I called, went over all my issues, left you with the vehicle for an entire day. After we set up the "appointment ". I understand I'm not driving a Lamborghini or Bugatti or BMW so you treat me like I'm a lower class citizen but I'm still a paying customer. Who also tipped. I did call and they offered to shampoo the rear seat again. I'm busy. I made an appointment to have this addressed the FIRST time. That's how you make a customer for life. Im very irritated at your service. I look you up and your shop gives off the impression that you would do a good service. But from the actual service received I can say otherwise. Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I was in Disneyland and California adventure. Like I said. I'm busy. Wish you guys could have done it right the first time. read more

If you are getting your car detailed anywhere in Portland, get it here! I cannot speak more highly of my experience with Uptown Auto Detailing. First off, they saved me a trip gave me a quote over the phone when most others require to see your car beforehand. Secondly, I was quoted (and paid) $160 less than the other two detailers I went to. I went here to get a car detailed I was planning to sell, and it came out looking brand new, it was exceptional, especially for a dog-owner who had a dog in the car constantly, and a pretty inconsistent car-washer. The thing that blew me away was that I had mentioned I was selling and when I came back to pick up my car the owner had called around and gotten quotes for me and gave me advice on what to list it at, he even checked the carfax for me and told me what I should expect to get for it. This had a huge impact because I'm pretty car clueless. Seriously, just go here. Even if it's not in your neighborhood. I paid $215 for interior/exterior/motor detailing. I didn't recognize my car without looking at the license plate. Not exaggerating. It was caked with layers of moss and scum from living under giant maples at the base of Forest Park. I had given up car washes years ago when they became irrelevant. It had dents and paint from getting side swiped. From years of going to the coast with kids the interior was a sandbox, and that was just the begining. Under the floorboard of the trunk was 2+ cubic feet of mice nestings (Forest Park). Could it get any worse? I am utterly flabbergasted. My car looks like a certified used car at the Toyota dealership. The work done was nothing short of amazeballs. Called them and they answered immediately, very reasonable at $55 an hour for their services. Got a stain out of my car that had been bothersome for a week and it now smells and looks good as new! My fiancé surprised me with a new Audi A6, and spilled gas in the trunk a day later. Don't ask, it's a long story! Oh, did I mention this was a week before our wedding, and two weeks before we were set to drive cross-country from Oregon to New Jersey? And the smell was BAD. Like, killing brain cells bad. A quick google search confirmed the feeling in the pit of my stomach: basically, nothing can be done for the smell of spilled gas. Coffee grounds masked the smell a bit, but the only thing that may work was leaving the car open for a long time. And time was the only thing we didn't have. We spent $150 for a detail at the overly-confident Audi dealership (they shouldn't have touched this job, a referral would have been the ethical thing to do) and the gas smell was slightly less pungent, but probably because they had left it open in their garage for 3 days. In fact, whatever chemicals they used made the smell a bit worse! We were then referred to Jon at Uptown, and when I explained the urgency of our situation, he said to bring it in and he'd do as much as he could, and also house our car while we drove a rental to Walla Walla to get married over the weekend, so our car could be aired out in a secure place. When we arrived he pointed out obvious gas residue that Audi had missed, quoted us $40 for washing the trunk and spare tire as best he could. And he would house it for no charge! After 5 days of airing out and a good clean, the smell was considerably better and he didn't even charge us! This guy is a pro and knows what good customer service is! If we hadn't moved to Jersey, we would have been repeat customers for detailing! read more

After reading a number of very positive reviews online about Uptown Auto, I brought my car in to have a full exterior detail. Business was evidently bustling, and I had to schedule two weeks in advance. Very impressive for a company that doesn't even have a website. On the day of my appointment, I rolled into their garage and parked amidst a variety of vehicles covering both ends of the spectrum. There were well cared for daily drivers and bonafide super cars--a late model Jetta parked next to a new model Carrera , a Hyundai something or other sitting comfortably close to a Ferrari 458 Italia, and lots of makes and models that fall between. All of them sparkled. It was clear they put the same level of effort into all of their work, not just the high-rollers. When they were done with my car (which is black, and hadn't been detailed since last year) it looked every bit as good as I'd hoped, and better than I expected. It was glossy and inky and shiny and made me excited to drive it again. These guys are professionals, and I will be returning to them. I recommend Uptown Auto to anyone who has an automobile and wants it to look as beautiful as it can without replacing parts. read more

I just bought a Toyota Highlander and looked where I could have my car waxed. I called around a bunch of places and found a wide range of prices. I found out that the businesses that charge little, like $65 to wash and wax, use a "spray wax," which doesn't last very long. Uptown Auto Detail gave me a good price on a "hand wax" and even cleaned the inside. It looks great and John advised me that I won't need another until summer. read more

I don't know what I can say about Uptown Auto Detail other than the fact that I have been going here for the past 10-years and I have never been disappointed. The quality of their work is excellent! This is mainly due to the fact that their turnover rate in their employees are minimal in comparison to other shops and these guys take pride in their work. I own a 2011 E-class and every time I go to pick it up it reminds me of the first time I rolled it out of the basement of Mercedes Benz of Portland. I can drop my vehicle off before 9am and pick it up mid-afternoon. I pretty much leave it up to Jonathan to decide what my car needs as I trust him immensely. He's never steered me wrong and does a beautiful job at pimping out my ride which reminds me... I need to make another appointment. read more

The work they did on the interior of my car was incredible! I do a lot of drawing and carry the charcoal dust from the studio on my clothes into my car interior. The pale beige leather drivers seat looked grimy grey when I left it with Uptown and it looked *brand new* when I got it back! Short review:The fantastic reviews are all incredibly well deserved. Jon and his team did a great job taking the skunk smell (yes, I ran over a skunk - didn't kill the little guy, but boy, did he make his presence known!) out of my C300. Uptown has a full-vehicle, "tenting" ozone treatment (as far as I know, the only one available in town) for dealing with unwanted smells and it works. You leave your car over the weekend and by Monday, your car is good as new! Now for the longer review: Happy Valentine's Day to me; I ran over a skunk! Thankfully, it wasn't the neighbor's cat, but within a minute, I knew this was going to be a pretty terrible day. No animal parts on the car, but a very strong smell permeated the inside and outside. I quickly drove to the car wash...no luck. Desperate, I called Jon at Uptown and he suggested I come by so he could assess the damage. Jon has a great sense of humor and that helped because I was feeling pretty distraught about getting the smell out. What I really appreciated was how he took a good walk around the car and helped me figure out where the skunk smell was localized. Instead of recommending a full detail (which frankly he could have recommended for a lot of money), he said that in all honesty, the smell was localized in my rear passenger wheel well. He suggested that I call the dealership and replace the felt liner of the well. Then he suggested a full undercarriage power wash, and because he didn't have the ability to the wash at his location, he gave me a competitor's name. I really think it takes a *lot* of integrity for a business owner to say, "Look, I don't have the tools, but here's a guy I can recommend..." It shows that the owner is looking out for his customers and his company. He gave me all kinds of good, *free* advice and I'm extremely grateful for his expertise. In the end, I had the wheel liner replaced and asked Jon to do his weekend ozone treatment for my car (it was only $50!). I'm happy to say that the smell is 90-95% gone. I wish there were more business owners like Jon out there, who take pride in helping customers and sharing their knowledge and just being an all-around cool dude. (His staff is pretty awesome too!). We were worried, not sure how much damage had been done along the way. After the service, the car looked better than it had when we bought it from the dealer, and the price was reasonable (and less than I was quoted over the phone). WOW! AMAZING! I am one happy customer, actually beyond happy! Had my 1 month old new car get some pretty bad sprinkler system, well water on it. It covered much of the front, roof, right side, the windows, and windshield. I tried to wash it myself and dried it immediately. But it was still bad. Looked online and found the positive reviews for this place. Just picked up my car and it looks better than brand new! The windows look like they are all the way down, they are so clear. My Passat had been sitting outside for 6 months waiting for a few parts to pass DEQ. As the months came and went, my poor car gathered more and more dirt and moss. The fact that it's white just added to my sorrow. When I was finally able to get it fixed, I got in and realized to my horror that pieces of the black interior were turning white with mold. My car's colors were inverting. It was turning black (and green) on the outside and white on the inside. Once I saw the mold my heart really sank because I know the kind of irreparable damage it can cause. I pulled the seat belt out to buckle and everything that had been coiled up behind the interior panel was covered in splotches of mold. Knowing my car needed much more TLC than a car wash could provide I started to explore different shop options. After reading reviews on various shops and making a few phone calls, I decided to give Uptown Auto Detail a call. John was extremely easy to talk to on the phone and was very reassuring in his knowledge of where any potential problems with the mold may lie with my make and model. That phone call made my decision even easier and I took the car in. When I came back to pick up the car I was shocked. Other people have said in their reviews that their cars looked brand new and they really aren't exaggerating. My car literally looked show-room quality. On the outside, I had been most worried about the moss degrading the quality of all the window liners but when i looked closely, it looked like he had replaced all of the liners with brand new pieces. There was absolutely no trace that dirt and moss had ever been in all the little spaces and places you think they will never come out of. A couple winters ago my car was parked at Meadows and when I came back later in the day, I noticed that something had come too close to my car and shaved off all the paint down to the metal on the outside of my wheel wells. I hadn't wanted to pay for new fenders so I've just been living with it. When I took the car in I didn't mention it because I didn't think it could be fixed but when I came back, Jon had gone back and done touch-ups to that area that were so good, I could barely tell anything had happened. On the inside, every trace of mold was gone. The seat belts that had previously seemed like mold was eating them away, looked brand new. The beginning-to-mold carpet looked brand new. Everything was back to how it looked when I bought the car. I drove away an extremely happy customer, knowing I would be back for any kind of cleaning and referring anyone who asks. My only regret is not taking a picture of the 3" plant that had been growing from the lining around my trunk. read more

Ever since then she's just been a means to get from point A to point B. But then some nasty cement composite dripped all over the roof (thanks to the garage I park my car in) and I needed to get this off before it ate through the paint. I am so impressed with this place.
