Poolside rooftop bar. Writing this review based on our visit during the month of November. Weather was cool, 70 degrees, with a nice breeze. This poolside bar offers a shaded area with bar stools as well as poolside service. Cocktail menu is small, but for a reason. Ingredients were carefully selected and you can tell effort and thought were put into crafting the drink selection. I sampled 3 of the crafted cocktails on the menu. Each drink stood out and had its own unique flavor profile. They are light, but strong at the same time. These are excellent drinks if your looking to hang by the pool or share some laughs with friends while taking in the breathtaking views of coconut grove, the ocean, and Miami epic skyline. We did order 2 appetizers, the conch fritters and hummus. The conch was crispy and perfectly cooked inside, the aoli sauce complimented it perfectly. It came with 6 fritters and they went down very well. Not greasy or under filled. The hummus was delicious and the baked pita bread complimented it well. Sip Sip is an oasis in the desert. Ive been here twice. It's at the top of the Mayfair hotel. The drinks are good and are about $17/$18 each. Ive tried the Jet Pilot and Saturn. The conch fritters did leave much to be desired. They were full of conch and fried well, the taste just wasn't there. Being nestled in a Bahamian founded neighborhood, that's something that should be good. I like going here and it is a vibe. If you can navigate the annoying elevators at the Mayfair Hotel to their rooftop pool and restaurant/bar (Sipsip)... you will arrive at (what was for us) a delightful view, vibe, food and drink. You do have to walk through a gauntlet of beautiful young people in their speedos and bikinis by the pool but on the other side is a delicious food and drink menu. Maybe I was really hungry after a long travel day but The ceviche and crudo were among the best I've ever had. The cocktails were fresh and creative. The coconut cake dessert was incredible. Best of all was the service... calm, timely and efficient. We arrived at 3pm on a Friday. I can imagine it being quite a scene during peak hours so plan accordingly. read more

Cute, colorful, and vibrant spot at the pool on top of Mayfair House hotel! There are tables with umbrellas and views of the skyline and bay as well as a bar. I ordered fries and shrimp ceviche with plantains. The shrimp ceviche was a huge portion and was flavorful. The fries were also a large portion. It wasn't busy when I was there but servers were friendly and attentive. Only recommendation I have is better to go boxes.. cardboard box wasn't the best for to go ceviche. I would not return just for the restaurant but a day pass at the pool in conjunction or staying at the hotel, definitely worth checking out! read more

Really good rooftop/poolside bar. We purchased a day pass for the pool here through resort pass and were very happy with SipSip. My Cesar salad was so good and I loved the lettuce they used. My friend ordered fish and chips which she said was very good also. Service was a little slow even though we were one of a few people up there during the day. My drink was very good but not strong, so I wouldn't come here looking to get hammered lol. Overall though, a solid rooftop on top of the hotel. I don't think I would go out of my way to come here, but it's definitely a nice perk if you book a day pass for the pool! read more

The aesthetic is a whole island vibe and really makes you feel like you're on a five star vacation (even just for a couple hours). The cabana beds are a great option for private lounge seating, and the pool is the perfect size for the space. SipSip also has a full drink and food menu, and tried the fish dip, ceviche, and even the beef hot dog was divine. I worked at Sipsip while staying at the Mayfair. The service was excellent and attentive, I was even able to connect with our server over our New York routes. I got the Island Chicken Skewers and the sweet chili glaze was the perfect amount of spice for me. I loved the views from the rooftop, you can either see the water or Coconut Grove depending which way you're looking out. I would definitely recommend this spot as a midday remote work station. Sip sip is the cutest little rum bar on the rooftop of the Mayfair. I've been a few times and the water views of the Grove Marina are excellent. As for drinks, I've gotten piña coladas here and an Aperol spritz. Both were solid, as this gives vacation drink vibes all the way. They also offer food, and I love their fish dip. Regardless of if you are staying in the hotel you can enjoy this rooftop bar. As the weather cools down this is a great spot to enjoy some drinks outdoors. read more

I was in the Coconut Grove and wanted to try SipSip's happy hour. I've been once before and really enjoyed it at night but wanted to experience it during the day. Came by around 530pm for their Friday happy hour that's from 5-7pm. SipSip is a rooftop bar located in the Mayfair Hotel. The rooftop is very nice and has a lovely view of the water. There's seating in the bar and tables around the area. The staff was kind and the menu included cocktails, beer, wine and some bites. So happy we got to take part in this Yelp event at the Sip Sip Calypso Rum Bar! I have been wanting to visit the Mayfair in Coconut Grove for the longest time so this was a perfect venue for me. The vibe was friendly and fun, enjoying the ground floor level of the hotel with drinks and appetizers before the weather improved and we took the party upstairs. The views of the ocean there were amazing! The bartenders and servers were great, bringing us all kinds of yummy dishes and mixing excellent drinks - my favorite were the fish tacos and the margaritas. The DJ was really good too. Truly a hidden gem. We're fans of rooftop bars and I happened to see this one mentioned in an article that lists the better ones in Miami. Sipsip is located on the roof of the Mayfair Hotel, adjacent to CocoWalk in Coconut Grove. Very laid back and chill vibe with a bit of a Caribbean/Polynesian feel to it, featuring well-poured drinks that are created by friendly and outgoing staff. The cocktail menu offers a good variety, and ours were $15 each which is about average for better Miami area bars. While the views from the rooftop here are not the same as the ones from bars atop the taller buildings in Brickell, the view is decent and there was a constant breeze coming off the bay which was refreshing. To boot, the entire Mayfair hotel is pet friendly, so our pup was welcome here at Sipsip, and the staff even gave him a dish of water and lots of attention. Sipsip also offers a food menu, but we came here after we'd already had dinner, so we didn't try anything. The operating hours here on Yelp most likely need to be updated, as the bartender told us they're now extending their hours on weekend evenings to be open a bit later. read more

Came to Sipsip after the King Mango Strut for their food and drink specials. I tried the Hemingway Daiquiri and the frozen strawberry daiquiri, which were both very tasty. My boo + friends ordered the wings (which they raved about), mahi sliders and fish dip with plantain chips. I only tried the fish dip when it came to food, and it was pretty good! I think the regular prices are a bit steep, so I'd definitely come when they have happy hour or other types of specials. The atmosphere is really chill and laidback with an amazing view. Yelp event review: this newly renovated roof top area definitely has a stunning view of the grove and a relaxong vibe. We had delicious fish dip with hot and crispy maduros and veggies. The fish tacos were also fresh with lightly breaded fish that made me want to eat 4 more! The bartenders were friendly, fast and ready to take care of our large group. Margaritas were great and the frozen drinks looked refreshing as well. I would recommend this spot for those who are grabbing drinks and apps, and sitting back to enjoy the scene. What a spot! Although it is incredibly hard to find as you traverse the halls of the Mayfair hotel & the private elevator to find this rooftop bar, your hard work will pay off! The vibes are immaculate, they are dog friendly, and they have an awesome modern architectural fireplace they light at night. It began to sprinkle as me and my friends family sat outside enjoying cocktails, but the employees graciously covered us with umbrellas to the best of their ability. Unfortunately, it is the pool bar of the hotel catering to their guests and playing the BeeGees and other old school American music. View from the rooftop and setting were great, but the food and service were bad. No one was on hand to seat us at a table when we arrived. The drinks took 20 min to arrive, food took even longer. Mahi sliders were teeny tiny. I asked for no peppers on them and they came with them anyway. Fish dip was very cold and a bit hard. The drink (dark n stormy) was the only good thing. Server didn't check on us to see how we were doing, if we wanted another round, nor even to bring the check. When I walked up to the bar to ask our server for the check, it was handed to me without a "sorry" or even "thank you." And the bartender complained about where I was standing. In summary, for drinks at the bar, this place may be great; but for food and sit down service, you're better off elsewhere. read more
