I also learned that the owner attended culinary school in Cape Town, South Africa, and spent years cooking while traveling around the world. It was interesting to see how some of those global influences show up on the menu. Even the name "Lekker" comes from a South African word that's often used to describe something delicious or enjoyable, which felt pretty fitting after that meal.
