This was mine and my wife's first time going to this Chinese buffet. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and then sat at a table immediately. The place had a nice ambiance with a sculpture and indoor pond as soon as you walk in the door. They were also playing nice, soft music you can enjoy your meal to. They have a very large selection of food on their buffet, ranging from some of your traditional American Chinese choices such as fried rice, lo mein noodles, chicken and broccoli, etc. They also offer a host of your more traditional American foods such as pizza, Mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes and gravy. They also offer a nice selection of different sushi rolls. All of the food seems nice and fresh, with steam coming off most of the food. I thought the taste of the food was pretty good. Everything tasted fresh and had good flavors to it. I personally didn't have any, but my wife said the Mac and cheese was not very good, tasting like "noodles soaked in milk". The sushi had good flavors to it, and the rice seemed fresh (not hard like some sushi rolls that sit out for a while at a buffet). The staff were very attentive, grabbing our used plates at our table, and bringing us refills on the drinks. It also seemed like there was always a member of staff going around the buffet making sure all of the food was staying fresh, and refilling the food that was getting low. Typical Chinese buffet. Ok if you crave multiple things and don't want to pay high bill. I came here Wednesday around 6pm. Restaurant wasn't full and I got seats right away. Staff quickly brings out drink and cleans plates. I tried probably almost half of the food. Some are okay, some are dry and hard to chew. Food is warm, not hot. Warning, Warning, Everyone be alert, I went there with my family to eat, when I received the bill (I had given the waitress a $25 tip already) I noticed a #17 service charge. I asked her what this was for and she said because we had more then 6 people. I went and asked to speak to the manager, a young and rude young man tells me that they charge everyone a service charge who have more then 6 people because sometimes people don't tip. so they charge a service charge, I told him that I gave the waitress $25 and if I should ask for my money back, being that they are automatically charging a tip and he said go ahead. On top of the charge, they ask for another tip when you get your receipt. I asked that where is a sign saying that they charge a service charge for tables with more than 6 people, and he said that they did not have to display it. I ate lunch there on 8/21/2025. I was very disappointed that in the 1 1/2 hours I was there the wonton soup had no wontons in the broth. I checked a number of times during lunch and the wontons were never replenished. Also, the wait staff never stopped by the table to ask if we needed a drink refill. My sister and I went there for lunch today, not too long after they opened. Everything and I do mean everything on the buffet was cold. It was so cold, that I had to ask the hostess to put in the microwave for. They never apologized for it happening, and they did not offer any kind of discount. Service was absolutely horrible. They don't let you access the drink fountain, so you need to ask them for the drink you want. My mom went to ask for diet soda because my dad has diabetes and can't consume much sugar. The waitress there had the audacity to still mix diet and regular coke together before handing it to my mom. All that aside, comparing Chinese buffet to Chinese buffet, I would say this is the nicest one around. Rather than getting ice cream for dessert, they have chocolate and vanilla pudding, and those are good. The salad bar also has a decent selection, and if you tell them something is getting empty or cold, they will refill it. While I'm there, somehow the fries seems to get emptied. :) I think I've used the word decent in this review multiple times, so that's what I'm going to go with. Approximately 1.5 weeks ago, this restaurant had a visit from the board of health. I came a few days after that and was surprised to see all the food was hot as required by state code. I asked an employee if they had an inspection and he admitted he had. I was happy as hell, so happy that I came back today (10/4/22)! Well, guess what, half the meat products were cold AGAIN! This msg is for the ROCHESTER BOARD OF HEALTH, PLEASE, be informed that they are back to there old ways. It's time you do another inspection and if not in compliance, shut them down! Would rate with half a star but reviews must have a minimum of 1 star. Upon entering the main entrance, the temperature was noted to be quite muggy and sticky. The floors appeared visibly, and i found myself questioning when may have been the last cleaning? We were led by the waitress to a table off and toward the rear of the dining room. Dinner this evening was as a family, party of 6. We placed our order for beverages and were then directed to help ourselves to the buffet. The first table had several of the typical chinese dishes~General Tso Chicken, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Vegetable Lo Mein, Vegetable Fries Rice, Red Pepper sautéed vite sized shrimp in a lenon butter sauce, Grilled Chicken Kabobs, Chicken and Broccoli in a soy sauce base, whole baked bone fish, among 3 or 4 additional entrees. Then at the next hot buffet table there were deep fried round biscuits covered in white granulate sugar, Egg Drop soup, Hot & Sour soup, beef wonton soup, Panko covered deep fried shrimp, beef and scallions, Asparagus, Spinach soufflé covered with mozzarella, Crab Rangoons, whole deep fried crawfish with eyes/rails & all, another buffet table with raw Sushi, garden salad ingredients-iceberg lettuce, onions, green peppers,, mushrooms, tomatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, various dressings, and a final buffet table with coconut cookies, banana cake, coco mocha cake, glazed bananas, pineapple tidbits, red & orange jello, red grapes, banana pudding, chocolate pudding, orange wedges, and vanilla/chocolate/strawberry ice cream for desserts with vanilla wafers or cookies. One of the entrees i took a large serving of was deep fried calamari. Upon returning to our table and attempting to eat it, i shockingly became aware it was semi-frozen and distastefully cold. Highly upset i informed the waitress whom chuckled, and then walked away. Trying to make the best of an unexpected situation, i attempted to try other options from the buffets. With each entree we found more and more disappointing surprises and did indeed attempt to inform staff whom didn't say or do anything to appease the problems. Refills for our drinks were handled by waitresses and waiters, of whom took out used glasses and refilled them at the soda fountain. At one point my daughter's pink lemonade was mistakenly fulled with unsweetened tea and given to her in my boyfriend's cup. As though that werent bad enough, my Diet Pepsi cup had been refilled with Pepsi and mistakenly been served to another family member of a completely different party. As i ovserved this error i also notifed the waitress, and instead of going to retrieve my used soda glass from the other table, she turned around and got me a new glass of Pepsi. As i shared with my boyfriend and the manager overseeing the restaurant~not the owner whom usually attends to the dining room & guests-i was disgusted and beyond disappointed. There was no attempt to resolve or appease the very serious infractions, and yet instead the manager stated the bill would remain unchanged and totaled $116.97 for our party of 6~4 adults, 1 child, and 1 senior citizen. I told the manager that was outrageous considering all the concerns and lack of consumable entrees. I told him we would not be back, to which he responded to shrugging his shoulders. We will NOT be returning and i intend to contact the NYS department of health and inform them of everything, in hopes of forcing corrective measures to protect our community's safety and well being. read more

Stopped on the way home last night to have dinner with a friend. Place was kind of quiet at 5:30, seated right away, host and server were pleasant. It's kind of run down looking, but seemed clean. There were plenty of food choices to select from. I only eat the Chinese foods, they seemed fresh and turned over pretty well. The American foods (pizza, fries, desserts, etc) seemed kind of old. I'm wary about Chinese buffets in general. In fact, i'm also not known to dole out low stars to places, but this place really was too stale and brown in food. Buffets are all the same....They usually have the same spread of coconut shrimp, general Tso's chicken, a little over cooked, sitting out too long spreads from a Panda Express menu, same mass boxed stale tasting tiramisus, ice creams that don't melt, won ton soup, egg drop soup, and if you're lucky sushi that hopefully isn't a mesh of cheap ingredients into a roll of rice and seaweed. This is one of those, but the random gem they have here is a giant bowl of sashimi grade salmon sitting around that is quickly replenished... it is bizarre to have one luxury item like that amidst the other lower grade foods here. There's even a little gift shop in the front selling cheap baubles and overhead playing Chinese pop music usually from the 2012-2015 era. Before I get critical, I will say, that tub of sashimi salmon sitting around is a little shocking. Delicious and if you're a huge raw fish junkie like me, you find this worth 1 more star than all the collateral damage up ahead... it was amazing... esp in a place like Rochester where seafood really isn't up to par. Hot bar: when you walk in and you're hungry, you're first excited by the 6 large bars of food, thinking the diversity is great! However, as you peruse the items, you realize that 3/4 of it is a little too brown/too stale/over sauced for real enjoyment. You start to wonder if the fried items were just leftover from the afternoon and how much of the food here is warmed up and extra sauced from the afternoon. You are a little relieved that the vegetables are actually green still and that there is still some fresh respite in the stir fry section with vegetables. Garlic string beans, some saucy gooey chinese veggies mix with chicken with various creative labelings are all over the place. Some authentic stuff you may find are the whole steamed fish (Tilapia is my guess), ribs, pork knuckles, and maybe the siu mai (but honesty people forget about that and it all sticks together then you lift the lid to take a look). You have the usual spread of low mein, white rice, noodles. For soups you have your spread of wonton soup and egg drop soup and maybe sweet and sour soup, though you wonder if all CHinese restaurants just buy some soup mix since they all taste the SAME no matter what coast you go to. Cold bar.... you wonder how long that mayo drenched lobster salad or mayo drenched anything has been out for a while. Listeria starts to crawl in front of your eyes. I recommend avoiding the cold eats bar esp those who do not have strong stomaches, b/c I suspect food poisoning likelihood here is higher than other parts of the restaurant. Desserts: your usual came a giant box pre sliced tiramisu (geez, again do all Chinese buffets just get their food from one factory out there?? why do they have the SAME tiramisu, mousey stale desserts, bright pink creams and coconut macaroons?? Would I come back here? Honestly not unless I've run out of options here in vibrant Rochester, but I would come back for my unlimited salmon in the back corner!
