I visited Golden Corral with my residents, and I am honestly beyond disappointed and frustrated with the overall experience. First, I want to give credit where it is due Antoinette our waitress, was absolutely amazing. She was attentive, respectful, and did her best to provide good service despite the environment she was working in. Mrs Brown was also very sweet and kind, and both of them carried themselves professionally. Now with that said, everything else about this visit was unacceptable. The overall aesthetics of this location were horrible. The carpet was visibly dirty, the entire establishment smelled extremely unpleasant, and at times it had an odor that was honestly nauseating. It gave off a strong impression of poor sanitation and lack of upkeep. For a place that serves food, that is completely unacceptable especially for a public dining environment. What makes this even worse is that I brought residents with me, and I felt embarrassed and concerned the entire time. This is not a setting that feels safe, clean, or appropriate for vulnerable individuals. It was uncomfortable, unwelcoming, and frankly disgusting. No matter how good the service from Anita and Miss Brown was, it cannot make up for how poorly maintained this restaurant is. Cleanliness is not optional in the food industry it is the bare minimum and this location failed badly. I would not recommend this establishment until serious improvements are made to cleanliness, maintenance, and overall environment. read more

First, the place was extremely dirty, cobwebs all over the corners and ceiling, a thick layer of dust all over surfaces like ledges, and don't get me started on the bathrooms. Double Yuck. My favs were the fried chicken, mashed potatoes, fries, and surprisingly the steak, it was a cheap cut but the chef cooked it great. The bread pudding was great, but my kids found hair in the ice cream and the salad, it was black hair when my kids are blonde. My experience at Moo'd Burger Bar was extremely disappointing and honestly very uncomfortable. When we were seated, the table was dirty. When we politely mentioned it, we were met with attitude. We were also rushed to place our order before we even had a chance to look through the menu. I ordered a milkshake with liquor and specifically asked beforehand if I could get a to-go cup if I couldn't finish it. The waitress told us that would be fine. Later, when I couldn't finish the drink and asked for the to-go cup, I was suddenly told no. What made the situation even more concerning is that my friend ordered the exact same milkshake and was allowed to get a to-go cup for hers with no issue. On top of that, instead of the original waitress speaking with us directly, a Black waitress was sent over to talk to us, which made the situation feel even more uncomfortable and dismissive. Between the dirty table, the attitude when we spoke up, being rushed to order, and being told something different after we already ordered, the service was extremely unprofessional. The inconsistency in how we were treated left us feeling very disrespected and unwelcome. Sitting here at Golden Corral in 2025 is a far different experience than in years gone by. It is one of our "go to" destinations when my dad comes to visit from out of town. He loves the buffet experience. The food is satisfying. Fresh strawberries. Crispy (not floppy) bacon. The eggs are good depending on if you can get some from the middle of the pan. All the veggies at the salad bar look fresh and tantalizing. Dad had the grits (good) and sausage gravy with biscuit (not bad). The only major downside is the location is showing its age HEAVILY. I'm not sure if this is a post-pandemic situation or not. But the carpets are worn and coming up in some areas. All of the booths have a weathered look to the wood, and many of the upholstered seats have rips and tears in them. The outside of the building have wooden decor blocks along the roofline that look to have mostly rotted off or worn away. The windows needed to be cleaned. A refresh (admittedly probably somewhat pricey) could do a long way to making the place feel more inviting. I'm unsure whether its a situation where the location doesn't do enough revenue to "justify" it; but as the old saying goes- you have to spend money to make money. read more

One of the biggest things that this place can fix right off, the bat is making sure that the place is clean a lot of trash on the floor but that was due to some filthy customers that were eating here that don't know how to eat . It wasn't that busy when I arrived so the table should have been cleaned up in advance before people were arriving. I only had one waiter that actually came to me and asked me if I wanted a refill on my drink the entire time I was there. The staff sits around with customers and talks instead of work. Another thing that they could do a lot better on is actually knowing when to rotate the food. The white rice was super hard. When we're in Henrietta, we usually hit up Asian restaurants. But today, I had a craving for buffet so we decided to try Golden Corral. I was able to find PLENTY of vegetarian things to eat: carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, peas, mushrooms, pinto beans, 'mexican rice', Mac and cheese, a cheesy rice dish with veggies, mashed potatoes. My favorite was the carrots. They were soft and seasoned nicely. I also loved the cauliflower but that might be because I just love cauliflower. It is so rare to be able to eat cauliflower outside (that's not indian). My partner are meat and he was surprised at how good the steak was. The salad bar had fresh lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, green bell peppers. I liked (pumpkin?) seeds for extra protein and blue cheese. I think it could use some more variety like some garbanzo beans but I was fine with what I got. We tried the soft served ice and were pleasantly surprised. Service was good. The people were nice. This was a mixed bag of experiences. First time there. I did not notice any cleanliness issues that were disturbing to me. The staff weren't rude, but the service was minimal. There is a lot of seating and it is comfortable. The Southern staples were overall good. I liked the hush puppies, breaded shrimp, chicken and dumplings, baked chicken legs, fried breaded chicken wings, meatloaf, and yeast rolls. The salad bar had overall fresh items, plenty of dressing options, and everything was tasty. That was a highlight. There was some French toast that had been sitting out that wasn't fresh. The carnitas pork didn't have much flavor. The carving station seemed unmanned. Desserts were decent. The frosting on the chocolate cake was rich but the cake was dry. The carrot cake was decent. The highlights were the bread pudding and peach cobbler. If you are looking for a salad bar experience, not a bad place to go. Prices were higher than I anticipated. About $22 for each adult for Saturday lunch and soda was $3.99 each. Just makes me think we could have gone to Texas Roadhouse for a decent bowl of salad (versus salad bar), delicious rolls, steak and southern side and we probably would have paid thr same amount or less. read more

I always struggle with getting his thick salty paste down my throat, but with the help of everything at Golden Corral, I was able to get it down just fine. I had the pot roast, which was all fat, and it reminded me of when I'm nose to bush with my clients. The gravy tasted similar to them too. With how sticky the tables were, it was just like how I remember during those late nights in my 20s, good times. Real talk though, everything is salty and oily. It's some of the worst food I've ever had. Steak tasted like fish???? Pot roast was ONLY fat, fried chicken tasted like straight OIL, prime rib (i think?? literally NONE of the name tags were on the correct place) was dry and inedible, the rice was salty (how do you make rice salty???), the dessert tasted like straight sugar water. Basically they have four islands of buffet choices -salads / meat varieties/ Asian-Mexican/-fried items/ Desert island with ice cream-pastries-sweet tooth varieties. Its self service eat as much as you want. Choose your items get a table after paying drink and buffet pricing- they have seniors discount. They have table seating with a person- not a waitress provides refills to your drinks and keep an eye on your tabla. Best time I found being in business is to go there after 1:30/ 7:30 to get choice of seating and no hassle waiting at their island to grab what you want? So that's way you are relaxed .. Cleaning of tables is done fast and have booths as well as family tables. Food is normally bland as they have to cater wide variety of guests. The food seemed OK - Until about an hour later then my kids, Wife and I were all VIOLENTLY sick. other Issue : This is a self service buffet with signs that state children under a certain age must be accompanied by adults at the buffet. I've always loved Golden Corral, so when I saw that there was one in Rochester, we had to go. I really wish we hadn't. First, there are no trays to put your drinks on or even counter space to set them down. I was trying to juggle the baby and two drinks and get out my card to pay and asked the cashier for a tray since there were none on the counter (as there are at every other Golden Corral). She just gave me a blank stare and stood there, saying $56 for three people. Ok, no problem, but I need a tray to set these drinks on so I can pay! She never responded except to give me my receipt. The salad bar was awful. There was brown lettuce in the bowl. The cauliflower was all covered with black dots. The onions smelled bad and were translucent, definitely not fresh, and the ranch tasted off. There were no taco shells, but all the fixings were there. There were no baked potatoes, a Golden Corral staple. The rolls, which are one of the reasons I love GC, were hard and chewy. The fried chicken looked and tasted as if it had been cooked the day before and reheated in old grease. The steamed broccoli had an odd taste, and the cheese sauce was jellied. The mashed potatoes, meatloaf and pot roast were decent, but they weren't the usual quality. The fried fish was good. There was no pizza or fried shrimp, both staples of GC. There was also no steak at the grill. The chicken in gravy was just plain gross. The tables are too short for the booth seats, so there's very little elbow room. Not that it really mattered since there was very little edible food. In short, if this had been my first experience with GC, I'd never go back. As it is, we wasted $60, just to leave and go to McDonald's to get something we all could eat! If they can't do better than this, they need to close their doors! read more

We walked in to pay and all of the soda machines, cups, etc are right at the entrance(of course no trays); I have never been to a GC where you grab you drinks before you pay and they do not have trays? The facility seemed on the dirty side ( this was 430pm on Sunday) , as I noticed a lot of empty tables that were not cleaned very well. The food? Ugh. No one turned over any of the good we took to eat. Everything was dry or not very warm. The only employee that was good was the cook, he had brisket today. It was good and he was polite. It seemed the rest of the staff just stood around talking to each other, or talking on their phones. No one stops by to refill drinks. 1 person stopped by and picked up plates. Since my last poor review of Golden corral I have been back many times...I will say it has improved. I think the first few times I went, it was a bad experience because it was still new and people wanted to see what it was all about. There was tons of overcrowding, and I think this place just couldn't keep up. But I am a fan of the all you can eat buffet. I like that I can pick n choose what I want to eat and not be bothered by fake waiters who only care about that tip. And let's be real..I like to stuff myself (on occasion). So I will give you some tips for this All you can eat buffet... 1. Dinner is always better than lunch. That goes with out saying for most all you can eat Buffet's. They don't put out any of the expensive meats at lunch. But there can be a downside to arriving at dinner...which leads me to tip 2. 2. Too many people. If you like a more quiet dining experience dinner might not be for you. There is always more people at dinner than lunch. Which means more of a chance to have kids running around and screaming babies. 3. To save a few bucks arrive 30min before dinner and pay lunch prices, but still getting all those expensive dinner time meats that they put out. Dieting you say? I found that when cutting my carbs this can be a fantastic place to go out to eat. Even at lunch time I found many things I can still have while staying good on my low carb diet. Which actually is what made me want to update my last review. The dirtiest most disgusting place! This was my second time going to this place. I thought breakfast might be different. Less people and how could they mess up breakfast food. I thought wrong. It was empty but there was a little bit of food and it was so nasty. All the food looked and tasted like leftovers. The French toast was hard and dry. There was a big flat hash browns and never added any fresh ones. No ice cream or slushies. And are work station supposed to be visible? The salad bar was nice full and the food looked good but why do I see dirty pots pans mixing bowls bags of potatoes on the floor? The worker at the dessert station was on her phone while she was making bread. No omelet station. The place itself was dirty. Dirty worn out carpet that was lifting in several places. Worn out table and chairs. Lights and blinds covered in dust. The clean plates are worn and not cleaned well. Food and dust that holds the "clean" plates. Servers using those "witches" brooms to sweep up. Brooms and water buckets left out on tables. Our server was friendly and polite she asked us several times if we needed drinks and took any plates that we were done with. All the other workers looked miserable and didn't interact at all. Not a good morning or hello. I will never go back but I do think the establishment needs and upgrade and a deep cleaning.
