Food is average at best, and that's me being generous. The pizza was dry and flavorless, with sauce and cheese applied in what I can only describe as a "rumor of toppings", like someone described pizza to the kitchen over a bad phone connection. But the real showstopper was the greeting. We walked in, scanned the walls for a menu, and found... nothing. No menu, no specials board, not so much as a laminated sheet. So we asked where the menu was, and the owner hit us with "Well, what do you want?" Sir, that's the question. That's literally what I came here to find out. I felt like I was supposed to already know the menu by heart, like there'd been required reading I skipped. Every follow-up question: sizes, types, specials, etc was met with the enthusiasm of a man being audited. Apparently the expectation is that you study the website beforehand and arrive fully enlightened, ready to recite your order. None of us were impressed and we won't return. Regrettably, this place is either a hit or a miss, so I'm no longer gonna gamble and will vote with my wallet. Most recently, we went on a weekday after lunch, and got a pizza and salad to go. The pizza toppings were like a soup, and by the time we got home, the cheese was in blobs. The salad was worse, as it wasn't fresh as denoted by the brown edges on most of the lettuce leaves. my husband and I had lunch there on Saturday and we each ordered a slice of pizza. He had a pepperoni which was burned on the bottom and I ordered a margarita which they brought out a slice of pizza that was overflowing with sauce and cheese. it was not a margarita pizza. When we looked up, we realized that the health score was 80. The people who were working there were unprofessional did not know what they were doing and the food was horrible. I ordered the Neapolitan pizza because they had a buy one get one offer. It was a terrible experience from the start as I ordered through DoorDash and everything seemed fine but then all of a sudden the DoorDash order was canceled and nobody could explain why. So I called the store and they told me that the DoorDash person canceled it and that they've had that happen several times that same day. So I hung up and I ended up going through Uber eats instead, and putting the order in again. The entire time it kept telling me that the pizza was going to arrive within 35 to 40 minutes, but the Uber eats driver had to wait at this place close to 40 minutes once he got there to pick it up because they didn't have it ready. When he asked why it wasn't ready, they told him that I canceled the order with DoorDash and re-put it in under Uber eats so I went to the back of the line. Terrible communication and not how it went down. I felt bad for the driver who had to wait around, so I gave him extra tip when he came, but considering all the money I spent for delivery and tips, it was probably the most bland pizza I've ever had. I don't often take the time to write reviews about places because imo the food should speak for itself. However, this place deserves it. I have never found a restaurant that feels like home but I have found that here. My now husband and I come here every Sunday to have lunch and talk about the week ahead. We are always greeted by the same guy and helped promptly. I have tried 80% of their menu and have not had anything I was unhappy with, not to say I don't have favorites tho. The quality of food and ingredients is so good. I love the big thin ny pizza slices. I also have a deep rooted obsession with Greek salads and theirs is UNMATCHED. The last time I came here I got an order of fries and they were out of ketchup and the guy that was here working walked next door to get us packets of ketchup (like omg?! You NEVER get that level of care and service ANYWHERE anymore). The ambiance in here is simple but homely, I don't ever feel overstimulated in here which is very uncommon. I know to everyone reading this it definitely comes across as just a simple pizza place but for me this place is more. I will always love this restaurant and I will always think very highly of it. The pizzas (3) that I received seems like it was previously frozen and then warmed up. i'm still questioning if there was even tomato sauce on it that's how thin it was. The crust was like cardboard, and the little bit of cheese was overcooked. I dont like writing reviews like this. to be fair order you a pizza from here and try it yourself and then go across the street to Brooklyn Joe's and do the same thing and then tell me hands-down who has the better pizza. read more

My first issue (but not the worst) was the extended wait time for our order. I ordered one pizza online. They said it would be ready at 6:06. I walked in the door at 6:08 and watched the guy just start to make my pizza... I finally got my order at 6:18. However, my main issue is the fact that we ordered the Hot Honey Pepperoni Pizza and it came with no base sauce. It was just cheese, pepperoni, and honey drizzled on top. As you can imagine it was extremely dry and chewy... so I called the shop to explain the issue and the manager (who was the guy who made the pizza) assured me that the particular pizza i ordered does not come with sauce. I told him the website shows the pizza with sauce and he tells me their store (Dawsonville) makes it different than other locations by leaving off the sauce... sound ridiculous to you? Yeah. I'm assuming he made a mistake because his girlfriend was in the shop talking to him while he was working, so he was obviously distracted. Distracted enough to delay my pizza and forget the sauce. We were ordering at halftime during a busy Super Bowl night, and although they were closing in fifteen minutes, the staff at Grandma's was happy to make our order and accommodate for us last minute. We eat here quite a bit. Got a large pizza with onions and green peppers. Very typical pizza that we get. I had a really good experience at Grandma's NY Pizza in Dawsonville Georgia. I did my order by phone and talked to Joe at the pizza parlor. He was very courteous and kind and did a great job with my order. When I arrived to get my order Joe was behind the counter and my order was ready to go. Once I paid my tab we chatted about the cannolis that I ordered and Joe said that his nickname was 'Joey Cannoli' because he is the one who makes them. I told him I would defiantly write a review about the food and cannolis I purchased So, without further ado, the pizza were very good and the cannolis were delicious! The pizza is fantastic. I called to order a pizza and they told me that they were out of dough. Hector told me that which is who answered the phone. I asked to speak to a supervisor, then hector yelled back to the manager Jonathan, "some jerk is on the phone and wants to talk to you." I then told Jonathan, "I am shocked that you would allow your employee to talk down to a paying customer." My family and my parents have eaten here for the last year. What I was called on the phone is an example of the most unprofessional behavior I have ever heard. Jonathan said he would handle it, now the owner knows if there is no discipline then Jonathan is also not the best manager. In my 41 year son earth I have never heard that in my life. Hector needs to learn professionalism or be on the street without a job. If it was my company, hector would be gone no questions asked. There is zero excuse for that! I also called at 8:30 pm on Sunday October 10th. The lazy team working there told me they were out of dough. I am a fan of the lawrenceville location and suwanee so when I found myself in Dawsonville and soon the familiar sign I was excited. I went in at 1130 , 30 minutes after opening so no rush could have happened and the floor hadn't been swept from I assume the day before but maybe the week . Had a slice and a drink 5 bucks can't be beat . The drink was spot on Coke Zero knows what they are doing and are consistent. The pizza was ehhh at best somehow crispy yet soggy and just not what the locations do , when I asked if they were affiliated the man looked confused but agreed . We tried this newly opened restaurant and we absolutely loved the food and the service. I am huge on salad so I ordered a Caprese and Mediterranean salad and they not only had a nice selection, but the ingredients were really fresh and crisp. We also had a calzone and it was not only hot and delicious when it came out, but it was a really nice size for your buck. The service was also amazing and friendly. I've been wanting to try this place for a while so tonight nobody could decide where to go I suggested we give it a try. Go in order a gluten free pizza with no cheese for one person who can't have dairy or cheese ($20). A medium pepperoni($17) and a chicken parm (supposed to be $16. However they ring it up a spaghetti $9.99 marinara $2.99 and chicken $6.99 for nearly $20. I pointed this out and was told that this is how they are supposed to ring it up and there is no button for this meal. She did offer a discount for the entire order that made up for the difference. Each item came out at a separate time so they need to work on their timing. The chicken Parma was a baked piece with sauce spooned over and then cheese melted over the top. Just asked for the manager if you have an issue and he will try his best to discuss it with you and make everything agreeable for both parties, their customer service is amazing!!! Overall one of the most average experiences I've ever had. I came here with my girlfriend and my little brother and we got a pizza and two calzones, pepperoni calzones. We ordered and sat down and took probably around 20 to 25 minutes for us to get our food, not a huge deal but a little long. My girlfriend's pizza had some good taste but it was extremely greasy. And for the calzones, no pepperoni which is the only reason I got them. So I was upset, a calzone from this place with no pepperoni is just boring. Not any real great taste literally just cheese and bread. The sauce tasted really good though. I would same if they actually had my pepperoni in the calzone I might consider giving them a four out of five but with the long wait time the greasy pizza and forgetting the pepperoni my calzone I have to give it a three star given my rating history. We have ordered twice from this place previously and absolutely loved it! With that being said, or third experience was a huge let down. We normally order 2 pizzas (1 regular and 1 gluten free) and wings. Wings normally have been crispy and delicious, but tonight they were soggy and not great. My husband also ordered a Buffalo chicken pizza that was supposed to have a Buffalo sauce drizzle, and instead he got... a ladle of chunky tomato sauce?? I got the gluten-free bbq chicken and when we both took a bite of our different pizzas we both agreed it was NOT good. We were so sad because we have had great experiences previously, and when you're spending $65 on pizza you want your order to be good. It's a clean, new compact restaurant and our Margherita pizza came out piping fresh and hot! This area is commercially booming and we need more restaurants, so I'm sure it will do well! It's right across from MOD pizza, so there's some competition. I like that they offer seven different kinds of salads as well as calzones. Plus, there's an array of desserts we didn't get to sample.
