First time there today. I ordered what is listed as the Belgian Waffle. What i was served is a very soft sponge like Pancake-Waffle. An authentic Belgian Waffle has a crispy outer shell ,and fluffy on the inside. I picked my brother up from the airport today and had to take him to Minooka and decided on Grandmas for breakfast. Nothing pops out or super fancy about the restaurant. The people working were extremely friendly and greeted us promptly with smiles and hello. I ordered the meat lovers skillet and i enjoyed it very much. Had to add the Cholula sauce of course. Came with a side and I got biscuits and gravy. They were kinda plain for my liking. My brother got Grandma's Special which was eggs, pancakes, and he chose bacon. He didn't say much about his meal I got 2 kids menu pancakes and Grandmas special to go for my sons and girlfriend. They put banana slices on the pancakes to make the Mickey Mouse face, and all the slices were brown. Both kids didn't like their pancakes and only had 2-3 bites. Really wanted to rate this place 5* as it's on UberEats, which had a great service by the way. Gravy for the biscuits and gravy was a little bland, it just needed some salt+pepper, oh and the biscuits were very good. But the Corned Beef Hash was the reason for 4 stars. I've unfortunately had the pleasure of eating fancy feast before, and this was on par with that. The hash was mushed to a pulp and tasted bitter/chalky. ( customers last!!) . And I'm sure the bubble but one that works there is having an affair with cook cuz that's all she cared about not us . The oldest waitress there is the best !! We ( 8 of us ) went there on New Years Day around 1:30pm for a really late breakfast, I was surprised they were open. There was only one other group in there at the time. They closed at 3pm. We had a variety of foods, I had a Ham and Cheese Omelet which was very good compared some of the other places in town. We also ordered large stack of Pancakes with Strawberries, Mexican Skillet, a Burger, Beef Sandwich and some other kids meals. All were good and we had no complaints. Our waitress was very personable considering there was noone in there and they probably were looking to get out of there. A bit skeptical going back but kept hearing how amazing their country fried steak was. Its listed as a special so its not on the menu. Turned out that it was the tastiest country fried steak I've had, the breading was delicate as it came right off the steak when I cut it and it and each bite just melt in my mouth. This place is very nice if you're looking for a family diner. It's a little further down Mondamin before it turns in to Minooka Road. You'll see families here, older couples, truck drivers, everyone. It's relatively slow when I come in, but I have seen busier days when passing by. Their food is very good. Sometimes the salt is a little strong in soups, but I like salt. Great place to go for breakfast or lunch! My dad takes me or one of my siblings individually occasionally and it is a great experience! Their skillets are excellent and they are my favorite! They have a well rounded menu of breakfast foods, brunch, sandwiches, burgers and lunch. There is nothing out of a can or any of that, but it is nearly all fresh cooked in restaurant. Grandma's is a nice little place to stop for breakfast in this small town. It is pretty much the only choice as well, besides Ruby's across the street (which I also left a review for) They have fresh squeezed Orange Juice, which my Son, and Husband really enjoy from anywhere. There has never been a long wait, or a problem with our food. The food is good, nothing to rave about, just typical family restaurant style menu. I would recommend going here if your trying to find a good breakfast and are in the area. I probably would not go out of my way to come here, but all in all not bad. read more

Yuck! Go across the street to Ruby Burritos and get a better breakfast! There has been hair in our food on multiple occasions. When asked if they could make sure the hash browns are done and crispy the waitress said that "you get what you get" and they cook all the hash browns the same. I have never been told that before. Located in little shopping center with mostly empty stores is a great little mom and pop find. We asked the locals and this is the place that kept coming up. We were fretted as soon as we walked up and only had to wait a couple minutes. The food was really good, we were there for breakfast. Everything was fresh and well prepared. Our server was great. This restaurant has very bad service and a very rude waitress! The waitress was carrying a baby around the restaurant. We have eaten here dozens of times and we've never had an issue - but now I think it's because the place is usually empty when we are there. Started coming here over Rubys just because it doesn't look like it's falling apart inside and the last time I went to Rubys I made the mistake of going to their bathrooms.... So now we go to grandmas pricing is pretty average some items a little higher than others. We have special requests every time we're there (food allergies, extra crispy this or dry that ect,) and they have accommodated with out any issue. Only reason I downloaded this app is to talk about Grandmas extremely bad service. I ordered otp at 11:21am and they said it would be done in 15-20 min great. My mother ends up going to pick it up. She gets there and they say they don't have any order under my name....well how is that. My mom calls me telling me that they don't have the order and she can only speak fluent Spanish and barley any English for that matter so I ask her to pass her phone to a lady. And in this case everyone who works upfront act and talks like a child. Before I even asked to speak with her I can hear them telling my mom "we don't have that order" "idk" "but we can put in a new order again if you want that" . I'm speechless bc these bitches don't realize that they fucked up. So what next in line to do APOLOGIZE. Like seriously who trained these children. Can't even say sorry for the inconvenience, we apologize if you did happen to order something and we don't have it. It's not hard to give a shit. A lady or "child" is finally free to grab the phone and I asked her hi, we ordered 4 skillets and a sandwich , you don't have it? Then she reply's "oh no yeah we have it here ready..... then I asked her then why were they acting as if I never called and ordered? Why can't u apologize for mixing things up? And she kept stuttering and couldn't even speak clearly and all she kept saying but we have it but we were looking for but but but this is a reason why I'm calling them children.
