I read the reviews for this place and I don't know what everyone is talking about. My wife and I had the best experience here. The shopkeepers are warm and welcoming. Just a warning, they might be low key witches. They claim that their sorbet's are dairy free, but I swear they are so creamy that they could be mistaken for ice cream. A delightful treat for those of us who can't have dairy. Overall, highly recommended. If you're in Jasper AB, stop by Grandmas, you won't be disappointed.

Food: 1/5 we didn't even get to try. Please review service section. Service: 1/5 What a deceptive store name. When you think of "grandmas" you think of kind, warm, welcoming, and friendly. This was not the case. The old Korean owner was very rude. They do not allow pictures inside of the store which I understand is their policy. However, I stepped out of their store and took a picture and the old Korean owner came out and argued with me and asked me to see my phone. Terrible service. I would not recommend this place and I hope they don't operate any longer. Jasper, a beautiful town does not need this kind of horrible service to ruin their tourist experience. Ambiance: 1/5 service review. Don't waste your time coming here

The homemade flavors were $1 extra, but amazing! We really enjoyed the Apple Crumble and Obi Wan coffee flavor. Plus, they love dogs here. They brought out a special doggie cone when they heard one of our party was waiting outside with our dog!

Such a cute family owned and operated place. The family members all have pins on their hats designating their relation to the titular Grandma. The only downside is that they don't give samples of their flavors but seeing the they have over 60 flavors, I understand that it would be too time-consuming to give several samples to each customer. We got the coffee crisp and the rolo flavors which were both great. The serving sizes are super generous as well.

Ice cream was so good. Huge portions! I couldn't finish them! The couple was so sweet and joked around with us. Would definitely go back next time we are here.

Birthday cake flavor and maple pecan ice cream.

Ordered ice cream and service was terrible. Young Asian guy was a jerk. Snarky and rude.

Jasper's Wafflato 618 Connaught Drive July 6,2026…read more While visiting Jasper for two days in early July 2026, I made a point to explore meal options, and for one breakfast I visited Jasper's Wafflato for breakfast. I was greeted with no waiting, and Srushti brought me water and a menu. The restaurant was nicely arranged, sound levels allowed easy conversations, and the service was excellent. I ordered the Classic Belgian Waffle (a freshly pressed Belgian waffle drizzled with maple syrup and icing sugar, $12 CAD), along with two poached eggs ($4 CAD) and a peanut butter banana smoothie ($10 CAD). Within 15 minutes Srushti served me the meal, and I was left to look out into the beautiful July skies in Jasper.

What caught my eyes on the menu were the star symbol, Fried Chicken Savory Waffles - homemade buttermilk fried chicken, hot honey glaze. I anticipated fried chicken thigh. Nope! Lo and behold, spicy breaded boneless chicken with a light drizzle of heat hot honey. Wowzer! My palate was on overdrive that morning. Balanced this hot and sweet meal with Canada's finest maple syrup. Light, crispy, crunchy, savory, spicy, sweet, tangy. They've mastered the art of waffles down to a science where it rises back up and maintains its original shape when pierced with a fork. Ambiance is well lit and relaxing. Staff provided fabulous customer service bright and early.

Excellent service and food…read more Tried to stop by here for din and they were completely booked out! Fortunately, we were able to make a resy here for the next day. I am glad we came back. The service and food here is excellent. We started off with the prawn and broccolini flatbread, which is basically a pizza. Thin and crispy, just how I liked it. For the mains, we went for the salmon mango salad and the chicken milanase. The salmon portion was very generous and juicy, with perfectly crisped skin. The chicken milanase was very similar to a chicken parm I had the day before at an actual Italian restaurant. It was way better here, ironically. Our server was super friendly and attentive. Def check this place out!

We went here for lunch this summer. First of all, it is in a…read moregreat location. They are located upstairs on the main drag of Jasper (they have an elevator on the outside to get you up there if you have mobility issues). The patio is fantastic, and if you have small kids they will probably be excited that they can see the VIA rail trains go in and out. Service was excellent. We had the sweetest server ever, even when my kiddo with special needs decided to swipe the table and break some glass. (We offered to pay for it, she declined so we gave her a big tip). Menu is good - a variety of food and hats off to the Indigenous items they included. Since it was lunch time, we just decided on a main meal and no appetizers (we were hiking after this), but I really would like to come back here for the appies. We decided on the Wild Game Burger -Alberta Elk & Bison patty with caramelized onions, forest mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, pickles with old fashioned mayo-mustard sauce, served with Canadian kennebec home-cut fries while kiddo decided on the kids mac and cheese. Food came out in a timely manner. We really enjoyed how juicy our wild game burger was and I really loved the mushrooms and onions on it. Our daughter gobbled up her meal. I would definitely recommend this. Prices are high, but so is everything else in Jasper. If you want cheaper do a chain restaurant. If you want a great and authentic experience try this out.

The people: a mother and her son, tired from the day's (short) hike in the snow. The atmosphere at the street: hushed voices, some bit of hustle and bustle as strangers rush to fill some void. Hunger. There were more steps from the sidewalk up to the restaurant, a seeming offense to legs tired from pushing against the snow earlier in the day. The local game and seafood, both in varying forms, were the tempters. We got our table, and we sat down. Drinks first - CRFT Blonde Ale was a winner - and a lovely herbed bread and butter started us off. Menu choice this night focused on the game dishes. Some calamari to start too, though our hunger made a short life of that starter at our table. And then we got our mains. Well-prepared, unpretentious, flavorful, and - for us - just the right proportions. My bison medallions - ordered rare - were prepared just perfectly, with (as I told my son) the only instance of spaghetti squash that I think I have ever liked (alongside other well-prepared veggies as well). His mixed game burger didn't stand a chance. He even ate the mushrooms, a sure HT. Our experience here was so wonderful, centered, warm - It helped that our server was equally so, and you can see how much she connects with the customers as one would with guests in a home. We liked our meal so much we came back again the next night for more. And the second night did not lose any luster off the first. Next time we are in the area, we are probably going to go nowhere but here. While our travels took us far, we felt right at home here.
