Came here on Sunday for brunch and was honestly not very impressed. We called as we were a few minutes away and we're told there were a few tables available. When we showed up, there was absolutely nothing available and we were told it would take 15-30 minutes. It ended up being 35 minutes then we waited another 45 minutes for our meals which had varying proportions so some of us left still very hungry. The wait was way too long and there was no communication about when our food would be arriving. I think overall the meals were okay but I definitely wouldn't recommend coming on a Sunday for brunch if you're looking to get in and out by a reasonable time. read more

Derrick reached out and expressed how the service we received the first time shouldn't have happened. Upon visiting a second time, I am happy to say we will definitely be coming back to Grandview Cafe and can write our first experience up to just a bad night. We came back and Olivia took GREAT care of us, she was very attentive, nice, and made sure we had everything we needed but also gave us the space to enjoy our meals. There was a manager there (I think) that was going around checking on tables throughout the restaurant making sure everything was good and people had what they needed. I had the turkey club (BOMB) and my gf had the burger. We shared fries and the Mac and cheese. I love their fries, the shoestring type fries are fantastic! We both really enjoyed our meals and the place was POPPIN on a Thursday night which made for a fun atmosphere. Thank you again to Derrick for showing concern in our first visit. We were hungry and needed to kill some time so we stopped into Grandview Cafe. The only place to sit was at the bar which was fine because it was just the 2 of us. The bartender greeted us quickly and took our order and that was the last time she spoke to us. A food runner brought or food and someone else gave us our check. I guess once she figured we weren't big drinkers that her time was better spent elsewhere. That being siad we went for the fish and chips and that didnt disappoint. I judge fish and chips on the crunch and the tartar sauce, the fries are just an afterthought for me. Lucky for me the fish was crispy with just the right amount of salt and the tartar sauce had the right combination of creamimess and tang. We also lucked out that it was Friday when fish and chips is the special for $10. Their beer list and house cocktails is impressive and would be with a second visit. read more

Took about 25 minutes for a server to come around. It ended up being the bartender, who really shouldn't have any tables considering he was the only bartender. Several servers were standing around while the bartender was running himself ragged. A bartender shouldn't be assigned his own tables on top of tending the entire bar. The food was slow to come out and there were items missing from our order. Food was below average. Potatoes were dry, eggs were unseasoned, chicken was super dry, cinnamon rolls had the strangest tasting icing, like just plain cream cheese. The honey gravy with the chicken and biscuits was gross. The French toast bread has nuts (FYI), and it was an odd bread choice for French toast. Great chill spot for summer evenings on the patio or Sunday brunch with friends. The Ketel 1 Bloody Marys for Sunday brunch are my favorite mistake. That's my go-to with Doughnut French Toast. Hubby usually gets the BLT Benedict and vodka and soda. The service was amazing. Olivia was friendly and prompt, yet gave us space to talk without frequent interruptions. I'm so glad that Grandview Cafe is still operating during COVID. I was looking to have a small gathering for my boyfriend's birthday and Grandview Cafe hit it out of the park. I was able to email Allison Szedlock before the gathering. She reserved a table for me and was quick to respond to all of my questions. The event went off without a hitch. The service was great and I was surprised by just how great the food was. This is going to be my go-to spot for all sporting events in the future. I came to Grandview Cafe on a Sunday afternoon for brunch and was excited to experience it for myself after hearing mixed reviews. Unfortunately this is one of those places where I walked away saying, "almost, but not quite." I was impressed by the atmosphere the moment I walked in the door. This place is huge, and has such great indoor/outdoor space! I could definitely see myself coming here to sit on the patio and watch a sports game. The menu looks great, but I have to say that I was disappointed in the execution of my meal. To drink, I ordered a red sangria. I felt that the price was great for the size! However, ordering sangria is always risky for me as some sangrias tend to be overly sweet and juice-based (not my preference), and this was one of those sangrias. I don't think I could have had more than one glass if I tried just due to how sweet it was! To eat, I ordered the avocado toast. One thing I loved about it is that it had a generous amount of fresh veggies (like cucumbers and tomatoes). On the other hand, the avocado itself was a little sparse - it was basically a super thin spread of avocado topped with mounds of lettuce and veggies. Additionally, I asked my waitress if they had any cheese options other than goat cheese as I'm not the biggest goat cheese fan. She hesitated and said they could put a slice of American cheese on top, but that's pretty much it (???). After she walked away my friend and I laughed about the situation. If the only two types of cheese they have in the entire restaurant are American cheese and goat cheese, they may have a problem! In the end, I think my recommendation for or against Grandview Cafe would come down to what you're looking for. If you're in the market for great bottomless mimosas or a comfy, slightly more upscale place to watch a sports game, I highly recommend Grandview Cafe. If you're looking for fantastic knock-your-socks-off food or drinks, there may be other places nearby that would be a better choice. read more

We eat here frequently and enjoy the outside patio. On a recent Saturday, the food was beyond terrible. The avocado toast was either stale, or someone had attempted to toast it in a microwave. I have NEVER had a good experience at Grandview Cafe. It's actually sad because it's supposed to be a Columbus staple, but all it is is overpriced with the worst the service I've personally ever had. We asked 3 different employees including a manager to turn the AC up upstairs and they did nothing. The thermostat was set to 80 and they claimed that "the air was already on." We received no utensils, plates napkins or water without getting up to get it ourselves. When we sat down we waited for a server for at least 20 minutes before we had to flag someone down to ask to be served. 30 minute intervals between every time the server checked up on us. Waitress didn't know what was on tap when it came to seasonal drinks. Tried to explain a cider to me, but couldn't tell Me the name of the cider (told me It's a seasonal multiple times and it was really good). Checked on us 1 time while eating and was real quick. Food was so so. My wife wanted a plain cheeseburger and got everything on it. Burger was $17 and was nothing special. The special of the night was 10 fish and chips.
