It seemed way overpriced compared to what you get at Wine Bistro or similar places. The menu stated that it came with mustard, spreads, and jam but all I got was jam? It was disappointing but I was with a big group and hard to get someone's attention to ask about it. The fried chicken plate looked good so that might have been the better choice. I went in on a Thursday afternoon for lunch. The bar was not crowded, perhaps, six patrons. I asked the bartender for a menu and told her I would be joining her for lunch. For the next 15 minutes, I waited to be acknowledged and watched as she walked by me 10 to 15 times. I was completely ignored. I've been here several times before now, but I wanted to give it a fair chance in case they were having an off day when I've been previously. True to what's been my typical experience, our food took forever and when it finally did arrive, it was lukewarm. The music was really loud, and our table by the window was really cold. The food was kind of hit or miss. The Mac and cheese, besides being cold, was pretty good. I prefer salty Mac and cheese and this one is definitely on the sweeter side. I did enjoy it still, and it's a big enough portion for leftovers. We did, however, really like the fried chicken and the coleslaw. The pizza was tasty too. Overall, good food...just slow and cold. I honestly wouldn't really recommend this place to others because I feel like it's pretty average, especially compared to other restaurants around it. read more

I love coming here for brunch, it's a very fun environment, great deals, and great food. I recommend this place to anyone trying to have a few drinks or enjoy a weekend game. They have plenty of TV's and usually a crowd that has come to watch support local teams or rivals. They have great deals on your typical morning/afternoon cocktails. I specifically tried the Breakfast Chicken Biscuit and it was great, very filling, and flavorful. The breakfast potatoes were also great, nice and crispy (who doesn't like crispy potatoes?). Another thing that made this a great experience was the service. Each time I've gone, my server seemed excited and happy to be there. She was fun and silly with the table while also providing great service. Never overbearing but always available if we needed anything. First time coming here for brunch. Came about 3 hours before an OSU football game and got the last table upstairs. The OSU game was at 330 and they did tell us we had to be out by 215, which seemed like plenty of time but we ended up being there until 215. I think they have minimal selection on their menu but they were able to make a cheese omelette instead of the daily special. I feel like there were maybe 15 entree choices at the most but they were all unique. We all ordered something different and liked our choices. I didn't think there was enough cheese in my omelette and wasn't blown away by it. The skillet potatoes were a little too salty with some bites but otherwise tasty! Great happy hour, and it's very chill during the week. Went twice this past week, once for just drinks, and another to eat. We started w the mussels and fries, got a great portion and was able to share. It was delicious. I ordered the club because it was warm and clubs are the best for a spring day. Really bummed at though biting into my second half to only find lettuce bc ever other topping was on the first half of my sandwich. No bacon, or tomato. Super small and petty, but I really shouldn't have to open my sandwich and reconstruct it to know what's going on each half. Was bummed, but have always enjoyed GVC. read more

Gotta say I was super disappointed here. I'm from the service industry and know decent customer care but this wasn't even that. My family was sat upstairs and got half our waters when sitting down then the other half 15 minutes later. We then ordered drinks (for brunch) and those took an additional 20 to get to us- then finally got our orders taken. No subs, nothing crazy. One order of eggs we saw the waitress walk through the restaurant carrying as if she was looking for a table to serve it to. 10 minutes later she brings it to my father asking if he wanted it. It was what he ordered, but like I said it had been Marched though the restaurant for 10 minutes and offered to another table before us who denied it. My dad, being too polite to say no, took the plate. The eggs were cold, he couldn't even finish it. She never asked if it was OK or something was wrong with it, just left it with him. 15 minutes later the rest of our food comes out, and it was OK. Nothing to write home about. Then when we were splitting the checks she had to come back to our table 4 times to make sure she got it all right. I love that she wanted to make it right the first time, but something was just not clicking. She also TOTALLY over shared back of the house problems. Told us the Irish coffee was the last in the restaurant because they ran out of coffee (at 10 am brunch service). Told us the whole story about her walking around with the unwanted eggs. It's like we were having a bad enough time and she kept piling her problems on top of it which isn't great when we were getting such bad service to begin with. This is my first ever review and I literally would never write something if it hadn't have been so awful. I will probably try it again. But I hope she gets explained that there are opportunities to better herself her get her support if she needs it. read more

Unfortunately, I'm sharing my first negative review today. I was soo looking forward to my first visit at Grandview Cafe as I was in the area exploring with friends having a great afternoon. That great afternoon quickly turned into a not so favorable one simply due to the poor service at the cafe. The place did seem a bit busy when we first arrived, but we were seated immediately and by the time we had left the whole place was fairly empty. I had ordered my food along with my party, and after a 45 minute wait 3 out of 5 orders arrived at the table. after 15 minutes with our server not checking in, we tracked him down and asked for an update on the food that had not arrived yet, where our server stated to "not have any idea what happens in the kitchen" (first bad attitude experience) - after checking in he came back to apologize and hadn't placed my food order in at all. At this point I was so hungry, and very frustrated, I no longer wanted any food. I was thankful for the apology, however the food was offered at a 50% discount if I still wanted it. This "discount" may seem fair - but totally unacceptable to me as it had been an hour at this point that I was waiting. The attitude and negative service experience continued to worsen, with my friends now involved and upset for me. They were shot down and had snappy remarks made towards them, which is totally unacceptable in my experience (I've been a server before for many years) - we were being totally understanding and just voicing our frustration, absolutely not deserving of a rude attitude. Yum! Come here with an empty belly. The fried pickles are AMAZING! I highly recommend them. I also recommend the cheese and meat platter. the jam is blackberry jalapeno flavored and it is SO good. They also have a peppered pistachio salami this is really good on there as well. Service was quick and friendly, both at the bar and our table. I ordered the chef special pizza which had meatballs, chorizo, and pepperoni. the crust was perfect, pepperoni crispy on the edges and you could really taste the chorizo which I love. Def make sure to ask your waitress what the chef special pizza of the day is. read more

If I was in my early 20s, I would probably like this place. However, I'm not so let's get on with the review! I came here with friends on 8/28 to eat after candle making. Outside was packed and it was hot out so we opted to sit inside. I will say, for starters, I did not want to come here. No offense to GC, but the food is overpriced bar food, but that's common in Grandview. Anyway, I was out numbered and my friend said they had good Mac n cheese so I was like ok, whatever. Turns out they only serve brunch until 3pm and it was like 1230 so I was upset I couldn't get the one thing I wanted. I decided to just order mimosas and a side of potatoes with cheese. Well, things got crazy from here. Our server let us know they were having staffing issues. No worries, everywhere is and I wasn't hungry and I was getting my mimosas timely and they were good. Well then the food came out like 30 min later, but my friend got the wrong side, another friend had bacon on her Caesar salad (not listed on menu and she's vegetarian) and me and another gal didn't get food. I figured the food runner just couldn't grab it all at once. We waited.. and waited... and finally one of my girls asks our server what's going on and he got an attitude with her. I get bad days happen and maybe he just snapped and has enough of peoples crap that day (bc unfortunately, as a past server, a lot of guests treat their servers like crap and yell about things out of their control and you just get tired of it). However, he wasn't very apologetic or quick to act on anything or go thru the motions. He was like f that lol. He brought me my potatoes after they'd been sitting in the window for 30 minutes when everyone was finished eating and they were too hard to eat. I told him to comp it and he played it like he had to get manager permission. He did comp it though. My other friend never got her food and the server admitted he didn't ring it in. The only bright side was that I was absolutely living for everyone having a meltdown over this because I told them I didn't want to go to GC in the first place so the drama gets an extra star for me! Stopped in here for dinner and decided to sit outside so we didn't have to wait for indoor seating. Our server was super nice and the food and cocktails were very good. The prices are a bit on the high side for the venue, but not too bad. Outside the TV's were a bit too loud as well, and it was hard to talk to the person in front of me, but it may not always be like that. I think I would head back here again for a drink and something to eat in the summer time. read more

I went here for brunch yesterday with a friend and was slightly underwhelmed, the BLT egg Benedict was under seasoned and lacked flavor. I was very excited about the fried green tomatoes but in the end they didn't taste like much and the poached egg was slightly over cooked. In addition, a few of the potatoes were extremley over cooked - pretty much black... On the other hand, my Bloody Mary was delicious and our server was friendly and attentive! The prices weren't terrible and I will definitely give them another try at some point. read more

Grandview Cafe and Round 2 had a new years eve party, what a giant waste of money!!! 183.00 for 2 people and you got 1 drink ticket and lousy appetizers and an even worse dinner selection. I would have thought for that price you would get a nice dinner but I was sadly mistaken! It was a bunch of bar appetizers for dinner. Our server (I wish we got her name) was so helpful and accommodating with our two children, which always makes for a pleasant experience when dining as a family. To start, the atmosphere for night life here is great. The downside is that they seemed understaffed and even after bartenders took our orders, they were very slow to fill them. For brunch I received a similar negative service experience - slow. It took forever to get our waters, for someone to take our orders, and to receive our food. We even tried to grab the attention of bartenders to refill our drinks and seemed to be ignored. As for the food, I had the BLT Benedict and I found that it was very bland. The hot hollandaise wasn't hot at all and I don't think anything on the plate had been seasoned. Overall I think I don't think that the food service is worth the price, but I would be willing to give it another shot. read more

Overall this place was very disappointing. My friends and I decided to go there for brunch and we not pleased with the service or our food. After we were seated it took them 20 minutes just to bring us over some water and mind you it was not at all busy. So that's strike one. Strike two. We ordered the cinnamon roll as a little appetizer and it was gross! Who knew you could mess up a cinnamon roll. We each took no more than one bite and ended up sending it back. Strike three. We got finally got our food after a long wait and it was not the greatest but could have been worse. My friends and I needed condiments so that we could eat our food and our server did not come back for over 20 minutes. I've been trying to visit Grandview Cafe for a while now and finally went in for brunch. It was one of the best brunch experiences I've had in a while, I loved it! The atmosphere was great, the food was amazing, and our server was super attentive and took her time telling us what was her favorite on the menu. I got the BLT Benedict (without bacon, dietary restriction) and they were super cool about it. The fried green tomato had a special crunchy taste that was very unique and yummy, probably my favorite part. The potatoes on the side were more on the crunchy side, but were very well seasoned, just needed some ketchup or sauce. It was a little more pricey than I expected it to be, but well worth the overall experience. The brunch menu is Saturday from 11-3 and Sunday from 10-3, so if you have time definitely check it out! read more

Extremely disappointing. This used to be my favorite brunch place years ago when I lived in Columbus, and now it seems they've cut corners in all the wrong places. I went here for what was once my favorite breakfast burrito and it was beyond terrible. Not only do they no longer use queso, but they did not add any cheese or seasoning to the burrito at all (it was supposed to come with cheese and we received none on either burrito). Worst of all though--they don't use real eggs. They were fake powder eggs of some sort, and tasted worse than anything I've had at a hotel breakfast buffet. How you can claim to serve breakfast and use fake/powder eggs is beyond me. You shouldn't even serve breakfast if you don't have a cook that knows how to crack and cook real eggs or season food. I don't know what happened to this place, but It was a joke that they tried to pass it off as legitimate--I've made better tasting powder eggs in the middle of the woods on a hiking trip. Never in my life have I been to a breakfast place (outside of a hotel) that doesn't use real eggs (or cheese or seasoning for that matter). There's really no excuse for having worse quality food ingredients than a cheap hotel or gas station and charging 12 dollars for it. This is the only negative review I've ever given--it deserves less than 1 star, but I'm giving it three solely because I don't want to hurt someone's business. read more

The great burger and the fast, attentive upstairs server kept this from being a 1-star. We came in for trivia night and the wait was annoying. We were told we couldn't go up until 7 PM, but then we got up there and there were people already up there. So I guess only some people had to wait... for no apparent reason.
