We grabbed a table on a Saturday night we were immediately impressed by the amazing smells upon entering . I spent my summers in Italy growing up and this place took me back . Our wonderful waitress and over and left some bread and oil while we looked at the menu. We agreed upon the califlower as an app . Hubby had the eggplant parm and I did the pasta with shrimp and broccoli . We also got a side of broccoli rabe, the meals also came with a nice side salad . The portions are a realistic smaller size and delicious. Unbelievably so! Fresh and great quality olive oil is used you can taste the difference. We were going to splurge and get dessert but they only had chocolate cake or ice cream so we declined . It is a byob. We honestly already said we will be going again next week! We came to Iachetti's Kitchen for a last-minute Father's Day dinner and were completely blown away. This cozy little Italian spot turned out to be one of the best meals we've had in a long time. The service was lovely--our waiter was kind, attentive, and made the whole experience feel easy and welcoming. And the food? Absolutely phenomenal. We started with the fried artichoke hearts (a must!), burrata, calamari, mozzarella sticks, and the zucchini and eggplant chips--LORDY, those were insanely good. Every appetizer was better than the last. The main dishes were just as impressive. The chicken parm was crispy and flavorful, the gnocchi was melt-in-your-mouth perfect, and the sole francese was delicate and delicious. We were passing plates around the table because no one could decide which dish was their favorite! It's BYOB, which made it feel even more relaxed and special. Small place and very nicely decorated. The owner came out and greeted each table when he had a free moment. The service was ok-we had to ask for water refills more than once. Coffee was very strong but I liked it. Food- we were there for Mother's Day brunch. the zeppoles were complimentary and very dense, not much flavor to them. I didn't care for eggplant and zucchini chips, they were bland and the dipping sauce was not good, it tasted like Italian dressing. The breakfast skillets were small and were lacking in the amount of chicken. The Nutella French toast was out of this world ! And the brunch salad with quinoa looked amazing. We all shared the 12 inch margarita pie, the crust was not thin enough for my liking and the flavor was bland. We will give this place a try again in the future but will go for the main menu and skip the brunch menu. The omelette's were tasty and the ricotta pancakes were good too. If you decide to try brunch I would steer away from the skillet dishes. We had three at our table. The chicken parm Vodka , the chicken puttanesca and the sausage skillets and none of us cared much for them. Of all Three skillets the sausage skillet was the best. What a great place for lunch, dinner or Sunday brunch. Iachetti's is located in a strip mall on the Fair Lawn/ Glen Rock border. It is bright, clean and has a classy look about it. Three of us share a fresh salad with grilled chicken, farro and ricotta salata as well as zucchini/eggplant chips that melt in your mouth and a side of broccoli rabe. The server brought foccia with a crushed garlic oil and 3 bites of a breaded and fried potato/cheese ball. SO GOOD! It was a delicious lunch bite for three. Can't wait to try more options but will surely repeat the zucchini/eggplant chips. They should call them meltaways! read more

After a day of climbing at the Gunks, we discovered an unassuming gem on the way to the city that deserves all the praise. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm and welcoming. By the end of the meal, it felt like we'd known the owner, John, for years--his genuine hospitality set the perfect tone for our experience. The food was outstanding. The Caesar salad was a standout: crisp, fresh lettuce and a dressing that hit all the right notes. The wood oven Margherita pizza had a nice balance of fresh tomatoes, basil, and mozzarella that was simply delicious. John even shared a clever food hack: keep hot pepper in the freezer to maintain its spiciness. It's a tip I'll be using at home for sure! Iachetti's continues to amaze me! Got takeout from here tonight and we decided to go with the family meal. We got the chicken parmigiana and penne vodka and it came with so many sides, salad and dessert with it. All the food was delicious! You absolutely get your moneys worth and then some. The service is also incredible. It was a lot of food and the employee who checked me out also helped me bring my food to the car which I appreciated so much as I knew it would be a lot to navigate on my own. Stopped by for dinner. Everything we ordered was fantastic and the service was great. We started with the eggplant and zucchini chips. A nice little snack that would go well with your beverage of choice. We then had the vodka meatball pizza and chicken parm. The pizza is thin crust and easy to eat a whole pie if youre hungry and like good pizza. The chicken cutlets were perfectly cooked and well portioned. The service was impeccable but the the food was meh at best. I am really surprised because the reviews have been mostly great... everything was really dry. The artichoke appetizer had little taste and needed something... the sausage was weird and tasted like a cross between a meatball and dry sausage. On the positive the ambiance and service was really nice... too bad, with so many great restaurants at this price point I don't believe that I will be back... Makes me sad to post a not great review.. to update this post.. the owner contacted me and offered to comp all the dinners and to please come back in and try it again. We will try it again... We were excited the place looked crowded. We sat at our table with our friends. At first the owner came out to greet all the tables. He was very nice. I was impressed. Then the waiter read off the specials. We ordered our food BUT 15 minutes later the waiter came back out to tell us 4 specials were not available. Problem. Not everyone heard him. He obviously didn't now count how many orders he had or how many of us ordered the no longer available specials. 3 friends had ordered the specials but only 2 head the waiter and didn't know. Everyone got the food but one was missing. The waiter was ridiculous not realizing he didn't have all 7 orders. He didn't even come back to the table for 8 minutes. We had to ask a different waiter to get ours. The owner never came out to see what happened. Really the owner never showed his face again. I'm not a complainer but this was just WRONG. read more

I tried this place for dinner last night and it was great! The owner is so nice and friendly, he answered all of our questions about the menu. We couldn't decide what to get, everything looked so good. So we got a few appetizers to split. First, they brought potatoes fritters on the house, they were very tasty! Amazing restaurant with quality ingredients wonderful owner and staff! I grew up in Glen rock but spent most of the last 24 years in NYC thus spoiled for choice with restaurants. We just moved back to Glen Rock three months ago and couldn't be happier to stumble upon this gem. The food was delicious. The staff was well informed, quick, courteous and friendly and the owner was an absolute delight. My family and I were so impressed. It's hard to get gnocchi just right! But ours was perfectly pillowy and creamy! The dessert was beautiful and they even included complimentary cannoli! The shell was perfectly flakey and crisp with the sweet cream filling, we loved it! My discerning five year old daughter is super picky but was thrilled with every course which says a lot as she does not like the norms like pizza and Mac and cheese. Her veggies need to be crisp but cooked and pasta Al dente so this was perfect! This is a much needed establishment in the area. Ridgewood has many lovely restaurants but the food is sub par so it's amazing to have a local establishment with quality ingredients and incredible service! Iachetti's was excellent. Warm focaccia with garlic & oil to dip followed by some potato fritters with dipping sauce to start. We started with the rice balls, with marinara, which were delicious. The caesar salad was just the right size to share. The Mrs loved her Chicken Marsala with side of penne in marsala sauce and I loved the gnocchi with a four meat bolognese. We had so much food, we each packed up half our meal as well as the side salad that came with mine. Since it was our anniversary, we left room for her tiramisu and my cheesecake with raspberry sauce. Both delish. Our server, who handled the entire room by himself, was excellent and attentive. We'd not been back to Iachetti's since the pandemic. We'd forgotten what we missed. John greeted us warmly at the door, followed by his son-in-law, Tom. Shortly after that Cheryl stopped by. So nice seeing everyone. We felt like family! We started with the French Onion soup and zucchini and eggplant chips. Excellent! The soup was one of the best I've had. I ordered the rib eye and my wife the snapper. The snapper was served over a chickpea sauté and my wife loved it. The steak was done to perfection. It had a great char but was still juicy and flavorful. We finished with cappuccino, cheese cake, and ice cream. Between the attentive service and great food we can't wait to go back! read more

A neighborhood gem! We were greeted so warmly and happily by owner and server! We were not the only customers but surely felt so special! And who doesn't love dining to the romantic sounds of Italian music? I have travelled through Europe, Asia and the USA. I really enjoy the food and cultures of the world and must say how very impressed I was with John Iachetti's menu, freshness, flavors and presentations! We recently held my folks 50th wedding anniversary there. John and his staff were accommodating from when we first him and his staff to the day of the party. We had the restaurant to ourselves and I must admit the atmosphere was quite cozy. And I don't usually use the word cozy. Lol. The food was excellent and the service was non stop. Met a bunch of friends here for dinner and was looking forward to a place with such high yelp stars. Disappointed in my entree. A few of us shared some starters - eggplant balls, really good, crisply fried but not greasy, and the roasted cauliflower, also good. But there was a special on the menu that night, & 2 of us ordered it - horrible, probably should've sent it back but it was already getting late. I generally LOVE grilled calamari, but this was about 4 thin slices of calamari, & they sure didn't seem grilled. They were greasy and so hard to cut that we asked for sharp steak knives. Way too chewy. The arugula beneath the few slices of calamari was fine, but this was a pretty skimpy portion of poorly cooked seafood. Some of the other entrees my friends ordered they enjoyed, such as the short ribs ravioli (or was it gnocchi?) and the artichoke & hearts of palm cakes - though the latter was also a small-ish portion, my friend said it was really tasty. I guess if I ever had to come here again, I'd stick with the flatbreads, which when they were served at other tables did look very nice. read more

Iachetti's family meals have been such a valued option for our family during COVID. You get a lot of bang for the buck -- the entire package is enough to feed our family of 4 for at least two meals. And such a variety of dishes -- everyone ends up happy. (I personally like that they include both a salad and a side veggie among everything else). Our kids aren't picky but they won't always eat a lot when we take out from restaurants. But they consistently clean the plate at Iachetti's -- tonight they dug into the pasta, salmon and snow peas (and dessert of course). Most importantly, everyone here is so friendly -- from the person who answers the phone to the person who brings out your meal to John, the owner. It makes all the difference in the world. My husband and I stopped by last week to try Iachetti's out after driving past it a few times. The decor is nice and updated (and most importantly, clean!) Our waiter was very nice and attentive, and even asked upfront about our food allergies (I have some, so I appreciated this). We got a complimentary butternut squash croquettes for apps (I may be butchering the name, but it was like fried breaded butternut squash and corn and maybe cheese?) For our entrees my husband got the BBQ chicken flatbread and I got the beer can chicken. Both were good, but the beer can chicken was amazing. Chicken was cooked perfectly, the jus was delicious, the sides (mashed potatoes and an apple/onion/carrot medley) and the portion was large. They said they were expanding their menu in the new year, but the options offered now (December 2018) were pretty good in terms of variety. We will be returning again! read more
