Within weeks after installation, pit marks and dents began developing on the surface. Over the following months, additional defects continued to appear under normal use. When I reported the issue, Bay Stone initially acknowledged it as a quality concern but directed me to work directly with their supplier rather than handling it themselves. After months of follow-up, the supplier's representative inspected the slabs and offered replacement slabs. I then returned to Bay Stone to request some form of refund instead of replacement, since the cost of uninstalling and reinstalling the slabs makes the replacement offer impractical and financially unreasonable. Bay Stone indicated that a refund might be possible but claimed the supplier required the original slabs to be returned. That was not what I had been told. After I confirmed with the supplier that returning the originals was not required, Bay Stone changed its position. The manager, Kimberley, told me it was "not scientifically possible" for pit marks to develop after installation and suggested I should have identified the issue at delivery. I provided multiple dated photos showing the progression of the defects. After that, my messages went unanswered. What stood out most was the lack of ownership and empathy. Kimberley was not apologetic and did not appear interested in finding a practical resolution. Instead, responsibility was repeatedly shifted, and ultimately, the issue was attributed to me for not raising it at delivery, even though the slabs appeared fine at that time. It felt as though once payment was made, accountability ended. When customers pay premium prices, they expect both quality materials and meaningful support if something goes wrong. In my case, that expectation was not met.

We returned the following day, and Thy helped us find the perfect flooring. She was patient, knowledgeable, and thorough throughout the entire process. Her communication was outstanding, and she made what could have been an overwhelming decision feel easy and stress-free. We also had our flooring delivered to our home, and Quan, our delivery driver, was just as wonderful. As first-time homeowners, we especially appreciated that he took the time to explain different parts of the process to us. Since he is also a contractor, he was able to share valuable insights and tips that helped us better understand what to expect during installation and beyond. We appreciated his friendliness, knowledge, and willingness to educate us! From start to finish, everyone went above and beyond to provide exceptional customer service. We were looking for something different. Cypress is not a cookie cutter place. It has many options for those looking for something different. We were very fortunate to work with Sandy. Sandy is a gem. She knows her stuff, her products, what can be done and what can be a problem. We purchased cabinets, countertops, sinks, drawer pulls and door handles from Cypress. Everything looks lovely. One sink arrived damaged and Sandy put in a rush order to get a new sink Sandy designed the kitchen layout and it is great. We have a lot more space to put things now. We had two blind corners and Sandy put a lazy Susan cabinet in one and a magic box in the other. Now we have access to cabinet space that we hadn't had in over 40 years. Sandy also noticed some problems with the cabinet finishes and worked with the stainers to get the issue resolved. She even delivered the redone items herself. One thing that is great about Sandy is her willingness to work with you to find what you want, not what is on the sales floor. And she never pushes to make a sale. She will present options, but if they aren't for you, she just moves on. We appreciated Sandy keeping us informed about how things are going. If we had a question, a text would be answered promptly. She even answered us when she was on vacation in Hawaii! Cypress is a great store. Take some time to look around. It has lots of nooks and crannies that have interesting items. The other smaller shops just making a model on computer based on the idea I told them. I want professional to provided suggestion to build on my idea. Something likes "it would be cheaper and easier to install if you do this..." When I asked questions regarding to specific details, most of the people I talked to at the other cabinet places could not answer. Advance was the fifth cabinet place I visited. I talked to Patrick on my first visit. He is very knowledgeable and quick in thinking. He caught some of the mistake in our floor plan, and explain why certain things have to be added to the order. I had problem finalizing the color. Patrick helped us on that as well. When we finalize the plan, the price is lower than all the other estimates I received. The cabinets and the quartz were delivered without any problem. They look exactly as I imaged after they are installed. Everything fitted perfectly. Store is not large but among the selection they had they managed to tick all the boxes for me. I wanted solid wood, non white option and advance had these beautiful natural solid wood cabinets. I got excited and quickly placed an order for both our bathrooms. We had worked with Patrick, he is easily the smartest person we had come across over the course of our remodel hunt. He had renderings drawn up in a few minutes and provided unbiased feedback. We were meanwhile also trying to design our tv wall. We got quotes in the upwards of 20k for just that wall and I knew I didn't want to spend so much. Then an idea struck me, why not use the cabinets from advance which are typically meant for bathrooms and kitchens in this area as well? With some careful planning I knew I could make this work but needed validation. We ended up at advance again and shared the idea with Patrick and within a few minutes and in less than 3k we got cabinets for the tv wall. I had a few questions about the products, but unfortunately received no response at all from the sales who sold me the products. Avoid Gooder at all costs - completely unprofessional design service and zero accountability…read more We paid Gooder for their full-service cabinet design, trusting them to deliver a professional, detail-oriented result. We specifically provided the exact model of our drawer-style microwave early in the design process. What we weren't told--and what any competent designer should have known--is that this microwave can be installed in two ways: 1. Standard installation, where the microwave protrudes past the cabinet face, and 2. Flush mount installation, where it sits seamlessly within the cabinet frame. Gooder never informed us of this critical difference. Their in-store displays were all flush-mounted. The manufacturer's website images also showcase flush installations. Naturally, we assumed that was what we'd get. But when the cabinets arrived and we attempted installation, we realized the microwave could not be flush-mounted with the cabinets as designed. The result? * The microwave juts out awkwardly. * There is a visible gap so large we can literally stick a finger through it. * The aesthetics are terrible, and functionally it also affects the drawer cabinet below. When we contacted Gooder, they took zero responsibility. Their excuse? "You didn't specifically request a flush install." That's unacceptable. We're paying for a design service precisely because we expect the designer to flag critical compatibility details--not for us to study every product image and anticipate these issues ourselves. Even more frustrating, I proactively suggested reasonable fixes--such as modifying the cabinet slightly or adding a trim frame--to salvage the situation. Their response? "Oh, we can't do that." Days later, their so-called "solution" was to send us bigger hinges. Seriously? How would that solve the protruding microwave? What about the drawer underneath? What about the giant gap? It was a completely useless suggestion, showing they had no intention of helping us find a real fix. Summary: * Poor communication * Lack of design expertise * No attention to product compatibility * No ownership when problems arise * Pathetic, non-solutions offered after the fact Gooder was happy to take our money but disappeared the moment an issue came up.
