Some helpful hints based on our experience: 1. A big countertop dealer like MSI, located in Elk Grove Village, has a very large showroom where you can see the full countertop slabs. We had some preferences based on the web site pictures and the little quartz samples, but ended up selecting a different slab once we were in the showroom. You really want to see the full countertop slabs before your decision is finalized. 2. We were really disappointed with the Home Depot service, which is The Countertop Factory - Midwest. There was an extremely hard sell visit to our house and a take-it-or-leave it price. 3. Many quartz countertop installation services want you to select quartz they already have in stock. Davan let us shop around and we selected an MSI countetop, which MSI already had in stock. Our job therefore proceeded quickly from final slab selection to installation (less than two weeks). 4. I was unnecessarily nervous about our kitchen tile backsplash when our old formica countertops were replaced with new quartz countertops. We wanted to retain the old kitchen backsplash. That was not a problem and the installation occurred smoothly.

We made it clear that the counter had to be lifted at anytime if a repair was required on the washer or dryer. Upon install, they glued the counter down. Shortly thereafter, they had to remove the glue. Since the wall was damaged at that point, they tried to cut the stone down some. We just had to lift it again yesterday and now the wall has to be repaired again.... And I need to find someone to grind it down. I reached out to them another time in the recent past about it still not being the right size, but didn't get a response.

We were in a bind and needed to have countertops available for the contractor to complete our kitchen in a very short time frame. My wife found DJ Marble through a Google search around 10AM on a Sunday morning and called. She expected to leave a message and was surprised when Derrick answered. She explained the situation and Derrick asked us to meet him at noon at a stone supplier. He took us around and explained each type in great detail. We finally picked the "perfect" quartzite stone only to find out that most of the stock was on hold for another customer. He smiled and said he'd be right back. About 10 minutes later he came back saying "the stone is yours"... the material was delivered to DJ Marble's shop the next day. Derrick came to our house to measure and discuss details that we never considered, offering great insight and knowledge. We met with him 2 days later at his shop to layout the pieces, and with his help, ended up with enough extra material to include a backsplash in the laundry area. The integrated white sink was also looking dingy. Well, the Stone Shop did a truly outstanding job repairing the break and making the sink look brand new. The repair was a difficult one to do, involving color matching and a rounded edge. We couldn't be more pleased with this outfit. They do excellent work at a fair price and they're really nice people to boot.

I'd remodeled my guest bathroom and kept the original tub while retiling the surround. The tub…read moreoriginally had a half shower door, that I'd had removed during the remodel, so the tub definitely had some marks and years of wear and tear. My parents had used their local Miracle Method and were happy with the results and I decided to use them too. John came over and walked me through the process before starting. I am so happy with the outcome. My tub looks like new, shiny white and any imperfections are gone. I felt like the price was very reasonable. John did such a nice job and was a real pleasure to work with. I absolutely recommend the Miracle Method.

Altogether I would definitely recommend for refinishing older tubs and resurfacing of countertops…read morein situations where installing new countertops is not an option. This is an established company with proprietary method for refinishing. They did a thorough job and were able to substantially improve an older tub with some serious rusting issues. They have also revived older countertops. I would knock-off a fraction of a star because I had hoped that they would do a slightly better job of filling and smoothing the older countertop before refinishing, but would still recommend them. Have a conversation about the price before closing to make sure it makes sense for you.
