Some helpful hints based on our experience: 1. A big countertop dealer like MSI, located in Elk Grove Village, has a very large showroom where you can see the full countertop slabs. We had some preferences based on the web site pictures and the little quartz samples, but ended up selecting a different slab once we were in the showroom. You really want to see the full countertop slabs before your decision is finalized. 2. We were really disappointed with the Home Depot service, which is The Countertop Factory - Midwest. There was an extremely hard sell visit to our house and a take-it-or-leave it price. 3. Many quartz countertop installation services want you to select quartz they already have in stock. Davan let us shop around and we selected an MSI countetop, which MSI already had in stock. Our job therefore proceeded quickly from final slab selection to installation (less than two weeks). 4. I was unnecessarily nervous about our kitchen tile backsplash when our old formica countertops were replaced with new quartz countertops. We wanted to retain the old kitchen backsplash. That was not a problem and the installation occurred smoothly.

We finally picked the "perfect" quartzite stone only to find out that most of the stock was on hold for another customer. He smiled and said he'd be right back. About 10 minutes later he came back saying "the stone is yours"... the material was delivered to DJ Marble's shop the next day. My parents had used their local Miracle Method and were happy with the results and I decided to use them too. John came over and walked me through the process before starting. I am so happy with the outcome. My tub looks like new, shiny white and any imperfections are gone. I felt like the price was very reasonable. John did such a nice job and was a real pleasure to work with. I absolutely recommend the Miracle Method.

This is an established company with proprietary method for refinishing. They did a thorough job and were able to substantially improve an older tub with some serious rusting issues. They have also revived older countertops. I would knock-off a fraction of a star because I had hoped that they would do a slightly better job of filling and smoothing the older countertop before refinishing, but would still recommend them. Have a conversation about the price before closing to make sure it makes sense for you.
