This wasn't the cheapest place we found for quartz cuts for our bathroom renovation but it was definitely on the lower side. Given how professional they were, the fact that they were more knowledgeable than most of the people we met, and also very efficient and reliable, I believe that this place was the best quartz fabricator for the money. Best value, I should say. They have higher end remnants in the back usually as well such as Caesarstone. What started as a positive experience was ruined after final installation of my backsplash. With a small kitchen I choose to install quartz on my counters and backsplash to really create a statement. Granite Selection had sent over their template for the seams prior to cutting and insisted they were necessary behind my sink and I agreed to the alignment they provided. However the installation was completely off on the veining of the quartz behind my sink and did not match what they showed in the template for approval. I have called 10+ times to have them fix this as my kitchen is small and it does not look right. I have only been able to talk to the business owner Paul once and he has constantly ignored me. Beware - they require a check up front and if you have any issues they will ignore you and happily keep your money. After shopping at Home Depot and being told that they use a place in Elk Grove Village, I decided to check some places out. (Disclosure: I do not believe this is THE place that Home Depot uses.) Anyway, got to Granite Selection early, at a time when there was nobody in the office but the production manager let us look at the slabs. I see a lot of comments about pricing in some of the other reviews below but all I can tell you is that I paid about 34% less and got a better stone than what I was looking at at the Depot. We went over to the office and the very nice lady made our appointment for measuring. That gentleman was timely. Got my finalized quote in 2 hours and went and paid for the slab 2 days later. (You do pay % if you use a credit card) Within 1 week, our countertops were installed. The installation crew was so very professional, clean and neat. I would highly recommend these folks if you want to cut out the middleman and still have a great experience. read more

This was the second time we have used them and it will be our last. First time was several years ago and the service was amazing, so we went back and had a very different experience . Went to the location on 12/30/24 to pick out a quartz counter for a bathroom remodel we were working on. Paid cash up front and was given a 7 day (ish) timeframe. Very reasonable. Called them after 10 days to inquire about the completion timeline. Left message and got no response, called again 2 days later and also had to leave a message that went unanswered again. Finally took the 45 minute drive up to their location on 1/15/25 to get answers. Was told it would be ready on Friday 1/17/25. Drove back up on 1/17/25 and got there an hour before they closed, projects still wasn't done, they completed it while I waited, luckily I checked the counters before I left, back splash had wrong ends polished. They also didn't have the sink for the counter which they had to go get while I was there. Finally got everything by 430, didn't check the sink before I left, got home to install before our guest arrived and the sink was cracked. Sourced a sink from local competitor the next morning. I brought them the sink back on 1/20/25 and simply asked to be compensated for the $60 sink I had to purchase and they couldn't do it for me without owner approval. I was assured I'd get a call and get my $60 back, I've heard nothing and it's now 2/1/25. I gone there 4 times. I haven't been made whole. They don't seem to care. It's a shame too because they do great work. Proceed with caution when working with Granite Selection. Communication is horrible these days. read more

(See Update below this review) On June 23, Granite Selections installed my counters; I saved for years to redo my kitchen and quartz counters were a huge part of that cost. It was almost 6K for the white quartz material, install etc. The day after install, I noticed my seams (2 seams on either side of sink) were darker. Long areas of gray followed by areas of perfect white (the way it should be), and then another patch of darker gray.I called GS, and they sent a man out to "fix" this. He left without fixing it, and I've been told to deal with the owner. Bottom line: Zoey, the sales person there said "this isn't right" when she saw the photos I sent. I was told to deal with Pavel, the owner, and he is ghosting me. In two months I spoke to him once, and he wasn't in the least sympathetic nor did he offer a solution. Would HE want to spend 6K for counters and end up with this issue? WHITE QUARTZ NEEDS WHITE SEAMS. PERIOD. There should be no gray whatsoever in these seams. It is clearly a mistake. I will NOT be be ignored as this is just not fair nor right. UPDATE: on August 28, the owner sent someone out to try to fix the seams. And I am grateful he stopped ignoring me and did this. The problem is, the seams look no different after the "repair". My husband was home and sent me photos of the work in progress, so I know he did the work, but the end result doesn't look much different from before the repair was done. Oh sorry, our ad only says install and delivery included...we charge separately to cut and fabricate on top of our online prices. My 2 examples of their FALSE ADVERTISING: 1) Marble advertised on web site for $55/sqft x 21 sqft project = $1,155. Sorry, you have to order 30 sq ft minimum to get that price. Ok........ 30 x $55 = $1,650. By the time they are done screwing me around I was quoted at $1,960.00 $805 over web advertised price. ~70% increase over web advertised price that does not mention minimum sqft or fabrication additional! 2) Quartz advertised on web site for $65/sqft x 21 sqft project = $1,365. Sorry, you have to order 30 sq ft minimum to get that price. Ok........ 30 x $65 = $1,950. Two thumbs way way up! I'm SO glad I found Granite Selection. First, they were able to rush an installation at the last minute to fall within my existing renovation window. I'm talking next day measurement, second day fabrication, third day installation. Unheard of in this market! When things were going well, and the owner was here at my house to help his installers move a large slab for my island, he asked me to please put a review here, and also on Houzz... Since he has not been reachable since things have gone south with my experience, I will fulfill his wishes and leave him a review here (even if it is not there with you he was wishing for)... First things first, this was our first experience buying granite for a kitchen upgrade. The first place we were referred to for this project (which I'm told is a typical way to select stone), was a "fabricator". The fabricator then sends you to 2 to 3 different suppliers of stone, where you choose the type/styles of stone you want, bring the name of the stone to the fabricator, who gives you a final price for fabrication and install. It was all very time consuming, but also in the end was out of our budget. When we found Granite Selection, we were happy to learn that not only do they fabricate, but also have a decent supply of material to choose from, and you walk out of there with a quote in hand. This made the process faster and was much more affordable. We found the perfect slab, that had the colors of both our new island, and of our existing cabinets that we were not replacing. There were only two slabs of this particular style in this particular color. We were confirmed of this while looking at the first stone, as the one immediately behind it was slightly darker in color, but also was considerably shorter in length. Milan, who is the salesman we worked with, instructed some of the workers to move the second slab as well as two others behind it in order to find the match of the slab in the front that we liked. Milan agreed that the two slabs we chose (the one in front, and 4 slabs behind that one) were a matched pair given the matching color and size of them compared to the others. Since we needed two slabs to complete the job, there was simply ZERO room for error. With our two matching slabs chosen, we put down the deposit to reserve the slabs selected an install date and then they came and did final measurements. When Paul (the owner) came for the final measurement, I *personally* handed him the template for the double sink I had purchased, fresh out of the box, and with an arrow pointing to exactly which line on the template they should be using to cut. He also asked me to write my name and install date on the template. Between the final measure and install date, they called to collect payment in full...BEFORE the install...(Never have I done this with a vendor, and never will I ever again...) On the day of the install, they came and installed a very large slab for the island (which is when Paul came back to assist) as well as the long countertop for our pantry/double sink. They realized upon installing the pantry countertop, that there fabricators cut the hole for the double sink too big! I was an absolute shock considering that: a) I had *personally* handed the OWNER a template with a specific size that was needed, and b) knew that we *only* had the two slabs to work from, and that there was no way they would be enough material left over to recut a new sink hole. The installers called the office and told me that someone would call me to discuss a solution... And no one called. I had to call them to find out what was going to happen next and I also called the owner who said they would figure it out. The next day, my wife and I had no choice but to return to their facility to look at remaining pieces of the "similar" stone (the original ones we passed on due to not matching in color, but have the same style name) to choose a replacement stone. Damian, the guy who did the CAD drawing (that lays out where the cuts will be on the stone), said that he didn't never got the template from Paul, and that he never does. He just pulls the templates from the sink manufacturer's website based on the model number (which I also gave Milan). He claims that the sink manufacturer changed the way they display the templates and so he misread it by accident. So at least he took full responsibility I'll give him that... They came back a few days later, with a properly cut sink hole, and installed it...but it really ISN'T the stone we chose and isn't an exact match to the stone on our island. Many years of deciding if/when we'll ever get around to doing this project, we finally DO it...and NOW we'll have to look at this f*ck up the rest of our lives in the house...and not a SINGLE apology from the owner! I reached out to Paul several times to try and get him to come and see it for himself, in order for him to, at the very least, consider some sort of partial refund since this isn't the slab we chose originally. He kept saying he'd stop by....but just...didn't! It all started very well and went south quickly, which is unfortunate because the installers were very good at their jobs. The counter was measured incorrectly, the edge of one counter poorly finished. Sent someone out to fix edge but wasn't able to fix it. Never heard back from Paul after that. Overall, our finished kitchen granite countertops look really good. They were a reasonable price. However, customer service is definitely lacking. The morning our counters were supposed to be installed, Granite Selection called and cancelled; they ultimately blamed the crane company they used (saying different things like the crane would not fit through our back balcony or the crane was broken, but it ultimately seems like they forgot they needed a crane permit in Chicago). They refused to come out for another 4 days which meant I was without a kitchen as I already had to take out my faucet and kitchen sink. GS gave us a quote for Midnight Majesty-Concrete and we scheduled measurements and installation. When the contractors arrived for installation, they not only brought the wrong countertops (they brought polished, not concrete), but they were also cut incorrectly. Despite the fact that we provided a physical sample, requested NO quotes for a polish finish, and confirmed over the phone and via email that we wanted to move forward with Midnight Majesty-Concrete, they placed the wrong order. The contractors said these mistakes happen often because of "Zoe". We called many times to get in touch with someone to remeasure and to discuss reinstallation. Nobody called to tell me. The granite is cracking in 5 places & it's only 6 months old. The repairman did finally show up after i called to complain. We were initially very happy with our quartz countertops, great prices, good turn around time, installation without any issues. But 6 months later one of the slabs started to yellow. We never used harsh cleaners on any of the countertops and this was only an issue with one of the slabs. They agreed to come out but spent the time trying to say it was the lighting in the room. Made no sense since slab next to it is not yellowing. When we pressed the issue they stated it was the manufacturer issue not theirs. They told us they would connect us with manufacturer, multiple calls and texts still no help connecting to manufacturers. Received quotes from several fabricators and Granite Selection beat them all in the neighborhood of $600 to $1,100.00!! Had a smaller showroom then some I visited, but was amazed at the beautiful and even uinque slabs! Kudos to the one(s) responsible for selecting these gorgeous, ancient stones! Customer service was good though at times had some difficulty with understanding due to heavy accents, but definitely worth it! About two weeks after slab selection, the installers came out, were on time, professional and had a great sense of humor! They worked hard and I was amazed that the two of them were able to carry one of the peices that was about 8' long! Matthew took some time to explain how to care for this beautiful piece of Azul White Granite and pointed out a few other interesting "tid bits" of information. After they left, I did notice a quarter-sized spot which was filled in with a white apoxy(?), apparently after fabricated and polished, but this was immediately followed up by customer service. They sent their tech, Adolfo, who did FANTASTIC job! Truly a skilled technician! I couldn't even find where it was! He also went over all the Granite with a "fine tooth comb" and made sure everything was perfect before he left! I am happy and definitely recommend them! read more

My experience with Paul the owner went like this he came to my home to measure, I told him I could get him a job next-door he said he would give me a discount on my job. he got the job next-door! I did not get a discount. when I called him he told me he gave the neighbor the discount I asked when my countertops were going to be installed I was informed they would be installed on Tuesday no one had called me to schedule. it's like we got shuffled to the back when they got the neighbors job, because it is a larger job than ours. There are very few occasions when people go out of their to help you out. Well we were in a really tough situation with a tight timeline and had to finish our mud room project within 3 weeks. This meant timing every single contractor to come at a certain time. The most difficult one to manage was the granite because we needed to wait till the counters were in and it was difficult to know exactly when it would be ready. So we needed tremendous flexibility and so we called Paul. He had a 3 week waiting schedule but he understood the urgency. So he stopped everything and the team showed up with exactly what we were looking for and got everything done in an hour. This was our 2nd time working with Paul and we have recommended him to at least 10 more people and everyone loves Paul and team. I have now called four times, emailed multiple times and have only received a one sentence email reply saying that they are not going to fix the issue. Just got granite installed for a second home from this company. I've also recommended them to quite a few clients (Realtor) and have personally supervised about 5 other jobs that they've done for me for out of town clients. Here's the deal: This company has some of the best prices per grade of granite. Period. Only reason I don't say the absolute best prices is because I haven't researched all places. But if there's a cheaper place, I haven't found it. I found this company maybe 4 years ago when I was pricing out granite for our first home. It was mostly just a website back then. They had prices listed that were cheaper for mid-grade slabs than most companies do for low-grade. They were pricing out a Black Pearl at $33psqft - most other companies were well over that for inferior styles. Back on our first house, you went to MSI and chose the slab - now they are importing some styles themselves but for lower prices. Check them out - they have quite a few premium and ultra premium options for great prices. If you still want to go to MSI and look, you can still make an appointment and go but prices may be a bit higher. Anyway, we chose an exotic grade slab for our new home (Solarius) and paid $45psqft. Unbeatable IMHO for what we got (and no they didn't give me a special discount or anything - I didn't even tell them I've given them a lot of business). For measurement, they come out with a big machine and the cuts are accurate. Granite looks great - no pits or cracks. From time of order to install it was about 1 week. I ordered a table from Ashley furniture and that's at least a 2-week delivery - one week for granite including fabrication time is phenomenal. Installers know what they're doing - they've probably done this hundreds of times so they were quick (2-3 hour install) and skilled. I got a little lucky on the timing so that one week may not be standard - I took advantage of another party who cancelled, but still. Now here's the thing - because this is a discount place with wholesale prices, you'll get a fantastic deal but customer service is lacking. I'm being honest here. However, if you know that going in, you can decide if it's worth if for you to save a couple grand on your granite here or go somewhere where they'll treat you like the Archduke and Duchess and charge a hefty premium. My advice - do your research before you go - decide what sink style you want and what edge profile. They will take you to the slab warehouse and you will get to look at and pick out slabs. Bring a big flashlight. The overhead lighting isn't the best in there and you can get a better idea of the slab color with a flashlight or if you forget, use your phone. Be ready to put down a $1-2k deposit. If you want them to remove your old tops and sink you'll have to pay for it - be prepared. If you have some flexible times for measuring and installation that's you're best bet. Hope this helps - I saw the other negative reviews here and while I can understand what they said, I can see it's mostly customer-service-oriented, when the most important thing here is a fantastic end result. Do I think that the price justifies poorer communication? Absolutely. Just expect it and you'll be happy. read more

Then had me leave work early for new appointment & never showed up. When i called to ask why, they told me that i was out of their travel range, although they had been to my house 1 time before.
