We were in a pinch, as our water pump needed to be replaced before a coming road trip. Our regular…read moremechanic could not fit us in, but he recommended ONB, who was able to get us in that day (mid-July of 2026). ONB staff were very courteous and helpful, and good communicators. They replaced the water pump and found a few other concerns. Prices seemed high. They also asked if we wanted our rear brakes replaced (citing 4 mm status). We said no thank you but after our vacation double checked our paperwork from our regular mechanic. Sure enough, he had replaced our rear brakes in March of 2026. Since then, we'd put 1600 miles on the car. As a result of this observation by ONB, we took our car back to the original mechanic in August 2026. He wanted to confirm that the brakes were not defective. He removed the wheels and confirmed that they were still in perfect condition. Our mechanic stated that our front brakes would eventually need to be replaced, but no time soon. So, we were left wondering why ONB told us this information. My husband reached out to Tyler at ONB, asking why we were told our rear brakes were at risk. Tyler was polite and willing to dialogue. He stated that they must have made an error, that perhaps they wrote the information for another customer on our account. Tyler said that they wouldn't have replaced the rear brakes had we brought them in and the mechanic discovered their error. When my husband revealed that the front brakes were needing eventual replacement, Tyler stated that this must have been the issue - they meant to write front, not rear. In the best-case scenario, they would have discovered their error and not replaced the rear brakes. Worst case scenario, they were lying to us and trying to get us in for extra work. Either way, we don't feel comfortable returning.

I just did not want to deal with it anymore. The new owner later told me it was just a clogged brake line. Also, the shop lost the cap to my brake fluid reservoir. They denied it and did not have a replacement.

I was so impressed that Ann jumped right in to opine what it was because I don't know much about cars. She directed me to the auto parts store to get a particular hose, I returned and she and Octavio went to town immediately! Tools, attachments, funnel and Ann even gave some of her specialized antifreeze that she said would really do the job. They burped the engine of air, put cap on and I was good to go! I can't complain about the price either, way less than I expected. Ann is very personable knowledgeable and said she teaches the public in classes how to fix their cars. I had to go there and hand them the phone multiple times. I would show up during business hours to the gate locked. Ultimately I sat there one day and waited for them to open the gate and got it towed to the dealership and it was fixed within weeks. I do not recommend them at all. Poor communication and total lack of respect. When my vehicle was towed away they called the tow company stating they owed them fees for vehicle storage after they explicitly told me I didn't owe them a dime. Highly recommend you go elsewhere.

I was expecting to pay a lot, but to my surprise, they just charged me for the cost of the gas cap which replaced the loose one that triggered the sensor and turned the light on. Thank you, A1!

Back in 2015 I had an oil change performed at A1 Auto Service Center on my 2014 Mazda 6. Several…read moreweeks later my oil pressure light came on while driving and my engine sounds were alarming. I took the car to my dealership and they pointed out that the oil filter had likely failed as the oil had leaked out which caused heavy engine damage. I contacted A1 Auto Service Center and was told that since the oil filter was good when I drove away, that it was my problem to deal with. After a LOT of back and forth over weeks and months WIX, A1 Auto Service Center's oil filter supplier, eventually covered the damage to my car. However the approximate $5,000 in rental car charges that I incurred, due to not having a working vehicle for several months, was never recouped. After doing some research into the industry, it turns out shops like A1 Auto Service Center are required to have insurance to cover situations like this and they didn't have it. In the end A1 Auto Service Center put the responsibility on me to pursue their oil filter supplier while they refused to take any responsibility. A reputable shop would have provided a backup vehicle while they took point and got it sorted out. I understand companies being cautious about accepting liability but this should never come at the expense of the customer. I felt helpless as these two companies consistently pointed the finger at each other all while I'm incurring debt in order to secure transportation just so I don't lose my job and ability to provide for my family. The way the owner/manager conducted himself towards me was disgraceful, disrespectful, and showed a complete lack of care for my situation as his customer. Everyone I spoke to that was involved in this ordeal had similar things to say him and the way he does business. This is, by far, the worst experience in customer service that I have ever received. That is why I have come back 10 years later to drop this review.
