Some of the meals you're cooking are simpler than others. We had a pear arugula salad, bolognese, and olive oil cake on the menu. The chef and her crew were great! They took their time and explained everything to us. For the pasta, we actually made the noodles! Which was really cool! The whole experience was so much fun! You get to eat the food after you're done, but make sure you eat it because you cannot take the leftovers. Everything was yummy! Tip: you can BYOB! We brought our own bottle of wine! They don't charge a corkage fee and have glasses for you. I highly recommend a cooking class! Especially with friends or a date night. It was a lot of fun! When we got to the class, it was completely full and we were paired with another couple. Among the 4 of us, we made potstickers filled with shrimp and pork, as well as bbq pork bao buns. Our instructor was great - I enjoyed his humor and he made the class lively! We were greeted with tea to sip on and the ingredients were prepped in advance with small containers of each sauce, veggies, mushrooms, etc. We took turns chopping, or whisking, or using the stand mixer. I learned some useful knife skills as well! It was fun learning how to fold the wonton wrappers as well as the dough for the bao buns. I appreciated the chance to learn multiple delicious recipes and we had a fun group! I would have appreciated more observation of making the bbq pork as that was pre-prepared, and going through the multiple ingredients we used as they were not labeled. That being said, we received recipe booklets so that we can try them on our own. We had a pause midway through the class during which the Sur La Table staff steamed our potstickers and bao buns and we browsed the store with our day-of discount. When we returned, I enjoyed sharing the delicious dim sum! We were pretty full towards the end but learned that we can't take any of the food out of the store due to any risk on the store which was a bummer. Nevertheless our group chowed down and finished our tasty meal! I enjoyed all the instructors and staff at this location and would certainly be open to coming back, though for a special occasion as their classes are on the pricey end.

I went to the Highland Village store today to return it with the idea of the purchaser receiving the money back on their credit card and had the receipt and order number in hand. No-go with Crate & Barrel, as the original purchaser must be there, otherwise it is a gift card for store credit. I wasn't asking for cash, just a simple return. The store manager came over, and he came across as very arrogant and condescending. I didn't take the gift card option, and will wait for two more weeks for the original purchaser to be here for the holidays where we will once again waste even more time doing what Crate & Barrel should have done in the first place.

First cabinet delivery all the door fronts were wrong, he received two left sided pantry cabinets and numerous damaged/defective cabinets (bubbling paint, cracked frames) Four days later just the new doors come (so our contractors workers have to remove all the old doors and replace the new doors which added another day) and still no replacement cabinets of the damaged ones for three more days. Replacement cabinets finally come and one is still damaged. (This one doesn't come for another two days) It was one thing after another with them. The cabinets alone held up the whole project for over a week and caused so much extra work for his workers. Onto the quartz installation.... The day of installation they were supposed to be at our home at 11:00. They pushed it to 12:30, then 2:00, then 2:30. They then asked to reschedule for the next day and our contractor said absolutely not... show up today and nobody leaves until its done. (We had no sinks in the house to use for two days at this point) They agreed and said we have five guys to get this done quick. They showed up at 4:15 pm and were there until 9:30 pm with 4 guys working in the dark and left all razor blades in the street that we picked up in the morning so a child wouldn't pick them up. They also damaged THREE cabinets when putting it in!! So now we had to replace another door front and try to fix two cabinets or the whole run of cabinets would need to be taken down to replace the damaged ones (holding up the project once again). Our contractor was able to fix the two the best he could and did a very good job. We do a couple warped cabinets and are hoping they settle in with use as adjustments didn't help.Once they were done our contractor had major words withe Bobby the owner and Bobby stated they've had some issues recently and he would make it up to him on the next job and our contractor made it clear there will not be a next job!!!
