We absolutely love this place and come here every single week! The staff is always so friendly and welcoming, and the food is consistently fresh and delicious. One of my favorite things is their weekly specials there's always something amazing to try! Some of our family favorites are the potato cakes, BLTs (my kids love to get it for breakfast), biscuits and gravy, and chorizo. Such a huge bummer! Is this place under different ownership or have they changed their menu/standards? We tried this spot out for the first time this morning after driving by it for years. The Owner's Yelp business description states they "specialize in breakfast", which sounded awesome. Reviews and photos looked so promising. Our experience was nothing like what others have shared though :( The space is nice and spacious, with an old school vibe which we liked, and we were so hopeful upon entering for the first time. Service was polite enough...but felt insincere and disinterested in taking good care of the customer. The one employee who I felt actually cared was the hostess, but the waitstaff seem to just be going through the motions. We shared it was our first time coming and we were excited to treat ourselves to a rare breakfast out. We needed a few extra minutes to study the menu since it was our first visit, but then we got forgotten about. I attempted to catch the waitresses attention numerous times with no success. After waiting about ten minutes longer than was reasonable, I did seek out the hostess's help in tracking down someone who could take our order. She was super apologetic, but of course it wasn't her job as she was busy seating people and handling her own tasks. The biggest disappointment was the food - in looking back at the photos the French toast we ordered looked nothing like the photos - first, when I asked what the difference between the 1/2 and full order was we were told it was 4 slices vs. 6 slices. That definitely seemed to justify the price so we ordered a half order for my young boy and I to share. What came out was shockingly different - it was two tiny slices of bread that looked like the inexpensive sliced grocery store bread. Because it was already small thinly sliced bread before being cooked, it was truly tiny once plated. We were honestly surprised they felt comfortable serving it. Maybe they ran out of their thick large French toast bread? No matter, they certainly shouldn't have served what we received though. It was confusing and embarrassing, IMO. So, we were misinformed that it was a 4 slice portion when it was 2 small thin slices of bread cut in half...that is not 4 slices of French toast. And then the waitress didn't come around our entire meal so I couldn't inquire about it until we were done. I ended up giving the French toast to my boy who ate it all in under 120 seconds, no joke (because there wasn't much to eat) and then he said he was still hungry. I, too, was quite hungry. Other family members agreed that the taste was good, but nothing special, and the servings did not match the high prices. So, the food was tasty enough but the portions were unreasonably small and do not justify the price, the service lacks greatly, and the misinformation was truly disappointing and misleading. When I did politely ask at the end about why she said it was 4 slices vs. 6 slices the waitress backpedaled stating she meant it was 4 halves vs. 6 halves...and then she apologized that we were leaving hungry and offered me a biscuit. ??? Why would I want a biscuit? I just wanted the meal the waitress told me I was ordering. I wanted what some previous customers have shared in their photos here. The French toast in the photos here on Yelp looks legit and exactly what we wanted and expected...again, so odd the kitchen staff felt comfortable plating up the order we received. Zero quality control there. Honestly, it was just a weird and disappointing experience that had us leaving hungry and unsatisfied, so we went home and prepared a meal there. We are super chill people with realistic expectations, so for us to struggle with this first experience says a lot about how subpar it was. The price of a soft drink is unreasonable as well ($5) - which isn't a huge deal, but with the disappointing food it was just the icing on the cake. A large cup is served but it's completely filled with ice. When asked if we wanted a refill she brought a small cup over with 85% ice and some soda, using that small cup to refill the large cup...splashing soda all over the table and then having to use her dirty damp rag shoved in her apron pocket to clean it up around our food plates, which was definitely unsanitary and made us cringe. There were customers there though - not sure if they were first-timers like us due to the new Farmers Market, but maybe they do have a repeat clientele so none of this matters to them because they can keep their doors open without new customers like us. Sad to try a local business we were excited about and then have this disappointing experience. We envisioned making trips to the new Farmers Market across the street often and then enjoying a wonderful breakfast afterwards, as a nice new Saturday morning tradition. I have been meaning to try this place out but being on a constant diet bc youre a fat bastard makes it difficult. Seeing as how its bulking season, I finally had a chance to give it a shot and boy am I glad I did. This is probably my new favorite breakfast spot. Its not perfect, but its still great. We got the Cooter's benedict...which isnt really a Benedict but more just biscuits and gravy. The sausage was surprisingly hand made! I couldn't believe it. Usually most places just give you pre-made Jimmy Dean's type of sausages. My wife doesnt like sausage in general and she actually loves the sausage here. The country potatoes are something that I skip almost everytime from every single breakfast spot, but for what is probably the first time ever, they were actually seasoned! Whatever person thought that just putting oil, onions, and bell peppers in a pan for a few minutes and the serving it should be castrated. The plate could have used more gravy, but the biscuits were so fluffy they basically fell apart and weren't dry and hard like some places. And you know how some places charge to split a plate? Not here! We also got the stuffed French toast which was just as great. The toast wasn't too eggy, plenty of scratch made whipped cream, and weren't skimpy on the blueberries either. Also wasn't overstuffed where all you could taste was cream cheese. I did try the homemade looking jam, but I would say its a bit concerning. I cant imagine them cleaning out the container after every table leaves and you never know what type of person before you is in the jar. All in all, this is the new default breakfast spot for sure. read more

My client and I needed some delicious brunch after running errands all morning and she told me to pick where we should go. After a few minutes, I drive us from E. Roseville Parkway & Douglas, all the way to Granite Rock Grille in Rocklin because I remembered how delicious my last visit here were. We arrived at 1 p.m, an hour before closing and we sat at a large booth right away. After being served waters, a server came by and took our order. My client ordered a Denver Omelet with country potatoes and rye toast off the senior menu. I ordered a C & C omelet with country potatoes with a biscuit & gravy. While we waited for our food to arrive, I admired the American flag mural on the wall. It is cute and country in here and I absolutely love it! Even the bathrooms are painted with a country theme! Our food arrived and after snapping a few pics, I noticed the biscuits & gravy was not hot on my first bite. So I skipped that until our server came back. She got me a new one right away. The temperature was better, but it felt like they only warmed up the gravy. My C & C Omelet comes with 3 eggs, mushrooms, spinach, bacon, cream cheese and regular cheese. It was honestly the best tasting omelet anyone has ever made for me! The cream cheese was weird, but in a good way. It did have a sort of dry edge on one bite, but otherwise, it was a perfectly fluffy homemade looking omelet. The country potatoes are red potatoes with bell peppers and onion. Delicious! It was a lot of food for us. My client took home one of my biscuits and half of her brunch as did I. We had great service and delicious food... I think we are going to make this our spot! read more

Wow what an absolute disappointment honestly, it's been a long time since we've been here but after we went to the new farmers market today, we thought we'd go back and enjoy a nice breakfast ‍that did not happen first of all I was blown away by the prices 4 slices of bacon is $7.99 and a tuna melt for $22.99 are you out of your mind? Price gouging, tiny portions and mediocre service is the perfect best recipe for failure . What a cute local gem! This place is very quaint. The servers are all very friendly and helpful. It was very cute and seemed like a 'local hangout' for many people. We had breakfast and ordered 3 different plates. The pancakes were large and delicious. They also go all out making sure everything is perfect. The syrup is even warmed up! The vegetarian skillet was so yummy! It is large and very filling!! The final item was a linguica omelette. The taste was fantastic but the linguica was a bit overcooked which makes it more difficult to chew, however w everything else it was still quite tasty. Everything was cooked to perfection however did like a little bit of flavor. The toast was fresh and the coffee was hot. It is super humongous. Never skip it as I did last time. Otherwise, the place looks the same with very good and competent service. It seems like the people working here have done so for a very long time. I had forgotten how extensive the menu is for breakfast! There has to be something for everyone, but don't expect anything too creative or low in calories. My choice for this meal was the Santa Fe scramble with home fries. It was an abundant meal and very well prepared. I enjoyed it. The scramble came with a side of salsa that looked and tasted more the consistency of Ketchup. Breakfast is $15. or so, but the portions are very large and filling. The food is terrific, the prices are reasonable and the portions are very satisfying. The interior is very welcoming. The flavors were consistent and their daily soups were delicious with our halve sandwiches. The homemade biscuit was so light and flaky especially with their homemade jams.
