I messaged on FB messenger to see if they had any cakes already made for a celebration and they assured me that they did, they also recommended that I call to see what they had. They held the cake for me until I got there, the Blackberry lemon torte called my name and am thankful that I made that choice, Amazing, Wow!. While I was there I chose to pick up some breakfast, the spinach feta croissant was sooo good, I didn't try the bacon cheddar scone but my friend assured me it was scrumptious. I called them after a random google search for bakeries this past July as I was looking for a cake for my twin's birthday. Anna, the cake artist, and I bandied design ideas back and forth,, I gave her some perimeters and said "have fun with it", which is what all artists want to hear when someone comes to them for a commission. I have rarely seen a more awesome, well rendered cake design for such a wild and loose idea. She nailed it! The cake was delicious, moist and not too heavy, and the Italian buttercream frosting was to die for! I just picked up the second cake I've commissioned from them, and it also looks phenomenal! I can't wait to taste it! So, if you have an off the norm design idea for a cake, have it come out insanely beautiful and taste like baked happiness, this is the place to go! The staff was really nice and friendly, enjoyed talking with them. We went in and got some cupcakes,, which were extremely dry, way too sweet, and tasted off. Think they had been sitting out too long because the chocolate one smelled really weird. We tried giving the cupcakes to a coworker, and he ended up spitting it out. He said they tasted like flavored sawdust. If these were made fresh maybe it would've been a better experience. On the bright side, at least they are decorated pretty! read more

Kind, friendly owners. Delicious pastries. Their cinnamon roll was delicious and different from any I've had before. Crusted with cinnamon and sugar and topped with cream cheese frosting, it was amazing! I let them know I've been on the hunt for the perfect cinnamon roll. It's hard to find one with the perfect cinnamon to bread ratio. When I asked what the difference was between the cinnamon roll and Granny roll was he happily explained. I throughly enjoyed the cream puff that is so unlike the American cream puff, filled overflowing with whip cream and then at the bottom you find a delicious surprise of custard. As much as it pains me to leave a bad review for a business named "Granny's", I cannot for the life of me figure out why every other review is 5 stars. My experience was anything but excellent! I visited Granny's for the first time last week, veiled in excited anticipation, having recently happened upon a fantastic bakery up in northern Idaho which renewed my cravings for truly great baked products. I arrived and was delighted to see such a large selection of items. I pondered the cupcakes, muffins, scones, quiches and all the other yummy looking items as the gal behind the counter stared earnestly at me over the glass case. I ordered 4 cupcakes, two muffins, two orders of deconstructed biscuits and gravy, a couple cheddar "biscuit" things (not sure what they are called) and a whole quiche. All in all it came to just over 50$. I was excited!! I got all the boxes and containers successfully into the car and on the way out of the parking I decided to taste test the gravy. "Hmmm.... Floury...". Not off to a good start. Once home I decided to cut a couple of the baked goods into halves and try them. First to go was the raspberry/lemon cupcake. The flavor wasn't bad but the cake was dry and the frosting was super thick like it had too much shortening in it and maybe was old..? Next was the blueberry muffin. Again: dry, and not much flavor. My little foodie heart began to sink. When my better half came home, he tried the same treats that I had cut into and confirmed that it wasn't just me. Bummer. For dinner we had the quiche (mushroom and spinach) and it had almost no flavor. Like, for real; no seasoning at all. By this point I'd lost all faith. That night we sampled the other cupcakes and the last muffin. I found my carrot cake cupcake to be delightfully moist and yummy, but my BF's was dry according to him. Maybe his was old? The lemon cupcake and the lemon poppyseed muffin were both dry and seemed old. The flavor was good but the cake was otherwise not. We didn't finish ANY of these treats. The next day, having given up on Granny's, I threw away the biscuits and gravy but when I made dinner that night I threw caution to the wind and heated up the last remaining purchase: the cheddar/chive biscuit blobs (again, no idea what these are called). To my shock and amazement they were DELICIOUS!!! By far the best I've ever had!!! My BF agreed that they were very nearly life changing little morsels of joy and happiness!! It is for this reason alone that I gave the second star. I may go back to Granny's for the cheddar blobs, but sadly that will be all. read more

Idaho born and raised, but live in Washington and visit friends and family often. No longer know all the places that exist. Was headed to a dinner party and Yelped bakery (thinking is just stop at the grocery store)... Granny C's popped up and what a pleasant find! It was 12 minutes until closing, but the two gals were so at the ready, helped me pick some treats, and threw in a birthday treat for the little one half asleep in my arms. Oh my yum. From the friendly conversations to the delicious sweet treats, I really just cannot get enough! Through Facebook I discovered them and saw that they made cupcakes, so of course I had to go. When I walked in I couldn't believe my eyes. Granny rolls and cinnamon rolls, cheesecakes, gourmet cupcakes, cream pies, fruit pies, lemon bars, croissants, danishes, brownies, and so much more. All made daily. Where have you guys been all of my life? My goal is to try everything at least once. However, I can't keep away from the brownies. Even when I go in for just a croissant, I end up leaving with both my croissant and brownie. But really, everything that I have tried so far has been delicious. Obviously I will always recommend the brownies (go for the cream cheese), but the danishes that are available on the weekends are so good. Add a cup of coffee and you are guaranteed to have a great day. I had never had a lemon bar until I tried theirs and oh boy I've been missing out. And the cinnamon rolls? Don't get me started...they quickly became a new family favorite. Truly everything I have had has only left me wanting more...so much more. Chocolate cream pie was silky and creamy when we ate it on Sunday and had bought it on Sat. cinnamon roll --with raspberry and cream cheese was a great twist on a classic. Our first visit. Very friendly folks. The pastries are attractively displayed. The room is small but clean and light. I had two cinnamon rolls - the old fashioned variety and the smaller roll that has a sweeter dough and is topped with a cream cheese frosting. The old fashioned is very good. The sweeter dough is amazing. My wife got a carrot cake muffin. It was good, but lacking in carrot flavor, not offering any distinct flavor, actually. We shared bites of all three items and we almost had to arm wrestle to see who got to finish that smaller, amazing cinnamon roll. We will be back to try other pastries there for sure.
