We were craving gyros and drove over to what used to be Gyro Shack on Emerald. I had almost suggested going to a different location because I didn't want to deal with the traffic, but we ended up on Emerald anyway. Lo and behold... Gyro Shack was gone. So there we are, hungry, staring at the building. "Well... should we try Kabob House?" Eh, what the heck. OMG. BEST. HAPPY. ACCIDENT. We went in around 1:00 on a Saturday, and I'll be honest... it was empty, which made me a little nervous. But everyone was so welcoming, and it smelled AMAZING in there, so we figured we'd give it a shot. Best decision. We started with the lentil soup, and I am not exaggerating when I say I would come back just for the soup. It's that good. Warm, comforting, healthy, full of flavor... just soul food. Do not skip it. We also ordered the salad, which was super fresh with an amazing dressing on the side, and shared the lamb kabobs. The portion was huge, the lamb was delicious, and can we talk about the rice for a second? I don't know what they put in it, but I could have eaten a bowl of just the rice.
