I was here in June 2022 for breakfast and dinner. I thought the food was tasty and really good value. I couldn't believe how inexpensive it was compared to California prices. I think my breakfast was either the blue plate or senior special and out the door the price was well under $10. Compare that to California where $10 won't even get you a burrito! The dinner was a buffet and they were having a throwback to their grand opening price, which made it a fantastic price! For a small local restaurant they had a good selection of food too. Food was excellent and great low prices. Plenty of off street parking too. Besides visiting family, Granny Clark's gives me another reason to visit Dublin. Wish I lived closer! read more

I'm not entirely sure what the buzz is around this place. Nothing but great reviews, was packed when we got there, to be disappointed. They are pretty much a buffet style restaurant, with minimal items on the regular menu. The people were so nice. But the eggs were clearly like a boil in the bag product or something-similar to free breakfast at a hotel. The sausage was very processed put together and easily fell apart, bacon was fine-hard to not have good pork bacon. The biscuit was very very good and the gravy was good. The coffee was watery and not very strong. I will also based on an observation, the people behind us ordered before we got there. They ordered a breakfast taco and an omlette and did not get their food until after we paid which was 30-45 minutes after us being there. I wish this establishment nothing but the best and the wonderful people running it this is my raw truth filled opinion from the experience that I had. read more

We went for lunch on Tuesday before Thanksgiving. They had Turkey and dressing and all the fixings along with dessert and a drink. You can buy the blue plate which includes 1 meat with 3 sides with dessert and drink or you can get the buffet. The food was delicious and the server was even better. Stopped here during a 9hr road trip. Typically I avoid buffet restaurants but this is a MUST STOP. There's a high turnover so all of the food is really fresh, hot and home cooked! We were able to finally get out of the car, walk in and immediately make a plate and be out of the restaurant within 20min with a happy and full belly. Can't ask for anything better when you don't want fast food during a road trip. read more

We have stopped at Granny Clark's many times during our travels between Waco and Lubbock where our kids attended Tech. The food is so much comfort food and is just amazing! They have the best chicken strips! I don't usually even care about chicken strips but I crave them! This Christmas they went above and beyond helping me when I left my purse in my booth. I didn't realize it until we got to Lubbock!!! Granny Clark's saved the day and got me my purse so fast! The thank yous and appreciation just doesn't feel like enough! Not a lot of choices we found in Dublin Texas but who needs choice when Granny Clark's is open. It is a buffet but plates are available. Buffet was around 11 buck and was hot fresh and delicious at 1:45. One thing I noticed was the employees on break were eating off the buffet- that is a good sign. 5 stars. read more

We went to Granny Clark's last Saturday. I am usually not a buffet person but I had heard this place had really good food. The salad bar was very fresh and had a nice selection. On the buffet, I had a chicken strip and chicken fried steak. Both were very good. The chicken fried steak was tender and the gravy was hot and had creamy consistency. I had the grilled vegetables and they were cooked perfectly. Mashed potatoes good too. I had the cherry cobbler. It was delicious. They also had an apple cobbler. I will be back. read more

Okay so...in Texas a lot of restaurants "claim" to have the best Chicken Fried Steaks! Well today we happened upon Granny's on our drive home from a weekend getaway and let me tell you Granny's has the BEST Chicken Fried Steak I have EVER had in the 30 years I have lived in Texas. They had a lunch buffet and I will tell you EVERYTHING on the buffet was AMAZING. If you are ever driving through DUBLIN, TX- this is a must stop! The staff was so friendly as well. We made a day trip to Dublin with the kids last Saturday, and popped in here for lunch. From reading other reviews I knew they had a lunch buffet that was purported to be pretty good, so I already knew what I was ordering. The kids' pricing for the buffet was about the same as the items on the kids' menu, so it was a pretty easy choice to order the buffet for them as well, so they they could have a little of whatever they wanted. I get the impression that the makeup of the buffet items changes daily, though that's just a guess. Note: My wife generally HATES buffets, and usually refuses to eat from them. Even though this place had a regular menu, when the wifey looked over the buffet, she quickly opted for it - if you knew my wife, you'd know that says something. The items that stood out to me: Chicken tenders = best I've ever had. Home fries = best I've ever had. Banana pudding = best I've ever had. They also had corn on the cob on the buffet, and it was very good, which surprised me. Most restaurants ridiculously overcook corn on the cob, but this was cooked perfectly. I didn't try the mac-and-cheese, but the wife and kid all thought it was fantastic. Wife loved the salad bar. Anyhow, you get the gist - everything we had was either good, or great. Aesthetically, this place is no-frills; it's friendly, hard-working people putting out very good, fresh, made in-house comfort food, with no pretense whatsoever. Just a really enjoyable place all-around. When I was telling one of the ladies there how much we enjoyed it, she smiled and said we should come back for dinner; apparently they have $12.99 all-you-can-eat steak and boiled shrimp starting at 5PM every Saturday. I'm sure our next trip to Dublin will be on a Saturday, and will include a trip to Granny Clark's for dinner. :) BTW, the booths were not in disrepair at all, so presumably they've been replaced (referring to some of the other reviews on here). read more

I was torn about giving four stars or five. I'm feeling generous. It was a wet, nasty afternoon and I was starving. On my way to a business meeting I saw that Granny Clark's was packed with cars at 1 pm. I figured that must indicate that Granny Clark's is a good place to eat. 1. Clean Bathroom and those aren't easy to find open to the public in Dublin. 2. The booths have duct tape on all the cracked seats but there were construction guys building a well-crafted new cash register area complete with lights to illuminate what I think will be future t-shirt selling area. I bet in time, they fix up the booths too. 3.FOOD: The Patty Melt was obviously fresh and just perfect. The french fries were I think very slightly battered. I french fries were just plain awesome and they give you a lot of them. I ate every single one. 4. Dr. Pepper - real sugar Dr. Pepper, FOUNTAIN. I had Dublin Dr. Pepper once in a glass bottle and I thought it was like cough syrup. Maye it was old. but Dublin Dr. Pepper from a fountain, fresh, with amazing fries and a freshly made patty melt. *swoon* It may very well be the best soda experience of my entire life. It may not be aesthetically beautiful and it may need some new seats in the booths,but the food, the fountain Dr. Pepper and the friendly staff who gave me change to get the Stephenville newspaper all adds up to five stars. read more

Well, this place is weird, if you order the buffet you will get fresh fried okra, but if you order something off the menu, you will get frozen okra, now how stupid is that! Oh, and a lot of the stuff on the menu is frozen, and I am sure if granny Clark new that she wouldn't be happy at all!
