This place is wonderful the food is super good staff is cool aswell I come here at least twice a week after work and order a burger

We come to the Deming location often enough, on my way home from work. Tried calling my order in 6 times on the way home. phone went to voicemail each time. No biggie, probably busy. Got here to order to go, restaurant is completely empty with one car in the drive thru. Apparently just not answering the phone. It is 20 minutes before closing, not 5, and I have been calling since 6:05. Another person came in after me and server was pretty upset he came in. Didn't even finish the transaction before they started mopping again, complaining about how tired they are and how horrible their day was. Not quite sure how it was my fault their day was upsetting, but definitely got the stink eye. Edit: just got home. All my double cheese burgers are singles. We are done here. read more

Pretty bad, but not the worst. Nothing special. My better half and I decided to stop by on our way downtown. We'd never been here before and are both unlikely to stop by again for burgers. I ordered a cheeseburger with meat alternative patty, he ordered a double meat/double cheese burger. Presentation is terrible. It appears that the burgers were smashed while cooking; resulted in very unattractive appearance. But I can get past that...it was the undercooked meat alternative that got me; warm but very underdone. On a Saturday night, Grant's was staffed by some young folks that don't appear to have knowledge of food preparation. I'll be optimistic and assume this is abnormal. read more

I don't get how this place is staying in business. Rude workers, argumentative managers who don't know what is on the actual menu and hours that aren't adhered to. I get everyone uses the covid excuse for bad service but honestly I'm over it. This restaurant replaced a really great one that out community misses. I would love to give my business to a local business doing their best but Grants is not. I ordered a large hot fudge sundae, the cashier made me one and when she handed it to me it was a small. She ended up getting the manager after I let her know I'd ordered a large many times and that wasn't a large. The manager blamed the employees for selling me a large in error since they don't have two sizes. We'll take a look at the menu, clearly small and large. It's been annoying every time I've gone so just going to stop torturing myself. Looking forward to whatever restaurant replaces this one when it goes under. read more

I haven't been to Grants in Ferndale. But was very happy to see it in Bellingham. I decided to go this evening. It was packed. I'm glad they are getting lots of customers. The people working there were so friendly. The burger tho was less than what I was hoping for. It was luke warm and the fries as well. Someone on yelp said the burgers were anemic and I have to agree. No color. I don't like to have a bunch of "stuff" on my burger so it can't hide behind cheese, bacon and such. I will give them another chance but will wait until they are here a few more weeks. read more

I remember when Grant's was a drive-in here in Ferndale. There wasn't much to choose from back then so a burger and fries at the drive-in was a treat. Well the drive-in days are over and this place serves the most anemic burger I've ever had. Small and flavorless. Topped with lettuce and mayo. Not a fan. Also not a fan of frozen crinkle fries but that's what they offer here. The price is right though. Cheap. read more

I've been to both this Grants and the Lynden location several times. I am really suprised by all the bad reviews. I have never had bad service and I think the burgers are great. They put this yummy sauce on the burgers that is the closest thing to the sauce they put on the burgerville burgers I use to love growing up in Vancouver, WA. I like to get the sauce on the side and dip my fries in it, so good! They have really great milkshakes too. You can get delicious Fish and Chips on Fridays. read more

Solid 3.5 if you're in for a quick, casual meal. Finally dropped by, and kinda glad I did to get it out of the way. It's similar to the Net, a drive-in, take out style with a few round patio tables but really small joint, just a few workers inside and an easy menu, less than 10 items including milkshakes lol. Ordered the Double Double with cheese deluxe, and threw in the extra grilled onions because I'm greedy. this is the only complaint, didn't give much, nor did it mix well with the pickles inside, just a bit too overpowering. But it did come up with their nice in-house made sauce, and the patties, well, you know for $4.25, it's better than Mcdonald's lol. Chocolate milkshake was good, not great. read more

Whew! Talk about a tasty treat. This place is what it is- a wayyy better version of McDonalds or any takeout burger joint around. Not the best burgers ever, but that sauce hits the spot, they have great fries, and I love their chocolate shakes. Ordered over $60 of food for a group of workers I had. When I returned from the restaurant and opened the bag I discovered the cook had just stuffed as many burgers they could into the bag. Each burger was just a mushy ball. Disgusting! Too much money for the garbage they serve! read more

I'm beginning to think the Bellingham area is experiencing a burger Renaissance. So many good burger places to choose from. Grant's is high on our list. My wife and I make a lunch out of 2 Grant's cheeseburgers and an order of fries at least once a week, mostly because my wife won't let me go there 2 days in a row. $5.10 out the door. The sauce on the burgers is tasty as can be, the buns are fresh. Wonderful value. Why go to the Golden Arches? The location could be better. When I like a restaurant in a bad location I always worry it will fizzle before its time. They have a decent patio area, and about 5 tables inside. read more

I don't know what these few naysayers are talking about?? I love my double-double with onions. My only regret is that I can't get there more often (and the obvious side effects of a diet of burgers while trying to remain a normal weight.). I'm originally from the east coast where mom and pop places reign supreme. I came to the left coast and was inundated with boring, bland crap food that didn't have any personality from place to place. Grant's has that mom and pop atmosphere and a flavor you won't find anywhere else. Give 'em a shot and don't listen to these other folks. They are the reason there is a Jack-in-the-Box on every corner around here. read more

Very disappointed in the food delivered from this hamburger place. Friends recommended it, I checked the prices and photos of the food on their website, but when I ordered, the burger looked nothing like the photos on their website. I arrived around noon, the service girl was nice and helpful and offered to deliver my burger to my table. I waited about 4 minutes and another girl brought my deluxe burger with cheese, lettuce and tomato. The burger looked like it was sat on, as it was smashed, thin piece of meat, a tomato that was so thinly sliced, it barely was recognizable, lettuce was shredded, and some kind of sweet sauce. It looked nothing like their website photos and I felt like I was deceived. For $4.00, it was way over priced for the amount of food delivered. I will never go back as the burger was a big disappointment. read more

Just okay. Very highly priced but not worth the extra money. Dairy Queen and Jack In The Box are much better and cost less. Don't get me wrong, they are local and they have very nice employees. But, since they exist to feed you - they are falling a little short of what they could be. It's a bummer that it wasn't better. Great food! I am very surprised by the low rating which I feel is not a fair representation of this establishment. I am not sure the story of why Grant's moved to their current location from their historic location where the Sonic restaurant now resides. But I feel this restaurant has beautifully adapted to their new location. It is a very cute spot with homey indoor or fun outdoor seating. I love the outdoor ordering location and I am sure ice cream in the summer would make for a great family outing in its new tucked away corner. Grant's is a place that holds on to a piece of traditional historic Ferndale. With all the changes happening in this once smaller farm town, Grant's has become almost something sacred. One of the few bastions of what Ferndale is and what Ferndale, with what it is too quickly turning into, was. With the historic 1950's Ferndale high school class photos on the walls to the 1960's era pictures of the previous Grant's locations it is almost something of a museum. A piece of Ferndale history to be cherished. I have to say I have had my fair share of burgers and chicken sandwiches and those offered by Grant's are (I was surprised) one of the best I've had. The toasted bun was also a nice surprise! Also the black berry shake was delicious! Please do not let the (currently low rating) dissuade you from selecting to eat here. I've been to Grants back when it was a drive-in. I thought it was unimpressive and overpriced. But I was happily surprised at the reincarnation when I tasted a burger that I thought I'd never taste again. This is no gourmet burger but it is as true to its roots as any I've tasted. Good old fashioned grill burgers - cooked when ordered!! I am a lifetime Ferndale resident, raised with Grant's Drive In all the way back to when the name was Jack's Drive In, I missed the place when Russ & Linda Grant retired. Now their daughter Kim has provided us with a little burger place serving a taste of the past! I am thrilled that she is keeping her family's tradition alive, and love seeing her mom occasionally manning the grill. The menu consists of the basic burgers, monthly specials bring back old favorites. For those who appreciate food that is actually cooked instead of processed this is a great place, with prices slightly higher than chain restaurants, but still reasonable. read more

Because Grants was advertising a $3.00 Hamburger we thought we would 'try' it. We did and when I opened up the bun to see what was inside I got a shock! Very thin commercial patty of cheap beef covered with mustard and ketchup slop. No lettuce, no tomato, no onion. One slice of pickle. We have had a lot of disgusting hamburgers in our time, but this one took the cake. It was the worst so called hamburger that we have ever had and it was absolutely inedible. The hours aren't very good; me and my wife went out for a walk and went there for food on the way back but they were closed at 7pm. No signs to indicating they were closed. Walked up to the window and stood for like two minutes before they told they were closed. read more
