Grape Juice sure has moved up quickly! When they originally opened in Ingram it was just a little wine shop with a sort of lackadaisical "if we're here - come on in, if were not - come back later" mindset. Then they opened up a wine bar upstairs and expanded their selection of wines and bottled micro-brews. In 2009 they opened in their current location on Water St. in downtown Kerrville as a full-fledged restaurant serving lunch and dinner and the best Saturday brunch in town! Live music on the patio is always a plus - check their website for details. Don't forget they are closed Sunday and Monday. The service is impeccable every time. They are all very knowledgeable about their menu so don't hesitate to ask your questions. The ambiance is fabulous and arguably the most comfortable, welcoming and clean establishment in town. This place is a hit or miss. The last 2 times I've been here were HORRIBLE! The food was cold, undercooked, and service was not good. They change their menu every month, which is great diversity but sucks if you find something you really like. I gave it a 2 star because when it is good, it's really good. For some reason, half way decent restaurants in Kerrville tend to be snobby and pricey, this place is no exception. Hopefully they improve. read more

I spotted this place on our way to the mall (Belk), and it was a great "spot." While Kerrville is a sleepy, little, hill country town that I visited as a young girl, for the summer, this place is indicative of the town. It's a great, little jewel that seemed to be a cross between a tea house and a funky, local wine or beer shop. The art of on the walls is intriguing, the bar seating is open and/or quaint (those are the choices), and the atmosphere is friendly yet cool. I was a bit unsure of visiting, but after viewing pics and reviews on Yelp, my Mother and I were game! The food takes just a bit of time, but ours was well worth it. We decided to share the mini sliders, a salad, some chili, and some sangria. The sangria was a bit sweet but just what was needed. Although there are 3 types of sliders, the meal that has 3 sliders only allows for the selection of 1 type of slider rather than indulging in all 3...The chili was a bit different: quite substantial and chunky. I made a few variations on the salad, which turned out great. It is clear that this is a local gem. Three friends at different times advised us to try this place. We decided to pop in for lunch and OMG - It was fabulous. We were told to not skip the soup, whatever soup is offered will be great and it was a fact. The Spinach Soup was amazing. Our appetizer was Brussels Sprouts and we both wanted to lick the bowl when they were gone. I don't know what they do to those sprouts, but seriously, check them out. My husband at the brisket sandwich which he enjoyed and I had the Chicken Salad which was good, and huge, I ended up taking more than half of it home. Nice ambiance, not so fancy that we felt out of place in our flip flops. read more

Food: Holy Brussels sprout goodness! Y'all I have cravings for these suckers! I live 75 miles away so whenever I drive through I make sure to pick some up. I've also had a salad and honey chicken sandwich both delicious. Haven't tried anything else. Atmosphere: it's a cool little chill place, not very big and not a ton of tables so call ahead if it's a busy time or you have a group. But i like the ambiance and you can just hang out and drink some wine. Staff: so far everyone I've had has been very friendly and helpful. The owner- I guess that's who it was or maybe manager) has got on the servers in front of customers and it happened in front of me twice so that was kind of awkward but It happens. Price: reasonable. The service can be a little slow during their peak times, but the food is excellent and well worth the wait. What a cute place to stumble upon. Upon arrival their service was so quick. Tons of not just wine choices but unique beers on tap. The bartender let me know all about the dinner specials and directed me exactly where to find them. Once I ordered the food was quick to come out. I ordered the grill cheese which wasn't like a normal grilled cheese. They actually added a hint of blue cheese which gave it so much more flavor. I ordered a side Cesar salad which was delicious and had bacon. Was just a quick stop for me to kill time before class but will definitely be back when I have more time. read more

I've been coming to GJ since they opened in Ingram (give or take). My dad and I would spend hours there with Pat and Blake, much to my mom's chagrin (ha-ha). I've watched as Pat and Keri have expanded the Grape Juice moniker from a wine shop name to a lifestyle. I love the Water Street location; it's easy to get to, and fun to be in the middle of everything. This is hands-down the best place to eat or grab a drink in the TX Hill Country - not just Kerrville. Such a shame this place has by far the worst service I've had the unpleasure of experiencing twice in my life. Great food but these servers have no idea what they are doing to an embarrassing level to the industry. It's sad and bad for their business. 1st experience, awful service from the start sat there for about 10 minutes, no one came up and asked if we wanted waters so after a bit longer a waiter comes up with no class and goes on a flamboyant tangent that "Grape Juice" is not Chili's and unbeknownst puts in an order for us we didn't ask for. So through out the poor service I had to get my own water twice from the counter. Experience 2 the following week. It was my friends birthday and I made sure we didn't have the same waiter. Party of 8 and empty waters and cocktails around the table. Other than the poor service the worst part of the poor service was when the waiter/bartender service person sat a drink he was bringing to our table on the service trey next to the kitchen and was gone for 7 minutes and re-emerges to bring a lady at our table her warmer than needed to be drink. Management if you read this, start over you have failed your community and patrons. Clean house! read more

If you live in the Kerrville area or are just traveling through, do yourself a favor and eat at Grape Juice. The name is clearly intended to alert you to their wines (plentiful, local and some really good surprises) but they have surprisingly GOOD FOOD! From the venison burritos to the sliders to the pork tacos there was not a single bad choice among the 7 adults in our party. Top it off with a refreshing selection of beers on tap and really great service and this is a restaurant trifecta! Well done Grape Juice. Ps-if you are someone who is above average height and girth (like me) you will find the chairs and tables a bit small and it reminded me of tea party setups with my daughters but it was well worth it! read more

I'm rounding up to four stars with the caveat that there's not a lot of great dining in Kerrville and this restaurant offers something unique. I would probably not return in a larger city, but will indeed be back next time I'm in Kerrville. It took a long time to be seated and the service was a little slow throughout the meal, but the staff was friendly. I was concerned however after we ordered when the waitress came over and said ticket times were taking longer than usual, but she wasn't able to tell us if that meant 10 minutes or 30. I was also disappointed that the menu says "we cook everything fresh to order" but when I asked for the "crackaroni" and cheese without the ham I was told it's prepared in the morning and already mixed in. The brussel sprouts were very good, but a little too heavy on the soy sauce. The tomato basil soup was nice and my husband enjoyed his "crackaroni." The location is very charming and offers indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a nice selection of wine and craft beer. read more

A culinary oasis in Kerrville. I was begrudgingly dragged here by some wine loving friends during a visit to Fredricksburg. "Great." I thought, "Another overpriced wine bar with crappy food and small portions." We walk in and I'm immediately struck by the "buy a drink" board, their method of paying it forward to other patrons. "That's an odd thing for a wine bar to have." And then I saw the taps. Glorious, glorious taps. Roughly 20 different beers, a beautiful proliferation of microbrews and local offerings. The decor is unpretentious, couches abound and several of the tables are sectioned off by thin sheets. The staff is likewise helpful and earnest, our server was vocal in steering us towards the best the menu had to offer, which I love. Too often the waitstaff is trained to robotically pronounce that every item on the menu is grand. Surprisingly, just about everything on the menu is pretty good though! Though they bill their menu as consisting of "simple food", it was very well executed. They hype their brussel sprouts, and with good reason, they can stand toe-to-toe with Uchiko's offering. Our group also plowed through some hummus and flatbread, their hummus was rich and creamy, definitely good, but paled in comparison to the brussels. If there was any letdown on the menu, it was the kicken honey chicken sandwich; no "kick" and barely any honey...at $13, I could have had 6 superior chic-fil-a sandwiches. My wife had the soup of the day, which I eyed enviously the entire meal. The crackeroni is also as good as advertised...if they're boasting about it on the menu, it's legit. In today's world of "alternative facts" and heavily biased news, it's nice to know there are still a few sources you can trust; Grape Juice's menu is one of them. read more
