The Game Changer cheesesteak is clearly the centerpiece of the menu, combining Beyond Meat with vegan cheese in a monstrous, meaty sandwich. I have to say that the addition of ketchup was a bit odd, and could have been better either substituted with marinara or omitted, but I still polished off my half of this beast all the same. The mushroom pizza pockets were faultless, if you're in more of a snacking mood. Just ask to swap the ricotta with vegan cheese and you'll be treated to umami shrooms sauteed with a touch of balsamic, wrapped in golden dough, and generously portioned at that. I feel like this place has happy hour every day of the week including weekends and sometimes after happy hour times and sometimes all day lol. The HH pizza is a steal. I have not eaten here since 2021 when it was still at the gas station. I moved out of Austin because I wanted to buy property and Austin is unaffordable. It's now located in the old Gordough's location. Not surprised they closed down, honestly. Maybe ignoring their customers wasn't the best way to stay in business. See my review for them. This is also the old south Austin Good Eats location. Remember them? The best chicken fried steak. Anyway, their pizza is still pretty good. I do have a couple of minor complaints. The pizza is rolled out so thin, that it does not support the weight of the toppings. If you get a red sauce, you're going to have a soggy crust when you finally get the pizza home. Still nice and chewy, so that's good. I also bought some pizza rolls. I didn't realize that the Americana had Italian sausage in them because I did not read the description closely enough. BTW, the Americana contains Italian sausage? Think about that for a minute. They were nice and spicy. The side of red sauce wasn't enough. Also, it's gotten really expensive. $20 for the pizza. Another nine dollars for the pizza rolls, and since I ordered online I got charged a $2.50 convenience fee. That's not on the restaurant; I understand. I just wish that the platform had told me I was being charged a convenience fee. I would have placed a phone order otherwise. BTW, if you order online through yelp, you get charged $19 and change for the pizza. If you order through DoorDash, it's $20.80. I also had problems getting to their website. I was looking for a new Philly Cheesesteak place and I found it. We were immediately greeted upon entering the restaurant. Brandon went over the menu with us and got us really excited to try the food. We were not disappointed we both got the Philly Special and I added sweet peppers. They have picnic tables outside with some nice trees for shade or indoor seating. We ordered a couple of pizzas, and the balsamic mushroom pockets. We really enjoyed the Buffalo Chicken Ranch pizza (it had the right amount of 'heat') and thought the Sweet Heat pizza was good, but probably wouldn't order it again. Luckily, there are plenty more varieties for us to try the next time. Service was a little slow and our server admitted that part of our order hadn't been seen for some reason, but she was nice about trying to resolve it and luckily we weren't on a time crunch. Stopped in here during SXSW when I was driving by and saw some live music outdoors in their front. The inside was a little in need of a little upkeep. For example, none of the regular low top tables that were available were even and there were heaps of parmesan packets on the floor from people trying to even out the tables. It's been some time since I found a decent cheesesteak in Austin. I was recommended to try Gratas. I drove up and parked with signs for PHILLY fans only. Ok now we are talking. I ordered my usual pizza steak with onions and hot peppers, sauce on top. Gratas is serious about their sandwiches by bringing in meat and bread dough from Philly. The steak was decent but not epic. I had two major issues. The bread is too soft. There is no crust to the bread and that chewy bread is a must for a great steak sandwich. Number two is Gratas mixes their add ons into the steak. A great sandwich has the meat and cheese mixed or melted as the base. The onions, peppers, sauce and anything else is an add to the top item. Never mixed in. My sandwich was a mix of everything. It killed the base taste of meat and cheese we Philadelphians enjoy. I hope they trial this method. I think it would improve the sandwich. The menu offers some great options for all classic pizzas, from red sauce to white sauce to green pesto. All of which are on what appears to be Neapolitan crusts, with great charred air pockets. Just the right amount. The Roma had the most flavor of the 3 pizzas I tried. Probably a vegetarian's favorite pizza but I do wish there was more red sauce. This place had been popping up on our social media feeds for a while, so we decided to give it a try for our Friday night pizza excursion. Sidenote - we have been twice so this review will capture both experiences. The first time we walked in, the bar staff and wait staff gave a hearty hello and gave us our choice of table and walked us through their menu. Even though Friday is pizza night, they almost convinced me to get a cheese steak! The drink prices for happy hour are solid and the pizza selection was great. We had the Sweet and Spicy pizza (red sauce, pepperoni, capicola, garlic confit, mazzarella, sweet bacon marmalade, and hot pepper relish), which was really tasty. You could taste every ingredient there and the dough was cooked to perfection for the most part. I am sure it was the weight of the toppings, but it was a little flimsy in the center. The Caprese Salad was pretty standard but fresh. Our second time around, we ordered the Galina Caprese (basil pesto base, roasted tomatoes, mozzarella, chicken, garlic confit, and parigiano reggiano) and it was super tasty! Their pesto base was definitely on point and the chicken was super flavorful. If anything, I might recommend smaller cuts of the chicken to help with the weight/balance. All in all, the pizzas had amazing flavor and the service was really good...until the end. I don't know what happened, but each time, there came a point where the waiter just forgot about us. The first time, our waiter handed us off to a trainee who almost dropped all of the cleared plates on us after we asked for water multiple times. And we had to ask for the check. The second time, we had been sitting there trying to flag our guy down because we would have ordered more drinks or even dessert. He was at every table but ours. Eventually, I went up to the bar to get our check and we left. We will go back but they seriously have to learn how to maintain service throughout the meal and to remember to bring the check. read more

This is place is just okay. DO NOT recommend ordering them from uber eats or door dash EVER. They've gotten my delivery order wrong every time and they don't refund it. In person the atmosphere in there is like a dive bar, dark, sticky tables, etc. To their credit have some decent sandwiches and a good selection of pizzas but it's not the best in Austin. They're big Philadelphia Eagles fans so if that's your team you'll feel at home there. They also often have a hockey game on and they have a decent outdoor patio space that's dog friendly. read more

The night we checked this place out it was so chill & quiet which was lovely! The staff was so welcoming & they were great about explaining the menu in regards to what was currently available or sold out. You can order straight from your phone which makes it super convenient, you can order on your time vs being pressured by someone. One of the beers I ordered had just sold out so the bartender came to our table & recommended something similar for me which was great! The food took a bit to come out but it was worth the wait for sure. The meatballs were fantastic but I would say there was TOO much bread that accompanied them. Pizza pockets were absolutely DIVINE! Diego was the gentleman who brought us menus and he provided us with information about sourcing of their ingredients and which items were the most popular. My friend is familiar with Grata's pizza from their last location, so I knew that we were in for something delicious. We shared the Hawaiian and an order of garlic knots. I am from the Northeast so I am absolutely picky and about what people down here call 'good' pizza. THIS is GREAT pizza. If you have not had it, you need to. Additionally, Taylor Swift's boyfriend was playing football on TV at the time, but the volume was not obnoxiously loud, and I was easily able to have a conversation with my friend, which I very much appreciated. Something as simple as a "sorry for the wait" could have happened any time during our one hour plus wait. But nothing until we finally got our food. And again the place was empty.
