I made haste when they announced they were considering closing shop. When I finally did visit, I was not disappointed. I chatted at length with the shop clerk, learned about their natural wine selection, even got to sample a crisp white wine, and explored everything that was part of their eclectic inventory. I came away with quite a few impulse buys, but I really enjoyed the experience! Looks like they're sticking around since they renewed their lease and even started up a new coffee shop/eatery in the same plaza. There were everything from groceries and fresh bread to eggs, jams, pickled foods, soaps, and more. I'd guess there were maybe 100-150 vendors total, with most of them set up outside. There was also a section inside the church with a few vendors selling ice cream, produce, and other perishables, and that area was air conditioned, which was very welcome since it was around 110 degrees outside. They also had restrooms available, which was convenient. I believe vendor hours are from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., but because of the summer heat, my friend and I only stayed from about 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. Overall, I loved the variety of Arizona-based products and services and thought it was a really enjoyable market to visit.

It was one of the scheduled stops on the garden map. I had no idea what a treat we were in for as we pulled up to what appeared to be an ordinary one-story quiet neighborhood house. Getting out of the car we realized that this was no ordinary front yard. Yes, it had a small wooden rail fence around it. But behind that fence there was no traditional landscaping, no hedges, no grass, no manicured flower beds. There were rows of beans and corn and tomatoes and peppers! As we walked through the carport to the back, we entered a delightful sun room filled with baskets of fresh produce - all freshly picked and, of course, for sale. (Yep, I bought a few small fresh green items to supplement my salad already in the refrigerator at home.) The back yard was more of a delight than the front. Raised beds. Veggies and flowers. And, yes, there was some grass . . . . but most of all it was a miniature oasis of a farm from my childhood. There were chickens and goats, who all seemed somewhat nonchalant about city dwellers stumbling through their little bit of heaven. My Farmyard is a delightful example of what you can do to "grow locally. produce organically. [&] eat well." One of the services they will help you with is planning your own raised bed garden in your yard. They will help you create a "Planting Plan." Oh, I didn't tell you the best part.
