For me, this spot is interesting. It has a fairly substantial list of different drink options that include smoothies, milk teas, fruit teas, and even some food options. While there are increasingly more options in the area, I do appreciate the varied menu they have available. Service is alright, the restaurant is minimally staffed but during my visit the customers came in sporadically so there was no line. The ambiance is the best part of this restaurant. It is very nicely decorated with plenty of sofas to sit in, games to play, and even has a hanging chair. This made it a great place to sit and chat for a while in a very enjoyable setting with some light music. While the drinks I tried were alright, not particularly amazing but not bad either -- the benefits of this spot for socializing will have me visiting here again after dining nearby. read more

Tried out this new bubble tea place this weekend and liked it. The interior is very cute, they have a pretty swinging chair and neons lights on a green wall for photos. I wasn't sure what other flavors would go best with rose for a milk tea combo, so I ended up getting rose, lychee, and vanilla and it tasted great. The flavor combination worked well together and still highlighted the rose flavor the most. I would like to come back again to try some of their pre-made combos. read more

I love the half and half option! Honestly, it may be intended for a couple to share but no!! It's for me!! For a person who can't decide between milk tea and a fruit flavor. I'll never go back to this establishment again. 1. I'm positive one of the girls working there blended something (not edible) in my drink. As the drink had some kind of paper or cardboard blended up in the drink and instantly hurt my stomach. 2. They have punch cards and only punch PER VISIT instead of PER DRINK like everyone else. Doesn't matter how much you spend. And when I asked the OWNER she lied and said she wasn't the owner and she blamed the LAST owner. How embarrassing. And lastly, when you tip with your card the OWNER keeps the tips. Knowing FULL WELL NO ONE PAYS WITH CASH ANYMORE!! (The employees only get to split the cash tips.) The menu in-store does not match pictures online so you can't really plan out what you want to order ahead of time and then many things are unavailable anyway which makes ordering very hard and confusing once you are there. We ordered 5 drinks but honestly should have just left once we got there and saw how uninteresting the real menu was and how misleading it was as well. Once we paid, we were notified that they actually did not have enough powder for two of the drinks. That too--the milk tea drinks are made with powder. Spacious cafe with WiFi, many tables, and a comfy couch. Maybe friend and I were there for several hours and they had a decent amount of people coming in and out, most people carry out though. Since I couldn't figure out which flavor to have I decided to get the shared cup so I could try 2 different flavors. I haven't seen the shared cup option at other bubble tea places in this area They also have a "Surprise Me" option. I love that they do offer a decent number of fresh fruit flavor options and not everything is powder. They also have a variety of boba options. One of my flavors was a house special moh-tea (passion fruit, peach, and coconut) with the mango boba and the other side I made myself. Jasmine green milk tea with pineapple and regular boba. I forgot to tell them how much sugar I wanted added. The moh- tea is all powder flavors, I recommend if you only get the powder flavors to ask for reduced sugar. My friend tried the honeydew mojito, which was delicious! And she also tried the Earl grey milk tea with coffee jelly. The Earl grey with the coffee jelly I would probably not recommend as a combo since both are very strong flavors on their own and kind of clashed. Spoiler alert: Their drinks look nothing like they do on their social media. I came in with my husband and MIL. We ordered three drinks. I got the blueberry strawberry that looked and tasted like water (also asked for almond milk and I am sure they gave me dairy milk). My husband got the Oreo which was liquid by the time he got it and my MIL tried the mango and said there was too much milk and it tasted like straight up syrup even though she asked for fresh fruit.I have decided to try the food and the chicken tasted like it was freezer burned. Bathroom is dirty and had no toilet paper. The lights in the cafe were overall blinding. The place its self smelled bad. How hard is it to clean? Tables were dirty and sticky so took our order to go. This place has been open for a few months now and it is really nice! The vibe is chill and love the wall decor of Chicago and the lights. There are so many options to choose from and the names are pretty neat/funny so it takes time. I tried the lychee berry with tapioca balls and it was really good. Tea is delicious. I've only tried a couple. Only complaint is that they open up late. & not enough people working when they first open doors. Same person making tea is same person checking you out. I don't know how this place slipped under our radar for so long, but we discovered it about a month after it opened. Despite our relatively recent first visit, we have been back so many times we already got a free drink from the punch card! This is a wonderful spot for bubble tea. The shop is not very big, but has a trendy, urban aesthetic. The service is helpful and friendly, and they have a nice assortment of flavors and add-ons on the menu. If your drink normally comes with dairy, you can substitute for coconut milk or something else, which is nice. Finally, the boba has a really good consistency. Sometimes when you order boba it has a discouraging "grainy" texture, but not here! It's just right. If you are a bubble tea fan, you will be pleased with GraviTea. read more

THE OWNER LITERALLY YELLED AT ME!!! I wanted a refund after getting a litchi bubble tea. My friend got a mango tea with tapioca the one in the pic attached. We both agreed that it was excessively sweet and that the green tea base left a very bitter after taste. also for an extra 50c the amount of tapioca was wayyy less than other boba places. I asked for a refund really nicely and the teen at the front desk called the owner. I was ok to talk to the owner to explain what happened. Thought it would be a decent conversation. The first thing I say when I talk to the owner is that "I am not trying to be a annoying customer but I really don't like my drink" She starts yelling at me like it being sweet is my opinion and I ordered it.... So somehow that's my fault? and that she can't give me my money back because "what if 10 people come back asking for their money back" lol like what? I told her there was barely any boba and she straight up said "I don't believe you" lol she talked over me the whole time and her tone was sooo rude. I was feeling so much anxiety. A complete random person yelling at me like that. She was forcing me to get another drink because I was not getting my money back!!!! To be clear, I do enjoy GraviTea and really want to give this place 4 stars, but there are a couple things that could be improved. Firstly, the regular sweetness level is too much, so I always get mine at half sweetness. Something like 75-80% level would be ideal but I ended up acquiring a taste for the 50% level. Secondly, the tapioca texture/chewiness has sometimes been a bit off. Most bubble tea places in the area put ice in their cups, but the default GraviTea order doesn't include any. I actually like this a lot since the drink is still cold enough for me when its served, and because I am actually getting 16 oz of bubble tea in my cup instead of say, 10 oz of tea and 6 oz of ice. read more

Not one of the better options in Schaumburg. I don't get to visit this part of the 'burbs too much anymore, so I thought it would be nice to have a closer bubble-tea specialty store. Thing is, even for just Schaumburg that's a large hill to climb, and GraviTea didn't get too far up. To be fair, I did order something a little unusual - black tea and lychee, with tapioca. I didn't understand they didn't blend all their drinks, as is typical, so I ended up with essentially black tea with tapioca floating in it. Weird, but I should've read the menu more carefully. I was expecting this combination to be a bit weird but it was oddly tasteless instead, some combination of powdered lychee and weak tea. That, I wasn't expecting, and it doesn't really make me want to come back. There's a few great places further north I'm all too happy to return to. read more

The menu board show a lot of options between tea and fruit smoothies, and the add-ins (boba, popping boba, jellies). It also shows which smoothies are made with fresh fruit vs the ones made with mixes or powders. My son opted for the banana (fresh fruit) smoothie and I opted for the watermelon/strawberry (fresh fruit) smoothie with mango jelly. We were the only customers on a very hot Saturday so our drinks came out to us fairly quickly. My drink tasted ok, but what I didn't like was that it wasn't just fruit. My guess is that it was made with some other dairy-like base...so it was more like a milkshake flavor vs an icy fruit smoothie like at Joy Yee's. The mango jelly was good and added a flavor burst. My son loved his banana shake (also seemed to be made with a dairy base). Both were ice cold and definitely refreshing on a hot day. I'd visit again if I was in the area, and maybe just for the tea.
