I took my Tahoe in because the passenger side mirror wouldn't tilt down when the truck was in reverse. They charged me $99 for a diagnostic fee, claiming it was fixed. However, before I left, I checked the mirror and found it still didn't work. The technician came out, tried the mirror several times, and confirmed that it was indeed broken. I explained to the counter guy that the issue started when we had the first snowfall, and I had wiped snow off the top of the casing, not the actual mirror. They used this as an excuse, claiming that it wasn't covered under my bumper-to-bumper warranty and that the technician needed to replace the mirror. I was charged $99 for nothing and lied about the repair. I will be taking this matter to court to recover my $99. read more

My partner and I came here during our car buying process. We called head to book a test drive. We were given the keys promptly when arriving and were allowed to test drive it alone along their recommended route. It was a nice change to be able to drive alone, rather than having a sales rep in the car with you. We are from out of state so it took much longer than expected to get an estimate for fees, but eventually we got there. Nothing seemed scummy or slimey like typical car dealerships. The numbers added up. There were no hidden fees or "after $1995 down" price. Also this place does not charge fees for paying off early. We were quoted between 3%-4% APR. The only thing keeping us from going through was the price of the car. It was increased significantly compared to other dealers. We asked if they would come down on the asking price, even by a few hundred, but there was no room for negotiation. We were not willing to pay that price so we walked. After an online search, I found that Gray Chevrolet was one of the dealers that had the vehicle that I was interested in. I checked out the vehicle and made the purchase. Everything was fine until I went back to pick up the vehicle. I asked for the keys and the salesperson gave me one key and said that I would have to stop back for the spare key because the department that had the spare was closed for the night. For two full weeks I have been trying everything possible to get the second key with several return visits, messages, and calls. Today Charlie Will, sales manager, told me that my only recourse was to pay them ($260) for a spare key and that they had no intention of helping me further. The spare key is absolutely essential for this vehicle: if anything happens to the one key that I have it would be cost prohibitive. As I understand, it is necessary to have a working key in order to make a replacement If I had known that I would need to pay for the vehicle and then pay them for the key BEFORE I made the purchase I would have been informed of their methods. But finding this to be the case AFTER making the purchase is BAD BUSINESS! Apparently customers are important until they sign the purchase agreement. read more

I made a 9:00 am service appointment, was really polite and friendly to the service advisor, and was told I would receive a call to give me the diagnosis and and estimate "in an hour or two." Never came, so I called back at 2 pm. Car not even brought inside yet, but they "took other cars first but will do it right now". At 4:30 pm I call again and they tell me they will look at it first thing the next morning. So I am spending another sleepless night wondering how much the used car I just bought is going to cost me in repairs that I cannot afford. Each time I was as relaxed and friendly as I could be, while the advisor just chuckled. Think about how I feel being told that others who arrived much later are being served before me, simply because I am the "nicest". Scam artists! We received a flyer in the mail with a contest and according to the results, we won a 70" 4k TV. My first reaction was this is a scam. So we called several times to confirm that we won the TV and they said yes every time. So, we took the 45 min drive to the dealership and we received a $50 gift card. 0vA nightmare!!! That aptly describes my experience with Gray Chevrolet. I was ripped off and it seems there's nothing I nor anyone else can do to stop them. I bought a 2013 Chevy Equinox from Gray in August 2016. I have a book of repair receipts from repairs I've had to do on that vehicle after it nearly killed me and my children twice! When I showed up there frightened from the experience, they were rude to me and told me to quiet. This is because they didn't want other customers hearing about their dirty deeds. After another accident last year and thousands of dollars later I'm still paying for the vehicle and paying for repairs because the vehicle had a steering issue that I informed Gray about they day I first drove off the lot with it! I was given a stinky vehicle that wreaked of cigarette smell. I had to pay for detailing. The sales person who I think is a gentleman was embarrassed that he took from his pocket to purchase a spray to help get rid of the smell and apologized profusely. Guess that's why he's no longer there! He cares too much. After the accident last year, Gray lied about the estimate to my insurance and collected my money and did not do the work they said they did. Almost a month later when I finally got back my vehicle - I was almost in an accident again just a few yards away. I took it back and they wanted me to pay them more money for them to work on it. I ended up taking it to another shop and they did the exact work Gray said that they did - my insurance paid for the work again and NEVER went back after Gray. I did not have use of my car for six months. Prior to that the left from wheel broke off while I was driving to New York - that was the problem I tried to get them to pay attention to. My car is sitting in the garage with issues again and I still have to keep making payments for a car I have next to no use of. Gray won't take it back. I find doing business in this state to be very treacherous! Authorities seem not to care to do anything about the many businesses especially rotten Gray Chevrolet who are ripping off people. Want to hear the best part? I paid down $7000 on an $18,000 vehicle. They financed the balance through Santander with an exorbitant interest rate. I'm so upset I can't recall. Gray Chevrolet is probably the worst car dealership I ever went to! I purchased a used Chevy Aveo a few years ago and I thought the used car manager was very snobby. He shouldn't be allowed to deal with the public. I wanted to know the best they can do with the price and told them I have cash on me to pay in full. The car was $5,600 and when they spoke to the used car manager he said give him no more than $25.00 off retail price and I thought that was an insult. I had the car several months and the front end broke down in the street. I brought it to my mechanic and they said the car should have never passed inspection. I went back to Gray Chevrolet and they agreed and said go back to who did the inspection and hold them legally liable. The kicker is, they did the inspection and were the last ones to pass it as a save car. I drive my grandchildren around and they could have been seriously injured or killed because of this. They wouldn't even offer to pay for my repair costs! ($1,000). In the few years I owned this car I paid over $5,000 in repairs. They should be shut down. Salesman Bobby Balmoos promised a competitive rate ( I have excellent credit) - but then wrote a loan at a high interest rate. Once I have a few, I go to those dealerships and see what the best cash price is that I can get. Gray was one of the dealerships that answered my inquiry, sending 5 emails to me in 24 hours. They clearly stated that they had the car in the color and features I wanted on their lot. So this afternoon I drove up there. I asked for the woman who had been communicating with me and was told that she wasn't a salesperson, just the one that sets up appointments. Whatever..I am directed to a salesperson, told him what I wanted that I was told they had it in stock. Needless to say, they did not have what I asked about.Total waste of my time driving up there. BEWARE OF DISHONEST TACTICS If I could give zero stars, I would. During a search for my daughter's first car, we found a 2014 Kia Soul listed by Gray Chevrolet - 27,000 miles. When I called to ask a price, we were told $8,600. Although we live an hour away, this was potentially a deal we could not pass up. I asked Ashley if there were any major issues with the car. A 3-year old car with very low mileage - an $8,600 price tag seemed very generous. They assured me that there was nothing wrong and price was confirmed at $8,600. My wife and my daughter made the one-hour trek to Gray Chevrolet with my daughter's savings in hand. When they arrived, my wife was told that there is disclaimer on the website that the price provided by phone includes "...$3,500 cash or trade down." If you are wondering, yes, that statement is in small font, buried between paragraphs, and at the end of the line. Additionally, this fact was not relayed or reiterated by Ashley on the phone call. Adding $3,500 to price given by phone would still be a good deal. Why do you feel the need to lie to potential customers? An obvious ploy to catch unknowing customers in a bait and switch. if I could give this auto shop a -10 I would. My son goes to college in East Stroudsburg but I live 2 hours away. His car broke down and I had it towed to a different mechanic first. After they finally acknowledged that they could not work on the vehicle without a special tool, I called Gray Chevy and spoke with Ron, the service manager to ask what the name of the tool was. He told me he didn't know and would need to diagnose the vehicle to figure out the issue. Since my sons car was a Chevy, I had the car towed to Gray because I thought they would be able to fix it. It was delivered on a Friday and I called ahead to let them know state Farm would be bringing it over. As of Monday I still had not heard anything back so I called and was told the mechanic that works on hybrids was out sick and possibly the car would be done by Tuesday. On Tuesday morning, my son called and said Ron called him to let him know the belt was the issue but he fixed it and I would be getting a call soon. Ron called me, acknowledged that the car was running and that the belt was the issue but did inquire on the check engine light to which I declined that service because it wasn't needing to be done. I was already being charged $472 for a what I was told was the diagnostic test, a belt, labor fees and taxes. He said no problem, car will be done around 2. My son showed up to get the car at 2, I paid over the phone because I was 2 hours away at my home and asked for an itemized receipt to which he said "I got you". I thought we had a good conversation I said thank you and I'd be using him again. On Thursday afternoon, I got a call from my husband and son saying that the belt that was supposedly fixed was broken. They sent me a picture and said they called Ron and Ron told them that he just put the same belt back on that came with the car and too bad he basically wasn't going to help even though he acknowledged he was the last person to touch the car. So I called, got a receptionist, told her the story and she agreed that wasn't cool and transferred me to the General Manager Eddie. He answered the phone with an attitude but I proceeded to tell him why I was calling and before I could really even explain, he says hold on I need to go find out what's going on. I sat on hold for 9 minutes just for him to come back and ask me what happened so he could argue with me. He kept saying my son and I brought the car in which was incorrect because I was two hours away and my son never saw them until he went in to pick up his car. State Farm took the car in. He then had the nerve to tell me a totally different story than what was given to my son and husband and claimed that they used a belt that was sent over from the other mechanic and to call them about the belt even though the other auto shop never did any work and was never paid for any services. I told him that i don't know any mechanic that would use someone else's material and told him what the Harrisburg Chevy dealer told me and he said well we are not the Harrisburg Chevy dealer to which I responded "clearly". He then tried to grasp at straws and make up things to avoid taking responsibility for the mechanic that either didn't do the work or that should be fixing what he claims he already fixed. The first excuse was "well you called to ask to borrow the tool" which makes zero sense because how would I get it being two hours away and what would I do with it???! Then he said "well Ron told you the check engine light was on and you declined because you didn't want to pay the extra" which doesn't matter because that was NEVER the cause for the broken belt. If it was an issue, the car would not have been able to be driven off their lot and Ron would have said it needed fixed in order for the car to run. instead, Ron said the code was showing some kind of vent replacement needed on the car. During our call, I told Eddie several times I had literally JUST had surgery and he continued to be unprofessional and disrespectful even telling me at one point not to raise my voice at him and "would you listen". The call ended with me finally losing my patience after I had attempted to just state facts and I called him an asshole and he hung up on me. East Stroudsburg is a very small little town and this is the only Chevy dealer there so my hands were tied with me not being present. I will pay to tow my car home before I ever use these people again. They are scammers and although I put my complete faith in them for the sake of my son, they ended up not being able to be trusted to do the right thing. read more

I being totally ignored by Gray Chevrolet. This is not professional I have been trying to contact the General manager Ed for the last few weeks regarding a repair done on my 2006 Chevy Aveo. My car was not repaired properly. The car does not run. We paid Gray Chevrolet about $768 however the car does not work. It is in my driveway & it will not start. On Feb. 27, 2020, the service team told me the problem was fixed and they even test drove it. I told the team to please be sure because this will very dangerous if it shuts off on my daughter on the highway again. They ensured me that the problem was fixed. I paid the service team $762. My daughter picked up the car on Feb 27, 2020, drove 2 miles up the road, the car shut off on Chipperfield. My daughter called my wife, my wife informed her to try to start the car again. The car started, therefore my daughter drove back to Gray Chevrolet. The car is currently there now. The car has been at Gray Chevrolet from Feb 14 to current. Ed after losing out on the $769. Took my Hummer in for "recall replacement" of wire harness to blower fan for heating unit. Blower fan ran, but only on lower speeds. Received vehicle back from service department, and was told it didn't fix problem, but they could diagnose problem for $150.00. Told them, No Thanks! Received vehicle back with it not having any heating or cooling at all, and only the knobs lighting up, when turning ac or heat on. Contacted G.M. headquarter in Michigan. Customer service rep. stated that I would have to pay the $150.00 diagnostic fee up front, to determine what the dealership's service department, did to my vehicle. Car was towed here due to a manufacturer known defect. The intake manifold exploded and caught fire and it was explained to Grays that its a possible insurance issue depending on damage. Grays took it upon themselves to contact the insurance company and GM and tell them that due to a bad gap in Spark plug that caused the detination however the plugs were still factory and never an issue. Fast forward grays disposed of items that were in the car on the front seat without asking, and then when car was picked up had several lights on and ran like crap. A week later they said wheel bearing and small maint issues and car was ready. Well the ABS light and Traction lights are still on and come to find out they must have cut the wire to the abs sensor and then instead of fixing taped it back. $2,000 later and this Stealership is never getting my business again! Bought a 2013 car from Gray Chevrolet 2 weeks ago. The very next day it took 3 tries to get it started. The next day at lunchtime it wouldn't start at all. I called the service department 3 times and left messages each time. The car was stranded at work an hour from my home. I also called the salesman and left a message for him. I never received a call back at all from any of them. My husband was able to help start the car and then spent 1/2 a day diagnosing it and fixing it.
