What a great tour! I admit this was not my choice in my group but I'm so glad that they said it was a must do, which is absolutely true! Tour guide gives great information on the way to Oak Alley Plantation and once you get there you have a tour and about an hour and a half to walk around and go to the restaurant if you want to. We did and it was good and also go to the gift shop they let you try some alcohol and some brittle. Which I ended up buying it was good. Oak Alley is a place they filmed part of "Interview with a Vampire," so cool, as well as "The Skeleton Key," "True Detective," (parts anyway), and "The Long Hot Summer." Take the time to get photos and videos from the front. So worth it. You get to view the slave quarters as well. Then you get to go on the Swamp Tour which was so funny because our tour guide was that hilarious! Shout out to Brandon! He should be an improv actor (I mean they do films out there), because when I asked if he was ever given a script for the tour his response was, "hell no." Haha! Has the face for tv/film as well for any agents or producers out there. Anyway, you see SO MANY alligators and get to hold a teeny tiny baby one which is so cute! Overall was a great day despite the rain!

We booked the Whitney Plantation + Swamp Boat tour via Groupon. Our tour guide Robert was a native New Orleanian who was able to answer every question about the city & gave us the detailed history while traveling to both locations. He has built relationships with the staff at both locations so that made our activities that much smoother. Our driver, Dominique, was a safe and friendly driver.

I did the plantation and gator tour with this company. We started out with the plantation and it was gorgeous, the tour guides there were awesome, the food at the restaurant at the plantation was great, and I felt more educated. Then, we went to the alligator swamp tour, which was very cool, just a little bit more crowded on the boat than I would've liked. The bad part is that our bus broke down on the way home and the AC failed. As a result, we sat in a crazy hot bus on the side of the freeway for about an hour waiting for a new bus. This, however, seemed to be out of our tour guide's hands, which is the reason there isn't a lower rating.

I booked w/ Grayline on Travelocity for our trip to NOLA. We went on the big boat swamp tour (not a fan boat). We went through a lot of paper to make it on to the boat; it was silly. We took our printed online voucher to a ticket stand in the french quarter. They gave us two paper tickets per person. We used one ticket to get on a charter bus. The bus took us to the launch point of the tour where we exchanged our 2nd ticket for a wrist band to get on to the boat. Can't you find a more efficient system than this? The charter bus had very narrow seats. My husband and I are no longer thin like we used to be, and it was uncomfortable for us to sit together, but there wasn't room for us to sit in separate rows because there were other people on the bus. The bus also had a leak in the cooling system and kept dripping on my arm the whole way there. When I booked online, there were lots of pictures of people holding small alligators, and I thought this was going to be included with our tour. It was not. There is a gift shop once you get to the boat launch that was cute. Inside was an albino alligator in a pool (but the pool was depressingly small). They did take fun photos before getting on the boat in front of a green screen (additional cost to take printed photos home---thing disney roller coaster rides). Once we finally made it on to the boat, it was heavenly! We had amazing views. We were visiting in March, and the weather was perfect. We were able to see several gators and a blue heron. Our boat captain was a cool cajun and had interesting local facts (some more dubious than others). I'm glad that I didn't go on a fan boat because one went by us. It was really fast and very LOUD. It definitely would have triggered a headache for me. The big boat was perfect. We were able to move slowly through the swamp and see cool stuff.

During our New Orleans trip, we booked the evening Riverboat Jazz Cruise (about $50/person through Orbitz). While I enjoyed the 2-2.5 hr cruise, I kind of wished that there was more information given regarding the history of New Orleans and the Mississippi R. Yes, someone gave a 5-10 minute speech about what we were going to see during the tour, but I would have liked to learn more. Perhaps, having QR codes, posted in various areas of the boat, linking to prerecorded audio discussing New Orleans history could accomplish this without sacrificing the jazz band. Perhaps, I'm asking for too much. While I'm not a huge fan of jazz, I thought the band was pretty good, and the band definitely had me tapping my foot during various parts of the trip. Overall, I thought the boat was in pretty decent shape and the crew was pretty nice (especially the two ladies working the bar on the second level). While we enjoyed the night cruise, I think that I would have enjoyed a daytime cruise instead.

Gray line was a great tour company. The shuttle bus to the swamp tour location was great. He was super informative about where the best Mardi Gras parade spots were. The swamp tour guide was funny and very informative.

We booked our plantation tour with Gray line tours and it was awesome. Our tour guide was Alton. I highly recommend him because he's phenomenal and was a great historian up and back. We learned all about Louisiana and it's rich history and culture. He was also very careful to make sure that none of us wandered off and got left behind. We used Gray Line Tours in February 2020 just before the pandemic hit to visit the Whitney Plantation for a bachelorette party. Booking was easy online and when I picked up the tickets at will call and showed them my AAA card, I received the discount as a refund back on my card. Kindrell was our bus driver and tour guide and I remember him being very funny and loved his anecdotes and ramblings about the giant mosquitoes Louisiana gets and alligator facts. We chose the Whitney Plantation because the reviews were the best. We drove by a few other plantations before arriving at Whitney. We got dropped off before Oak Alley but when we were picked up, we drove to Oak Alley to pick up the passengers that went there. Oak Alley was definitely prettier than Whitney because of the giant oak trees that line the walkway, but Kindrell said we got the better tour at Whitney. If you want Instagram worthy pictures, you might want to visit Oak Alley. On the drive back, we basically all fell asleep. When we got back into the city and neared the drop off destination, he told us about the Hard Rock Hotel collapse in October 2019 and how there were still three bodies of construction workers that they haven't been able to recover. Since then, the three bodies have been recovered and the building has been demolished. Crazy how it took almost a year to recover the bodies and start demolition!

We arrived about 15-20 minutes before we due to arrive. There was a little sitting area and at 10:45 we went to the bus that was leaving for the swamp tour. We thought the bus leaves at 10:45 but it didn't not leave until well after 11. We made the mistake of sitting underneath the air conditioning and we're quite cold. The bus driver was great with his information. When we arrived at airboat adventures, we had to wait around until 12 before we could finally go on the tour. We visited the albino alligator whom everyone thought was fake because it didn't move while we were present. We took pictures on a green screen (which ended up being $35 and included one big picture and two small wallet size pics plus a frame for the wallet sized one). We declined as we didn't feel that was worth the money. We were expecting a bit more out of the tour. Most of it was "look at this, this is what hurricane ida destroyed last year." While yes that was cool information, it was mostly the only information we received. We received more of a history lesson about Jean lafitte on the bus than we did on the tour. We saw about 5 crocodiles and a crane. The airboat tours purposely kept spraying us with the swamp water, which was not pleasant at all. We saw the "spot" that inspired the movie the princess and the frog. We felt like we spent more time on the bus than we did on the tour. The tour company was great, so if we were to come back, we would definitely use again, just definitely not for a swamp tour.

Three of us took the 2-hour Super City Tour on Sunday. It departed at Noon from the Gray Line Lighthouse Ticket Station at Toulouse St. and the Mississippi River (look for the Steamboat Natchez Dock and the Old Man River Statue). The cost was $44 per person, and as we approached the bus, we were offered ice cold bottles of water. That was a nice touch! We meandered through 15 neighborhoods some of which were the French Quarter, Jackson Square, Central City, the Garden District and Warehouse Arts District. We stopped at the St. Louis Cemetery #2 and at City Park for a bathroom and Beignet Break at Café du Monde, but the advertised feature to see the Besthoff Sculpture Garden didn't work out because (as we were told) the gate was closed? We saw a lot of cool old mansions, learned a lot about New Orleans culture and history, and enjoyed our tour guide's (Huey Pablovich) easy going humorous narration - he was excellent. The bus was comfortable, and the windows were plenty big for photographic purposes. Bottom line? Well, it was OK, but I would have preferred a few more stops along the way for photo opportunities somewhere.

We did the Bonfire Express tour last night. Tim, our tour guide entertained us with the history of the bonfires as well as New Orleans. Every entertaining. The bonfires were crazy. We didn't see elaborate structures, but lots of lmtall pyramid ones. People light fireworks and thrn their pyramids. Very cool! Our bus driver was great and the bus was new and comfortable.onthr way backwe had cookies and eggnog and Tim read us a Cajun story. They were able to let us off at the hotel because it was on the route. It was a perfect night. You donteant to miss this once a year experience. The only thingto make it better was if they scouted out ahead of time the sculpture structures you see on the news clips. Expect some walking! Some people didn't read the description and were a little miffed! We were prepared and it was magical.

We chose the grey line for our plantation and swamp boat tour. We had an amazing time. First off our tour guide was AMAZING! She had the cutest sparkly cheeks (my girlfriend and I can't remember her name) and then there was Darren the driver who was a complete southern gentleman! The guide was knowledgeable and funny, she shared the history of New Orleans and the surrounding area with us on the way to the plantation. Later we went to the swamp for a river boat tour with captain Bishop and he was a great boat driver and told many interesting story out the swamp and NO. We say SO MANY ALLIGATORS ! I would definitely recommend and do it all again give them the opportunity!

My husband and I did the Oak Alley Plantation and swamp tour. It was the best. Kate was very knowledgeable and Michael was an added bonus, I mean, a good bus driver is just a +++. The hours just flew by. Totally recommend, you won't regret taking this tour.

We took the Garden District Tour with Barbara Robichaux today. I've been to the Crescent City many times but never to this picturesque neighborhood. The 2.5 hour tour was well worth the $23 especially with Barbara as our guide. She is a Creole New Orleanian through and through so not only is she knowledgeable, she can speak first hand about the city. She was extremely personable, funny, and witty. If you book this tour, I would request Barbara. She even offered tips of places to go and eat, as well as what to avoid - helpful and honest to the tourists - what more could you ask for in a tour guide? Delightful tour of one of New Orleans prettiest and historic areas with interesting facts about the city, architecture, and how the Garden District came to be. read more

First, we show up and their computers are down. We had booked with a third party and the tour was over booked. Not only did they put us on the next tour, but they upgraded us to a better tour for the confusion. -The Plantation tour (Detrehan Plantation) and Swamp tour was the best time we had in New Orleans! Jim (with 1 'M') was very informative and sometimes was even funny! Best information we've gotten on a tour! Worth every penny and we will definately be back again! AAA rating from us! read more

We booked the super city tour, It is a covered regular bus which departs from the gray line ticketing office by the steam boat. Our guide was informative and he pointed out a lot of facts and highlights of the city, we also passed the city park and we had 20 minutes free walk. It was a good choice to see the city especially when it is raining. The bus doesn't go into French quarter. read more

I booked a 6 seat airboat tour for me and my buddies and it was the best thing we've ever done. We're all motorcyclists and we were riding through the area. So when we got on the boat, we told the tour guide that we were fine with opening it up a bit and he obliged once we were far enough out. I've never had so much fun in my life flying along the swamp in that airboat. Freaking awesome. We also did some slow cruising through some really dense parts of the swamps and our guide told us all about the eco system there. Incredibly interesting. He even got a few gators to show themselves and jump out of the water to grab some hot dogs. Pretty impressive. The great thing too is that they pick you up and drop you off right at your hotel. I highly, HIGHLY recommend this tour, and pay extra for the 6 seat boat. It's an experience you will never forget. read more

We took the Katrina Tour. The cost was $35 pp (not including tip for the driver/guide). The tour itself was okay...we were driven to areas outside of the French Quarter (most notably, the Ninth Ward). And, we made a stop at the Botanical Gardens. After an hour or so (the tour ran 3 hours), we had our fill of dilapidated, abandoned homes and land. It was devasatating and a real eye opener but was a bit tiring. We loved the guide. She earns 5 stars+. She was incredibly insightful and knowledgeable. A native from New Orleans...she was truly passionate about this lovely city and its people. read more

So fun and refreshing!! Our tour guide "Lil Lou" was so funny and loved cracking jokes. He had small gators that we got to hold!! Although it's not on an airboat, we got to see more gators because it's quieter. Definitely worth it, you go to the central location and then they drive you to the swamps and was definitely cheaper than everywhere else that offered hotel pick up. Worth every penny read more

This driver took us from Whitney plantation to Oak Alley. She was rude & loud treating us like some bad kids in a school bus We just finished our tour in the hot sun & she did not let us purchase some cold drinks. Standing at the door , yelling "You can not purchase that" Who is she to tell me I can not purchase? Laura Plantation Review With the Laura plantation tour, Gray Line is essentially providing a shuttle bus to the plantation. The tour of the plantation is not Gray Line. However, the bus was comfortable and nice. Good for hangover napping. The driver did talk a little on the way there. It was fine, but not a significant positive or negative. The plantation tour was excellent. It is not a "fancy home" tour, it's more an interesting history tour. Meticulous attention to detail in the restoration. Our guide Ethan was knowledgeable and entertaining. Highly recommended if this sounds like something you'd enjoy. read more

Took the Nantez boat cruise and the Oak Alley plantation tour. Both were awesome. Our Oak alley tour includes a guide and a bus trip - the employees were awesome. Mary L. was a real history buff and it showed. Her love for New Orleans came through as we drove the city and vicinity. She gave us little stories and pointed out landmarks. Funny and charming, I'd recommend her to anyone who wanted to know more about the city and surrounding area. read more

I hate to say it but this was one of the most boring tours I've ever been on... it was probably our tour guide who had to comment on everything. I fell asleep within 20 minutes even it was freezing on the bus The tour was affordable but the sites we went to were uneventful. read more

On my last full day in New Orleans, I wanted to do a tour. I was tempted by a swamp tour but prefer to be out of the sun going on a plantation tour based on our United States History. Well, Gray Line Tours did a great job. Due to the awesome work from our tour guide, Sandy Shahady, we were led to and from Oak Alley Plantation with great ease. Moreover, Sandy had a great sense of humor to keep us going and learning a lot about ourselves as Americans but also appreciate what we do have. The only thing I ask from them is something to show better when traveling back to New Orleans since the quality was bad. Other than that, I would recommend Gray Line Tours. read more

Great tour our bus guide was Dionne. Great narration and knowledge from her. We went to see Whitney and Laura plantation both a MUST SEE!!!!! I have 4 stars cause our bus got a flat tire on the way back from the tour and the wait for a new bus pick up was over an hour, it made for a very long day! From ticket booth to bus narration, and driver was a good experience very friendly staff! read more

Had a terrific time on the Super City bus tour with Kindrell Faulk as our trusty guide. I learned a lot about the city of New Orleans and what makes it so different. I enjoyed the few times we got to get out of the bus and see the sculpture garden and one of the many graveyards. Towards the end of the tour, Kindrell made lots of food recommendations - greatly appreciated Money very well spent! read more

We booked a swamp and bayou tour with Gray Line and it was well worth it! Darius was our bus driver and transported us to and from the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park. Captain Anstro narrated our boat tour around the swamp, give us some insight of life in Louisiana and thoroughly amused us by coaxing a few baby gators to the boat. We really lucked out for unusual warm November weather as the gators tend to be hibernating already! Although feeling some FOMO for not booking the airboat, I'm glad we didn't go with that option as they were ridiculously loud blasting past us. I don't think we would have had as good of an experience going the other route. read more

I had the good fortune to sail aboard The City of New Orleans during Gray Line tours' family friendly, Sunday live jazz brunch cruise. The guided cruise along the Mighty Mississippi River gave my out of town guests a river view of my beloved city. Brunch also afforded them an opportunity to sample a variety of New Orleans popular dishes: shrimp and grits, gumbo, red beans and rice, jambalaya, fried fish, bread pudding, just to name a few. The crew, the best aspect of our experience, left a lasting impression! Our hostess Ms Gina could not have been more inviting, friendly or accommodating. She made us feel like family. Our server Ms Sonya was warm, extremely attentive and professional. This review is for the Katrina tour + swamp & bayou tours. Katrina tour was very eye opening, they give you an insane perspective on what went down and how bad things got. I loved our tour guide George! He grew up in the area and even showed us what street/house he grew up on and what his personal experience was with Katrina. That guy remembered everything about what happened and didn't skip a beat. The swamp & bayou tour was great! Convenient that they pickup & drop off. Great experience, VERY COLD on the boat since you're going at a speed (this is in Feb) so I recommend bringing an extra jacket. read more

Great experience with the Garden District Walking Tour. We had a large group and Gray Line was very accommodating to move things around so we could all go together. Our guide Midge was great, very smart about the community, homes and history and was able to keep all of us moving along. I went on the Christmas Eve Bonfire Adventure Tour with a small amount of expectations and came back with an experience that was far beyond what I hoped. I went as a solo rider and came back with two new friends. BilliJo was our guide and that woman packs an amount of information that is quite phenomenal. I was coming to discover the Louisiana culture and to have fun, and I definitely had both. The visit of the San Francisco Plantation was accompanied with an early dinner (around 4-5pm), so be prepared to eat early. Next to the dining hall a few merchants were selling Christmas decorations and scented candles. All very nice and charming :) The plantation gives a good idea of how life was like 200 years ago, and will give you a few anecdotes on how people handled the harsh life that it was to live in the swamps. We then headed to the bonfires and the amount of joy, excitement, fireworks, firecrackers and kettle corn was to the top. I was feeling like a child that just got to Disneyland. The celebration is something you want to go to at least once in your life and be sure to enjoy it with a drink! The firecrackers were LOUD but they added to the overall experience. I just went on the Hurricane Katrina tour and it was a waste of time and money. We basically drove around the areas that recovered. Which is a very one sided story. There's alot of poor parts of New Orleans that has not recovered. Everyone on the bus was also disappointed by this tour. read more

Totally agree Martin said, boring, I'm rather stay in the hotel room. In their ads, they said "hold a live gator!" We didn't see any creature during the tour, my 3 year old was keep asking where is the alligator. I told him don't worry there is a baby gator on the boat and you will hold it. Turns out they don't have one! My son was so disappointing and I regret for not choosing a better company. The round trip bus took almost 2 hour and then waiting for 30mins. Just wait time read more

Took a bus tour to the Oak Alley Plantation on 10/17/19. The bus was AWFUL!!! The windows made so much noise you couldn't hear Liz our tour guide so the trip there was a total waste. By the time we got to the plantation my head hurt from all the rattling the windows made. I mentioned it to the bus driver and he said he was aware of how noisy the windows were. Not his fault, but one would think they would do something about it. I will never take another trip with gray line. It's apparent they do not take care of or do proper maintenance on their busses. So disappointed!!! read more

This was an excellent tour. There were two portions, Plantation House and Swamp Tour. The highlight of our tour was the swamp tour. We had a great time. The ship captain was very knowledgeable and we got to hold an alligator. BillieJo (tour guide) and Darius (Bus Driver) were very courteous and professional. We recently took a long weekend trip to NOLA for fun, and scheduled a Plantation and Swamp tour with Gray Line... it was probably the most anticipated activity of our trip, and it did not disappoint! We really enjoyed checking out the Destrehan Plantation, and had a blast on the swamp tour (via Cajun Pride Tours)! Our Gray Line tour guide, Sandy, was very knowledgeable and had a wealth of information to share. I highly recommend this tour, and suspect that Gray Line's other tours are just as fun and worth the $$! read more

Enjoyed the swamp and plantation tours. They did not have that "tourist trap" vibe going on. The only... problem would be that not everyone goes on plantation tours for the same reason. So, if you're of color be fully prepared to deal with the other tourists. While nothing "bad" happened, some people just have little regard for the histories of such places and what that might mean for others around them. read more

We decided on the Garden district tour. Carol our guide was very sweet and extremely knowledgeable about the area. Worth the money at $37 dollars. Plus they gave us water as the sun was beaming. I recommend bringing an umbrella if doing tour during hot season. Very few places to hide when there is no shade. read more

The worst part was her points system, where she'd give out points if people followed instructions or answered questions. For example, when we stayed on the sidewalk instead of walking in the street, she'd shout "10 points!" and point at each person while repeating it. It wasn't quirky or fun, it was just annoying. I wouldn't recommend this tour based on her alone. After our awful experience we tried another company called Nola Ghost Riders and I'd highly recommend them. They are located at the Voodoo Lounge off Decatur St, while French Quarter Phantoms is at Voodoo Lounge off Rampart St.

As requested, I will keep the individual location names secret as to not spoil your potential food tour but also because the stops can change and I don't want to have you disappointed if you don't get the same places on your tour. Ty was a great guide, providing us with local history and culture as we ate our way down Magazine Street. The only complaint I have is that they didn't really interact with us during the food portions, standing or sitting off to the side, or running to the next location to make sure we were all set. To me, the guide should be not only the bridge between the locations and food with us, but also a bridge between the different groups on the tour. Ty told us before the tour started that the other folks joining us were from Michigan, but we found out from them later that they were actually from New York. Had these connections been made earlier, it would have enhanced the tour. On to the food, wonderful that it all was! Please note that I may make some errors in the actual names of the food, while I took pictures, I did not write down the names and there wasn't a post-tour recap to assist me! Stop #1: A local sandwich and a seafood side. Both quite good, especially since I don't like olives! Stop #2: An unusual meat that was shockingly good! Stop #3: Seafood options. I've had a different version of one of these items in Asheville, NC. This wasn't quite as good but still tasty. Stop #4: Southern favorites that were so good! I didn't think I would like these but I did. Stop #5: A peppermint fudge cupcake. Sadly, the weakest stop on the tour. Other that tried the gelato came away disappointed and my cupcake was neither overly fudgey or pepperminty. It looked pretty, though!

My family and I booked a plantation tour with greyline. We were surprised they had the tour we wanted which was the Laura plantation tour, Apparently they opened it for Thai weekend only for the new year. Our bus driver Oriel was the best! She was well informed and had a lot of knowledge of the history of New Orleans, including the Louisiana purchase, Louie Armstrong, hurricane Katrina, museums, and about all the plantations! Not only that, she was hilarious and made everyone laugh the whole drive in good way! She also seemed to know about all the good restaurants around town and all the special deals they had going! We were very pleased with her and would recommend her to anyone wanting to gain some knowledge and have a great time! We will definitely take a tour with greyline again as long as we get Oriel as our driver ! She deserved a raise because that's how much we loved her! read more

My husband always wanted to go on a Louisiana swamp tour. We walked upon the tour guide station and decided at the last minute to take the tour to Jean Lafitte. We rode the bus approximately 20-30 minutes to our destination. There was a place set up with restrooms and a gift shop for last minute drinks, ponchos, etc. I will be honest, I wasn't expecting to see everything that we saw! The tour was well worth it (we did the flat bottom boat tour). Every area that we entered, we were greeted by several gators! We saw many birds, turtles, and millions of beautiful Spanish moss trees. I highly recommend this swamp tour on the flat bottom boat because you're able to move freely to see everything. read more

Just went on the Katrina tour with Grayline. I was a little shaky about doing it, it seemed voyeuristic and morbid, but it was the only way I could get up close to the lake and the levee system, so I went. The guide, Sylvester, a Katrina survivor, was fantastic. He hit on the history of the city, of each parish, each ward. He told me lots of things I didn't know about New Orleans. And his narrative in the flood areas made it all more 'human'. Seeing Katrina's aftermath was moving and heartbreaking, the tour wasn't morbid at all. As a northerner, who watched it all on TV, it really touched me. I'd recommend it, but only if Sylvester is your driver. read more

I did the New Orleans Original Cocktail Walking Tour and the guide was Joe. First off, it's not a pub crawl. It is a history of the cocktails of New Orleans, and boy, do you get so much more! It's like a history lesson on the city. Joe's knowledge is unsurpassed! You learn about so many things, other than the cocktails. Bonus, you get the opportunity to try all the drinks, (you have to purchase them), that are on the tour. Joe was so engaging and even provided one on one Q & A during the tour. Highly suggested if you want history of the city mixed in with a few cocktails. I'd do it again when I return to the city! read more

We recently were in New Orleans for four days and took a tour with Gray Line. Our tour was of the Oak Alley Plantation with driver/guide Kindrell Faulk. Ken was a fantastic tour guide as well as bus driver and gave an oral history of everything from the swamps and bayous to the wild life all along the route to the plantation which was over an hour drive outside of New Orleans. We toured the plantation with another guide and then Ken narrated the tour home and also played a movie on the history of slavery on New Orleans Plantations. I was on the Super City Tour with Ryan on 10/8/16. He was great! Loved his sense of humor, graciousness, enthusiasm, the stories he would tell, and I mostly enjoyed his love of New Orleans. I know it is impossible to see everything in the city in 3 hours, but I thought Ryan and the bus driver gave a very good overview. I had never been to New Orleans before and had a great experience, overall. I also took the Grayline Oak Alley and swamp tours and they were wonderful excursions. My girls did the Swamp and Bayou tour and loved it. They particularly liked holding the baby alligator and feeding it marshmallows. They had one suggestion: There were a couple of people on their tour who 'teased' the alligators with the marshmallows and the girls were a little put off by that. They would have liked for the guides to either instruct participants a little more clearly about interacting with the animals at the beginning or to step in and stop it when it was happening. read more

Did the double plantation tour. Was a very informative full day. Nancy and Donald where the tour guide/ driver, Nancy talked almost the whole time on everything we drove by, as well as played music of the different cultures. Booked and went on the walking cemetery and voodoo tour this morning. It was a little chilly but Mary our guide was Fantastic!!! She was very knowledgeable at the history of the area. She also had very good dry humor and was great fun all around. Would recommend this tour and Mary as a guide. She also does ghost tours. read more

My husband and I just had a wonderful ghost tour with Todd of Gray Line. He was energetic, informative, funny, and charismatic about each ghost story. He was also a FANTASTIC story teller. My mom and I took a weekend trip to New Orleans and just got back today! We took the Isle of Orleans tour with Jude and really enjoyed it! He was very knowledgable and entertaining! I believe in ghosts because of this tour…read more This post is long overdue. I went with my family in Summer 2015 and it was a group of 5 of us. The reason I never reviewed because at one point I lost the photo which convinced me that spirits were real! I've finally found it The pick up location was at a local bar. Our tour guide was Graham? I remember him mentioning his educational background on the history of LA and that he had only lived in NOLA for 8 years. He was very accommodating with my cousin who was unwell and had to take a breather for one moment. Needless to say, he put up with my family's shenanigans. We toured the outside of a haunted building, the garden/patio of another building, learned about where vampire stories originated from. The last part of the tour included viewing an old 3 story building which used to be a brothel, ice cream shop, and an upcoming restaurant. One room was currently under construction but you were able to go inside the pink painted room. But I was too scared! We sat in the living room near the fireplace and Graham mentioned that many people took photos of one corner and has found interesting footage. So we did using our go pro we had on hand. In my photo, you can see a figure of a woman that isn't suppose to be there! There's supposed to be a plain shadow from the other dining room but instead you can kind of see the outline of a woman's face. And in the bottom right, you can see a baby's face??? Increasing the brightness may help see what I'm talking about idk.... Graham, the tour guide, is the one showing me the company iPad with other footage which tourists have submitted. I am the one he is showing to.. the pictures on the iPad are insane! I was afraid and was covering my face bc holy f like..... how did people capture this on camera!! Anyway, I forget which tour this was but I can imagine the other ones being just as interesting. I was nonchalant about ghosts but after this tour, I began watching Ghost Adventures haha. Graham was a great story teller. The stories he told showcased real people experiencing pain and suffering which just highlighted what happens to souls in their afterlife. He also explained the history of the buildings and the haunted chandelier in the dining room. I really enjoyed this tour! It was a great time and a wonderful learning experience on the history of New Orleans. I am looking forward to visiting again.

Basically I'm telling you, I could not walk my way out of a paper bag. So when the boy surprised me with an impromptu trip to New Orleans for my birthday we spent our first day wandering the streets with no real places to go. Sure it's a wonderful city but we had a limited amount of time, places to go, and most importantly things to eat. It was time to call in the professionals. I emailed Le Monde Creole at 2 am in the morning to book a two and half hour tour of the city. Yeah it's touristy, but I highly suggest taking a walking tour. This trip helped us take in the culture better and also plan the rest of our trip there! I could not be happier with our host Bill, a local with a knack for storytelling. His musical, lilting voice took us into the story of the a Creole French family in the 19th century. Let me tell you, this is no American Girl story. The Lacoul Family had everything you could ever want: sex, intrigue, violence and scandal! I held on to every single word. For a girl who was diagnosed with ADD by a psychic at her high school graduation (another story, another day) this is quite the feat. I highly, highly recommend this tour. Besides the story you will also get to check out some private New Orleans courtyards (including one where an American Horror Story scene was filmed!), cemeteries (and see the NIcholas Cage future burial place), pharmacies, houses, etc!

We traveled in September and although not peak summer, it was still hot with temps around 88-93 degrees. With city exploration on the brain, we left it to the pros at Grey Line to show us around. We did the City and Cemetery tour by bus. It was a quiet ride, air-conditioned bus with plush comfy seats. We sat in the front to hear our tour guide. Our tour guide was John and our driver was Kisha. Both did an awesome job getting us around St. Louis Cemetery #3, City Park and the Garden District. We learned a lot about each destination and enjoyed taking in all the views, history and fun facts. I didn't even realize City Park was one and a half times larger than Central Park! Paid public parking is just minutes from the main entrance lighthouse. I think we paid around $15-20 to park for 4.5 hours. Try to get there at least 15 minutes prior to arrival. They board soon after and you're given a sticker to identify as part of the tour group. Pro-Tip: Bring shades, sunscreen, a hat and a bottle or two of water with you. The summer months get hot out here! Overall, we enjoyed our 3 hour excursion. Definitely put it on your to-do's while visiting.

There are a few airboat tour companies near New Orleans, but we decided to go with Airboat Adventures due to the price and positive reviews online. I booked the tour online through their website. If you want something more private, go witha smaller airboat, which is a bit more expensive than the large airboat. But because we're chickens, we decided to go with the larger airboat that held more people. The tour offers transportation to their location by bus for an extra fee, but we decided to drive our own car since they provided on-site parking. I do recommend driving your own car, because the drive was absolutely scenic. A lot of green and we got to see all the beautiful houses built on stilts on the way. Not to mention, it's about a 30 min drive from New Orleans. When we arrived, there were plenty of parking. They also had bathrooms inside and on the exterior of their store, which were very clean! Inside the store, you can check out a live albino alligator and take photos while you wait. You can also wait outside on the dock -- plenty of seating and you can grab a drink at the bar. The tour was amazing and so was our tour guide. The weather was nice, we saw a lot of gators sunbathing a bald eagle, and its nest. It was more than what I expected! Everyone in my party had a great time and more memories were made! Side note: Airboats are very loud so make sure you keep the headphones on!
