These guys are amazing! My car broke down at the stop light across the street. They realized what was going on and they along with 2 other guys from Oriellys came over and pushed me to their lot. They gave me a quote and told me it would be ready some time the next day. They called me in probably an hour or less saying it was fixed and ready to go! It's my first time here because I needed a quick oil change. In the past, I had done it myself, take it to Toyota or Honda dealers depending which of our vehicles. Lately, these dealers are ridiculously slow even with an appointment they still have me wait 2-3 hour for an oil change. So, I decided to support my fellow local businesses. Before I brought my vehicle here, I called to make sure they is no long line. I was assured they did't have line and would be quick. I drove onto the driveway, a gentleman came out to greet me and directed me to drive onto a lane that lead to the ramp. I asked how long it would take. I advised me that it takes about 15 minutes. Sure enough, after 15 minutes, it was done. It's worth the $115 for me as my vehicles takes 6.5 quartz of synthetic oil. It's definitely a place on my list for revisit. read more

My mother went in for an oil change, and was told that her AC filter needed to be changed, otherwise her car's engine would blow up! Just $75 extra for that, on top of the $60 oil change. They had me stay in my car (which I was totally cool with), but they kept opening my door to talk to me without masks on. Not one person was wearing a mask, and there was not effort to social distance. Though the service was quick, I felt uncomfortable with the lack of precautions. My Mazda CX9 was making a sound like sand being poured out of a bag when I turned to the left. I stopped by Grease Money off Petrovitsky Road in Renton and Travis took a look at it and drove my car around the block and came back and said my air conditioner drain was clogged! He said it's the third Mazda CX9 he has seen with that problem. He drained over a gallon of water from it and didn't charge me. He is an excellent mechanic and knows his stuff. I took my car in for an oil change because my maintenance light said it was time. I don't drive very often due to working at home. We usually take my husbands car when we go out. So the technician looked at my mileage since last oil change, at the level of the oil, and the cleanliness of the oil. He said I didn't need an oil change. Checked the air in my tires and told me I was ready to go, No Charge! He could have changed the oil and charged me the full rate and I wouldn't have known the difference. Great quick service. Matt greeted me with a friendly smile. He ran through all of my information and was professional and kind. The lobby could use s good cleaning, but it is an oil change company. My only negative is the attempted sale of new wiper blades. The senior guy came in and said they were really faded and looked old. They were less than two months old. I recently had an oil leak on my Honda civic which I took to my dealer to get a full diagnostic. Instead of going to grease monkey I just went to my dealership and a drain plug wasn't tightened enough so it ended up leaking. My lower engine cover was also off which could be grease monkey or it it may not be. After some sloppy work I don't know what to expect. After calling grease monkey about the issue they acted like I should've brought it to them. Whenever you mess up work it's your responsibility wether I bring it to you or the dealership to confirm you didn't properly do your job. I am now out of $250 and I won't be going back. Same bad quality as Jiffy lube and the corporate voicemail box is full too so good luck calling them. read more

$96.33 to get an oil change. WOW!!! They charged me extra for synthetic oil when I didn't ask for it. And there is no way of telling if I even got it (they never mentioned it). They are fairly fast. And I believe are checking fluids. They no longer vacuum the inside of cars due to COVID. But yet they totally jacked up there prices. read more

I like this place. I have 2 luxury vehicles and trust them to do the work on oil changes and serpentine belts and such. They've never done a bad job for me and they are very convenient to my house. I took my 2006 Audi A6 3.2L quattro here for an oil change. I've paid close to $70 for the service. Part of the service is to replace the oil filter, which they did. The filter comes with 2 o-rings, but they only replaced one. Because of this negligence, oil started to leak from the filter. Since the filter is on the top of the engine, the oil from the filter ran down all the way to the exhaust, where it turned into heavy smoke. I took my car to a mechanic and he explained all this to me. I know nothing about cars. I had to buy another filter (just because of the 2nd o-ring that they probably threw away) and pay for the replacement another $30. The guys at Grease Monkey either don't know what they are doing or they just don't care. read more

Stay away from here (unless you want your car to be seriously jacked up). So this place is in my neighborhood and I have gone here every 3-5k miles for the last several years. The last couple of times I have been there, they totally messed up costing me money, and possibly safety! 1) About 1 year ago, I took my car here and the next day I had white smoke coming out of my exhaust...not a little white smoke, a LOT. Like I could have been pulled over for pollution or sent to emissions! Took my car into the shop and they said that there was 10 quarts of oil in my car!!! Ummm the recommended amount for an oil change is 5 quarts, so they doubled that! This caused my spark plugs to need changing which cost me $350 at the mechanics! The manager was not helpful and basically denied that it was their fault, even though I had not taken my car anywhere else, much less lifted the hood myself. 2) Stopped by here to have tires checked on my way out for a road trip and they overfilled the tires. 50psi, and my tires say to do 40psi. 3) Came in for an oil change and they didn't top off my washer fluid. I know, I know, STOP going there! I am officially done with this Grease Monkey and will NEVER go back again. I don't know what the hell is going on in this place... don't you people have a checklist that you should be working off of? Worst oil change place ever!!! read more

We actually started at Jiffy Lube and ended up at Grease Monkey. My wife and I attempted to have our car serviced at Jiffy Lube, like we have always done with all of our vehicles. We were greeted by our window by Talia, who later identified herself as the General Manager. Talia, along with all other visible employees was not wearing a mask. She was standing 6 inches from the window and asking me to roll down the window. I gestured that I would like her to back up or put a mask on. She backed up another 6 inches, nowhere near the recommended 6 feet. I told her that she was going to need to back up 6 feet or put a mask on. She scoffed and left and came back with a mask, visibly annoyed. The service quickly went downhill from there. When she tried to hand us a filthy clipboard and dirty pen, we let her know that we were not comfortable with touching those items and asked that she take down our information that we gave her verbally. She rolled her eyes, huffed, and said "fine". She then demanded that I roll the window all the way down or she would not provide us service. It became clear that this was going to be a futile attempt to service our car as she had no interest in taking necessary safety precautions and we had no interest in getting Covid. We asked that the service be stopped. We drove directly to Grease Monkey and had a wonderful experience. They were all masked, they did not require us to physically touch any items outside our vehicle, and although I couldn't see their smile, it was clear through their demeanor and conversations that they were most certainly providing "service with a smile." The experience we had at Grease Monkey was 180 degrees different than the one we experienced at Jiffy Lube. Your GM, Talia's cavalier attitude toward state-mandated safety precautions, along with her appalling lack of customer service, has all but assured that we will not be returning to Jiffy Lube. read more

One of my headlights was out. I bought the bulb, took it to Grease Monkey and they switched it out for free in 10 minutes! I have been coming to this establishment since it opened 25 +/- years ago. On several occasions the technicians spotted and item while doing their service, had that item gone unresolved, might have cost much more to repair later or worse. Today is another example; not as dramatic but appreciated nonetheless. I've had a nuisance brake light illuminated in my dashboard that I have been carrying around for months. I had checked my lights and failed to find anything out of the ordinary, so I thought I had an electrical glitch triggering the light in the dashboard. The Grease Monkey technicians observed a small obscure light bulb in the braking system that had in fact burnt out; I had missed it several times. For a nominal fee they replaced the light bulb and sure enough the "warning" light is gone. It is a small thing but they saved me a trip to some garage/dealer or hours of wasted time on my own trying to figure out what caused the non-existent fault. It was simple, I missed the burnt out light bulb, and they caught it and got paid to fix it. Over the decades I have been treated well. Grease Monkey is a good value for the money spent. That is why I have taken 5 cars back for regular service for some 25 years. read more

Arrived when they opened and the employee Austin moved the cone and pointed into the lane to drive up so I started to and he started yelling..so I reversed. He said he didn't instruct me to pull in and I didn't argue. Truth is he didn't give any direction or assistance. He was rude - probably hating his life and taking it out on me. Grease Monkey is quick and service people are friendly. I have been about 10 times between my car and my wife's car. They always try to sell you a new air filter or cabin filter, so just tell them "just the oil change today." Also - there is always coupons. They are also good about honoring coupons you dont bring in. So just say you got a coupon in the mail and forgot it. My only complaint is that even if you get full synthetic they still tell you to come back in 3.000 miles. You obviously don't Full synthetic is good for at least 5-7K. They do have coffee, water, and popcorn - but I dont touch any of it. read more

The manager was very personable and changed a fuel filter on my car for about a quarter of the cost of my mechanic, so I'll be seeing these guys every few thousand miles. read more

Disappointing. I had come here previously because it had been conveniently located and it was just okay. Now I come in on Sunday and they are unexpectedly closed before their normal business hours say and I ask why, and I get a bad attitude from the manager and some bad excuses as to why they are closing. There was not even any apologetic gestures or comments. For those near fairwood wa or Renton, other near by lube shops will gladly take your money with smiles on their faces during normal business hours. I had a coupon that I showed the technician before my car was serviced.. I went to buy some new headlights and then came back to the shop and they charged me $80 for a oil change.. people actually pay this price?! Went in to Grease Monkey this last Saturday. They failed to check and adjust my tire pressures. I drive a Dodge 3500 dually. The back tires are to be set at 65 psi each and the front at 80 psi. They were all at 70 psi. Adjusted all the tires when I got home. The visit before this one they refused to check my rear tires due to they were dually. Just moved to the Seattle area three weeks ago so of course I needed a new oil change place. I found Grease Monkey online and figured I'd give it a shot. The customer service was outstanding, as was the pricing. I had my oil/ filter changed, and all three serpentine belts replaced PLUS they washed my windows and vacuumed the interior, all for $20 less than my bargain mechanic in AZ quoted me just to do the belts alone. People who were just there for oil changes were in and out in approx 10min or so. Mine took longer because of the belts but I was still out of there in under an hour. They gave me coupon discounts (I didn't even bring any and a drastically reduced price on the belts. They didn't try to sell me a bunch of stuff either. They even have a popcorn machine with free popcorn in the lobby! I highly recommend them and will definitely be going back! read more
