Like many reviewers I was tired of going to Jiffy Lube and places like it. This place is within walking distance of where I just moved to so I thought I would give them a try. Had an occasional mystery fluid dripping from under the hood. I called Rock Creek Lube Center and asked if they'd be able to take a look and identify what it could be. Without hesitation they said to drop by and they would take a look. Drove to their facility a couple hours later and within 10 minutes they identified that the oil filter hadnt been tightened appropriately from the last oil change (local "fast" lube place) and the big drop in temperature outside was probably just enough for it to cause the occasional leak. No charge, have a nice day. I will consider them for future automotive needs. read more

WARNING GET SECOND OPINION!! I agreed for work to be done on my car and for a part to be replaced. Just ONE part. Only for my car to be returned completely not functional and for them to tell me that they do not have the time to do the work on my car that it needs to be functional again. Now I'm having to take it somewhere new. And have to pay for a tow truck to move it as well. They get a few points though for the calendars in the lobby. They also made me pay, which seemed a little expensive to me, for the part even though my car did not work anymore. read more

Staff friendly and seemed knowledgeable. However, each time my car went in, it had to go back a second and even a third time. Not sure if they were trying to save me $ by doing less expensive fixes first or they were trying to bleed me dry doing unnecessary fixes just to get more money. But regardless, they did not explain to me their thought process. The last straw was when it went in twice for the same code for them just to tell me it was a timing belt, and "they don't do that here." But of course, I had already paid them for an oil change which was probably unnecessary. read more

I have been using Rock Creek Lube for my family's oil changes for the past several years. They are usually quick and efficient. I have recommended them to several people. UNFORTUNATELY, I can no longer recommend them in good conscious. I recently had an oil pressure issue with my car & had it towed to Rock Creek. I did not receive a call that my car had arrived or that they had inspected it. I had to call to get updates and to find out my car was ready. They suggested a service that was $700. Trusting their expertise, I had the service completed. After picking up my car, I did not even make it home before the same warning came on & I had to have it re-towed back to their shop as they assured me they would "make it right." After two days of them having it, I once again called back and they hadn't even looked at it. I googled the issue I was having and found out it is a relatively common issue resolved by a simple oil change! I called back and asked them to try that. They completed the service and low & behold it resolved the issue! When I went to pick up my car they wanted to charge me an additional $100 for the oil change. I explained the situation and asked to speak with the owner/manager to see if they could reimburse some of the original cost for the service that did not fix the car. Of course, no one was there that could help me & I was asked to call back in the morning. I literally called for a week straight and the owner was never available-always "running an errand." I left multiple messages for him to please return my call & 3 weeks later still not a word. I'm so disappointed in the complete lack of communication and attention to customer service. I will be looking for a new place for my oil service needs as well as suggesting to others to do the same. read more

These guys are the BEST! I had originally tried to go to some where else (you know the places that also have a car wash and the people working there look like they are or were heavy drug users) but they couldn't do an oil change on my car because the internet was down. I found this place which had good reviews and called them and they got me right in. It took them less then 20 minutes and they even discounted my service with an online coupon I didn't even ask for. Again, after a year, my oil change warning light came on. I called my auto shop in Issaquah if I can just go to Rock Creek vs having to drive to Issaquah. Due to the warning light, they recommended that I should just take it in to Rock Creek so that I don't have to schedule out. I have a newer vehicle now and that was why I take to Issaquah for full service. In the past, I had always been to Rock Creek Oil when I had my former suv. So happy to see that they can always take in your vehicle when you drive up and it took 15 min! The employees are professional and happy to give them my business again. read more

I have been going to Rock Creek Lube Center since they opened. They are honest, fair, and always stand by their work 100%. Any issue I have had, and they are few, they have fixed them immediately. They do more than oil changes, their mechanical work is good, and they typically charge a little less than others I have gotten quotes from. With a professional mechanic background taking my car somewhere to get worked on is something I find very difficult to do. Circumstances were such that I recently relocated and, as such, didn't have a place to perform maintenance on my own car so I brought it to Rock Creek, partly due to some reviews I read. I must say I was pleasantly surprised! I merely needed an oil change and happened to have my own oil and filter in my car (I purchased it before I moved but ran out of time). I had called ahead and was told they would perform the service, with my parts, for a fee (to be expected.) When I arrived I was immediately greeted in the parking lot (think Les Schwab style) and they got my car in right away. I watched through the window as they quickly did the oil change and gave my car a once-over, even knocking off snow (onto their shop floor), and washed my windows! While I watched I chatted with the girl at the front desk (sorry, I can't remember your name!) and she was great! She is obviously a gear head, super friendly, accommodating, and provided a no-pressure experience, even offering a discount coupon at checkout. Now I understand a shop needs to make money, and this is usually done with some kind of mark up on parts (like every other business), so I was genuinely surprised. Not only did they not make any money from me on parts sales, they discounted the labor too. When I checked out they just pulled my car in front of the door and didn't try to up-sell me on anything. I felt the price they charged was very fair, they were fast and friendly. Assuming I don't get a place to do my own maintenance again soon, I will return without reservation. I drove up to Maple Valley yesterday from Portland to buy a used Honda van from a private party. I wanted to have a pre-purchase inspection done on the vehicle before purchasing it and, not being from the area, wasn't entirely sure what I would do. I found Rock Creek Lube online and gave them a call. It was Saturday, on short notice, and logistics were potentially an issue...long story short, they helped me coordinate a drop-off with the seller, conducted a thorough inspection of the vehicle (major systems, body, brakes, electrical, etc.) and notified me of the findings on the drive up BEFORE I even arrived in town. The deal was easy at that point and I was able to purchase the van with peace of mind. And did I mention they didn't charge me for it? This is the kind of service experience I would have expected 60 years ago, in a different era (did I go into the Twilight Zone for a few hours?). HUGE thanks to Nathan and the rest of the staff at Rock Creek. I wish I lived in Maple Valley because you'd be getting by business from now on for all my vehicle needs. Great experience. I had a great experience here in December of 2018. I brought my car in for a routine inspection and walked away paying nothing as they found nothing wrong with my car. I was completely blown away. I was half expecting them to at least make up a charge or give me some kind of "inspection fee". I am completely floored by the integrity shown and I will definitely be bringing my car here for all future maintenance, oil changes, and so on. read more

I went here for an oil change based on the good reviews and the fact that when I called they said they could get me in right away. The service was fast but the price was high ($72). I needed to get to the other 12 errands on my list so I paid it and left. Later I saw a regular service was $42.95 which is fine, but they had charged me an additional $28 for "premium oil." They hadn't given me an choice in this matter. I drive a RAV4, not a Bentley. I don't need the premium oil and i would have rejected it if they had asked. Maybe it's cause I'm a younger woman and I was in a hurry but I've decided not to go back there. Which is unfortunate because other than this, the service was quick and the employees were nice. But as a single, younger woman, I absolutely dread taking my car in for repairs, and this kind of thing is why. read more

Just picked my car up and paid more than $1400 to get it repaired and left with the service light still on. When I asked why the check engine light was still on the man said I would have to bring it back in to see why it's still on. Are you kidding me???!!! Super quick service! Ask and you shall receive. They don't try and sneak in more services that you don't want, so that's great. Getting an oil change is quick and painless! You simply park, and one of the mechanics will meet you outside asking what you want done, and then they ask for your keys to take your car into the garage for you. While they do their thing, just take a seat in their waiting room. It's quite small and doesn't seem to get a daily cleaning, but you're only there for about 15 minutes anyways. They have some candy dispensers and free coffee, but I've never had any. They used to email out $10 coupons if you sign up for their email subscription, but after asking why I haven't received any for a while, they said it was because they had some problems with the web service they were using and that I should try to sign up again. Turns out their registration is broken, too, though. However, you can still get coupons elsewhere online! Valpak usually has an $8 off an oil change, which I used. Overall, quick and painless! Great place to get your oil changed! read more

I caught a vague oil-burning smell as I was out running errands today, and suddenly remembered that I never got that oil change I promised the SUV after the 5,000-mile road trip to TX! And I'd done another 1k since then. Oops. Being somewhat new to MV, I remembered driving by this place because it's a 5-min walk to Hop Jack's, which is a great place to hang out when getting your oil changed because happy hour is 2-6pm. Call it a late lunch. I dropped off the truck with the nice guy who came right out, had a leisurely lunch, and picked it up an hour later. Not only did they do a premium oil change, they had also cleaned all my windows and vacuumed the entire interior! I really saw the difference because I'd taken a camping trip the weekend before and there were pine needles everywhere. One benefit of living "way out" here. Excellent service! This the mechanic shop that we wish all shops were like. If they quote you $250 for a job, it is EXACTLY what they quoted you. They don't nickle and dime you. They are the most HONEST mechanics I have ever met. They don't fix something that doesn't need to be fixed. They stay in constant communication and if the job is more detailed, and needs more work, they ask if they can proceed. I will bring every vehicle of mine here forever. If we move I will drive however far I need to to take my cars here. I TRUST them that much! You can trust these mechanics. I'm not sure why my review wasn't considered credible, but I do not work for this company and I only know them because I am one of their customers. I feel like it is so hard to find an honest mechanic that I will continue to give this company a 5 star so that people can understand how honest invaluable this business is. read more

My first and probably last time to this place. I stopped by for an oil change on a late afternoon on a weekday. The place was dead, so of course they were able to get me in right away. The technicians that helped me was not very "customer friendly" and didn't tell me what he was doing. He just took the key and walked away. He didn't say if he needed any information or invite us to sit in their lobby... he just ignored us. We sat in the lobby for a few minutes and he finally came in. He didn't say anything, so I asked if he needed my information, and he snapped back at me like I was stupid for asking and finally told me "no". I should also add that when they were done and I was talking to the other tech about the car and what he found, the same rude tech kept interrupting us trying to get my contact information. The price is deceiving too. They up-charge about $4 for any oil beside 10w-30. My car takes 5W-30. I have never seen a shop charge more for a different weight, only if you use a premium oil (like High Mileage, synthetic, etc). Overall, walked away feeling like they could care less about me and my vehicle. A oil change is not that hard, and tons of places do them. This is not one at the top of the list. read more

I was very tired of going to Jiffy Lube, I feel like the quality and service has gone downhill so much in the past few years. I tried Rock Creek Lube Center today and was in and out of there in 15 minutes, and I feel like they are actually less expensive than Jiffy Lube, I did have a small coupon, but even without it, I am pretty sure I would have paid more at JL and had to wait much longer. I went in this place for the first time today and was quite impressed. Upon arrival, I was greeted promptly by a young man who took my car in for an oil change and brake inspection. I wasn't in there waiting for long, less than 10 minutes...that's quicker than jiffy lube! Don't expect an honest analysis for other car issues, I requested a brake inspection and was told that they were fine. I took my car to another shop to get a second opinion and was told that the front rotors were warped and would need to be turned. read more

My experience was much like others'.. Greeted at my car, they honored a coupon I saw online but didn't have ability to print. I paid $34 for a 10 minute oil change. They also vacuumed my car, cleaned my windows, and I think checked the air in the tires. Overall I was shocked at how quickly they were finished. It seems that others had the same experience. I usually dread taking my car in for maintenance but I will definitely be back next time it needs service. Our techs name was Marlin or Merlin, I couldn't see his name tag very well. He was pretty quiet and I wasn't sure if he was done or what info he needed, but he got the job done and the interior of my car looks great. read more

We just moved to the area from out of state and could not be more pleased to have found this place. We have always done Oil Can Henry's in the past but the only comparable to that in Maple Valley is Jiffy Lube which everybody knows is a big no-no. Quick and no-nonsense dropoff process. Was met by a Tom (Tim? Sorry mate...a guy in his 30's. ) 10 minutes after they opened. I called letting them know I was arriving the day before. I handed my keys over, asked what I wanted done, and that was that. No upselling/making an account. I was quoted a good price for what I needed done. I was getting a coolant and manual transmission flush. A few hours later I get a call saying everything was all wrapped up. I stop by and I get my car back in nice condition- no mud on the floor, you know? They were nice guys. Even gave me something to shield my receipt from the rain on the way out. Every time I take a vehicle there I have to take it back to get it worked on again, because they forgot something or didn't do anything

I am VERY impressed with Rock Creek Lube Center. I got an oil change late last week and it was so fast I barely even sat down to wait. While I was there, I asked them to check my brakes, because I felt they weren't performing well. The gentleman checked them, and he estimated they had about 25-30% of their life left, but that I was probably having some issues with the alignment of the back brakes. He said I could wait til November or so. We came into some money and I figured I should go in and just get them done. I dropped off my truck in the morning, and got a call a few hours later. They said that the brakes did not need to be done yet, but that they would align the back brakes for a very reasonable fee. I picked up my truck and definitely noticed a huge improvement in stopping distance and I'm so impressed that they were so honest with their business dealings. They could have done the work and I would have been perfectly okay with paying them for their parts and services, but instead they felt strongly I should get the life of my brakes and save my money for now. I think this is so respectable. I can see now why they have such great reviews! I will get my oil changes and servicing here from now on. read more

Have not had a good experience with Rock Creek. Took my car in to have the brakes looked at and they did a diagnoses and quoted me for New front/back brakes with rotors. Told me to drop it off the next evening for work to be done on the following day. When I dropped it off the tech said he'd order parts and it would be ready the next day. Well, the middle of the next day he called and said it was an additional $240 and due to their staff being short they just weren't going to get to it. When I picked it up they never once apologized or asked when I could bring it back for service, they literally handed me my key and said nothing. I'm frustrated because obviously he never ordered the parts and when I pulled in they were standing around, if they'd been so busy they should have been working hard to get their cars out. read more
