Ashley was our moderator, and she was so enthusiastic! This was the best experience I have had here, so they either upgraded their moderation systems, or Ashley is that amazing! I enjoyed our experience with The Witch's Curse. Everything made sense, and many of the puzzles tied into the theme. Like their other rooms, I like that they use a variety of puzzles, not just locks everywhere. Overall, I still stand by my previous review that I think their rooms could be more challenging. However, I would highly recommend Exit to beginners. I like that you can book a private experience, and the pricing is one of the more affordable in the city. The price decreases the more people you have, but a group of 4 is perfect for Exit because the rooms are on the smaller side, and the puzzles are not that complex.

The staff was incredibly pleasant and kept everything running smoothly. My teammates and I had so much fun working together, strategizing, and sharing plenty of laughs along the way. It was a fantastic experience and a great way for our department to bond outside of the workplace. I definitely look forward to coming back! If you're looking for a fun group activity with friends, family, or coworkers, I highly recommend checking this place out. One tip: if you're having trouble finding it because the building has multiple businesses, head to the 5th floor, it's located at the end of the hallway.

They're not polished and some props were finicky, but they were decent enough to do, especially when they give a 50% off discount for doing another escape room with them in the future. All rooms have a good combination of puzzles. They have simple, but intuitive storylines. Game masters have all been attentive and nice. We've only encountered one game master that rushed us out, but the rest were all patient and provided great service. Sometimes they can be understaffed. In those cases, we didn't get a proper "send off" with an opportunity to take a picture and ask questions. If I were to choose only one or two escape rooms to do from here, I'd recommend The Perfect Crime and then Exodus. Those two rooms felt the most cohesive and had just the right amount of challenge. From most to least favorite, I'd rank their rooms as the following, and I wouldn't recommend anything below Prey and Masquerade: Perfect Crime, Exodus, Prey, Masquerade , Nuclear Annihilation, Quarantine. Even though Prey and Nuclear Annihilation are said to be their hardest rooms, they are only hard because they have more puzzles, but the puzzles aren't hard. Some can be not intuitive, but most of them seem like busy work and lazily designed. I think the combinations of puzzles in Perfect Crime and Exodus were the most cohesive and tied most closely with their storylines.

Fyi, we did the room for Guardians of Gotham. When they said that there would be no padlocks, I was somewhat happy. However, that meant way too many number codes and that sucked even more. It felt monotonous and tedious. The puzzles were okay but nothing super interesting. Overall, it just felt like we were solving puzzles, but the theme did not come into play one bit. My goddaughters were very excited about the superheroes theme, yet they said it was boring. I hate to say that I agree, but I do.

My main complaint was that there was a bit too much of a reliance on combination locks and it wasn't always clear why some panel would open up. "Did somebody do something?!" Difficulty: 3/5 (we needed one hint) Decor: 5/5 Tech: 3/5 Story: 4/5 Overall I would say this escape room was in the second quartile of all rooms. In NYC it was among the better ones. I also think this would be a great escape room for kids over 10 years old.

I've done the GCC for two years in a row and plan on making it an annual tradition. You will rack up a lot of steps, work your brain and learn a lot about the rich history of New York City. Some of the challenges are hard, some of them are extremely hard (binary code and interpreting braille) and most are fun. There's even delicious treats that are added in the mix. I highly recommend participating in this amazing challenge and using the services of GCC for any of your team building needs.

They did a great job with the comedy at keeping it age appropriate-just enough edge that the kids were scandalously hysterical. I have not seen the adult shows, but they did a great job with the show rated for Jr. High to High school kids. Would like to check out the adult shows another time. We did the room with a medium difficulty level but weren't able to escape on time. But it didn't matter as we had so much fun. Such a great and unique team bonding activity! When we walked into the room itself I was already panicking as I did not see much to start the escape process in itself. Hardly any book shelf's, tables or doors to find objects. Everything had a lock on it so we knew we definitely had a mission. Also it was a bit confusing as some things in the room had nothing to do with the escape room. They do mark the items with a red x but it was very unfortunate. We seemed to have been in the corner room which had a real exit door and real elevator which is not the best for safety reasons. With all the fun and excitement someone eventually will try to open them. The puzzle was definitely a lot harder than we anticipated but it felt great when we worked together and figured it out! We did have to ask for clues along the way and they did a great job of not entirely giving it away and letting us decipher it amongst ourselves. This room is 1 hour but the last few mins is always the best. I definitely suggest a large group for these escape rooms they are so much fun. We escaped the exodus !!!!

This was one of the funnest parts of our trip! The room we did was outstanding and very well designed. It was also GIANT! I wish we would have brought a larger group with us because I feel like the experience would have been even better with more people. The clues and puzzles were diverse and fun! We have done multiple escape rooms in the past and the secrets hidden in this room were much more elaborate and extensive than the rooms we have done in other cities (and you can't beat the price...a room like this in Kansas City would cost at least double.) It's also in a GREAT location! Just wandering in the area we managed to find tons of great shopping, a chocolate factory and a ton of places to eat! You could easily spend a day there!
