In early March while Kathy was cutting my hair, I inquired about having her style my hair for my granddaughters wedding. She told me to call on Tues March 18 to make the appt for Sat Mar 29. While standing in line at the Washington Mon in DC, I called on March 19. I stated I was in DC and emphasized I did NOT have a calendar but it was for the LAST Saturday n March. The stylist said she would give Kathy the info. On Saturday March 29 (day of wedding) at 7:30 a.m., the stylist who took the original message called to tell me that Kathy was unavailable as she had other plans. She offered to style my hair. Out of desperation, I accepted. I hated the way she styled it, I felt like she did a good job on the back but didn't do at all what I had asked for the sides or bangs. Well, I had the worst haircut experience on my life today. Now, this isn't my first haircut at Great Clips and I realize they move haircuts along quickly as part of their business model, but the guy who cut my hair today spent a grand total of 4 minutes on my hair. Four minutes. He was going so fast, in fact, that the clipper he used was pulling my hair more that cutting it. He then asked me if I wanted my eyebrows trimmed and when I said yes, he either forgot or decided no to do it. He also never shaved my neck hair. And it was all topped off with a glob of goo (I never wanted) in my hair to paste a part in place that I never do. WORST HAIRCUT EVER!! Peace out. read more

I stopped in here on a whim. I was on my way to another appointment and realized I was way early, so I decided to save some time and get a hair cut. There's nothing special about this place, but it was quick and convenient, which was perfect for me! I will say that the ladies were all very nice, and even when I informed them I was up against another appointment, they didn't seem upset or aggravated about the time crunch. Maybe it was the simplicity of the cut I was trying to get, but still, they had a right to be frustrated with me a tiny bit, and they never let it show! She didn't listen, did things her way with excuses and did a pathetic job without getting me to where I wanted to be. Plus all the talking and annoying questions. Yuch! read more

Don't go if you want good customer service. If you want grumpy service, this place might be for you. They will close early even though you check in online. So make sure you get there at least 15 prior to their posted closing. However, I would just advise you to go somewhere else. read more

I have been going to this Great Clips since it opened over 20 years ago. The service has always been friendly and the staff makes you feel welcome. My haircuts have always been exactly what I have asked for as the stylists listen carefully to my instructions. Every haircut with their staff has been good!!! One time I went to a higher priced salon but found the Great Clips stylists to be superior, and so I quickly returned. I would highly recommend this Great Clips!!! read more

I've walked out happy every single time I've gotten my hair cut here. A little over a year ago, I went to a different salon (not a Great Clips, and not located in Chesterfield) and a huge, uneven chunk was cut out of the back of my hair. I came to the Hilltown Village Great Clips to have it fixed, and Meredith was able to work with me to blend it in but still keep my hair in a style I liked. Because the original cut was so uneven, I keep needing to have it blended in as my hair grows out, and Meredith and Michelle have been able to make that happen while working towards the haircut I wanted from the start. Last night Michelle was finally able to even out the last of the original cut and give me the style I wanted from the beginning! They really made the best of a bad situation and helped me to be happy with my hair. I highly recommend them! read more

I wish there were a way to give this place less than one star, but this will have to do. I had my hair cut here today and it was the single worst hair experience I have ever had. The wait was short-- likely because there is absolutely no demand or desire to have one's hair cut here. My request was simple: just a trim. The lady (a large woman with a poorly-done sidecut) asked me if 1/2 of an inch off was alright. I said, "Oh no, much less than that!" Obviously, there was some sort of misunderstanding. I meant less than 1/2 of an inch off. She though I meant much less *hair* on my head, and took nearly 2 inches off. Since she started with the back, I didn't catch the mistake until it was far too late. Next came the bangs-- long story short, she messed my bangs up so badly that I went home and fixed them myself. After she saw how mortified I was, she decided not to charge me (I don't think I would have paid a penny even if she did). The only redeeming quality of this appointment is that it is not possible for me to ever have a worse one. read more
