The black lady with dark red hair did my hair tonight. I told her that i wanted a trim on my har with a trim on faceframing and layers. she was mad i came in 45 minutes before close and didnt even talk or anything. I ASKED FOR A FUCKING TRIM AND SHE CUTS TWO FUCKING INCHES OFF OF MY HAIR IVE BEEN GROWING OUT FOR 6 MONTHS. I have had about 30 or so haircuts here since I moved to Glendale from PHX several years ago. This location is a shining example that paying more does not always mean better. Every haircut I have ever gotten here was great and the ladies are wonderful. They are all good at the trade, outgoing, friendly, and kind. I love going here. I went to Peoria Crossing Greatclips and my stylist was Kay. I had a bad feeling about her but she was the only stylist there at the time. I made the appointment for me and my mother and I went first because I knew what I wanted while my mom was not sure. Kay told me as I sat in the chair "your hair is so long". I told her that I want a trim and layers to bring out my waves. We agreed on 2 inches for the trim. For the layers I told her that i wanted so my waves and curls come back. But when she was done, I didn't have any layers and my hair was shoulder length. As I walked back to my mom i was shaking my head because Kay was cutting her hair next. I sat next to my mom and told her to be very specific about length. I heard Kay telling my mom the same thing about having long hair and she tried to get my mom to cut more hair off than my mom wanted. I did not make a scene and gave Kay a tip but gave her $ 5 each for me and my mom. another reason I didn't Karen is because my hair looks good but she took off 4-5 inches when we agreed upon 2. read more

She picked the wrong size rod and didnt saturate my hair with enough product. So now I have dry frizzy hair with no perm. I spent four hours with her and 125 dollars for nothing. read more

I am beyond upset with my haircut. I have never had this bad of a haircut. It is a hatchet job! I went to this great clips back in July and got a wonderful haircut. Hadn't been back because I am letting my gray hair grow in and i like to keep it long. The woman I had this time read the so called "info" that they keep on their customers and just started cutting!!!!! I told her what I wanted but instead of listening she just kept talking!!!!! And talking!!!!! And cutting!!!!!!! I have been crying since yesterday. This woman also felt the need to tell me that "woman who let their hair go gray look old"... I didn't ask her opionion!!! Nothing like making a person feel like crap! I have curly hair. I told her how it needed to be cut and how I wanted the bangs... she chopped layers in my hair and it's so short I can't even put it up!!!!! Not to mention instead of curly it sticks out everywhere! Just in time for the holidays!!! THE WORST haircut, RUDE, offensive.... someone needs to tell this stylist she has 2 ears and one mouth so she can listen twice as much. Also, ASK don't assume because I have grey hair I want to look like the cookie cutter short hair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't want short hair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I first moved to Arizona in 1993 it was the first time in my life I had no outside influence on how I could wear my hair. So I let it grow and kept it about halfway down my back which was something I could maintain by myself. By the time I was 50 something it was getting to the point I didn't have enough hair left to pull that off gracefully and I wasn't about to be one of those folks I had seen with all 4 strands of remaining hair in a pony tail. So in the summer of '04 I cut it off. Then began my quest for a barber. I am impatient about some things and standing/sitting in line is one of them. I usually have help on Fridays so I can leave work and get a haircut and grab lunch. Being able to go when others are at work lessens the wait. I tried several places near work, moving further away each time and could not find anyone who understood what I wanted. I don't speak Spanish and that was a problem quite often too. Then a customer said he had been going to a Great Clips near him for several years and he was happy. So I saw one near my apt. and even though it was a bit of a drive from work it also gave me an excuse to grab Chipotle for lunch. :-) I have been going there for about 3 years now. I usually have Tammie cut my hair but it's not a big deal to have one of the other women do it, most of them have been there the whole time I have been going there. I have only had one bad haircut and that stylist was not only grumpy I never saw her there again. Location note: Great Clips says it is 59 Ave at Thunderbird. I've been going to Great Clips for all my haircut needs for the last 9 years since the fohawk debacle of 2009 at Sport Clips. I won't go into much detail there... Since then, I've mostly requested buzzcuts because it's easy to maintain and I've grown to like the look. June 30 was the first time since I've been a customer at Great Clips where a stylist has been engaging and enthusiastic. Generally the stylists who have cut my hair tend to be stoic or behave as if they are just counting down the clock until the end of their shift. Megan was the exception. She genuinely seemed to enjoy her job and wanted to know about my hopes, fears, and dreams. Okay, that last part was made up, but you get my point. She exuded this positive energy and had me leaving the salon feeling happier than when I walked in. I will definitely be coming in to this location for as long as she is here! read more

This place gave me the worst haircut ever, that I might as well of cut my own hair! I came in, and asked for a trim, but to KEEP my bangs. Everything is going good, until the hair stylist CUTS MY BANGS EVEN AFTER I SAID NOT TO! And when I said I wanted to keep my bangs, she (rudely) responded saying "Well you should of been more specific!" But I was pretty clear that I wanted to keep the top and bangs the same length. Instead it's all butchered! I look like a pineapple! RIDICULOUS!!! Never go here unless you wanted to be treated like garbage and given a garbage haircut! Might as well have Britney Spears do my haircut, at least maybe she'll listen! The saddest part is I've been here before, and they usually give me good haircuts, but guess not anymore. read more

Horrible experience! Took my son in for a haircut and the stylist literally shaved his whole head. Not only did she confirm with me before the cut that it was supposed to be finger length on top with a #2 faded to #1. The history of his cuts every 4-6 weeks is essentially the same for years. My son is devastated and inconsolable. He held back tears while he had no choice but to endure the rest of the session. I feel like he was violated. All she could do was make excuses for herself . Never once did she apologize or even admit that she simply misunderstood and made a mistake. My son, although only 9, has demonstrated numerous times that he can effectively communicate the cut he wants . I know it will grow in after a few weeks, but I'm livid ! I don't understand how she could have been so careless . read more

Got my hair cut here 3 times this year. It's always looked good and the staff is nice. Even when they are busy they get you out fast.

The staff is always helpful and friendly when I go there and take my son for his cuts. They have my preferences saved in the computer which is nice. I might want to check-in online next time though b/c it was pretty busy the last time I went in, but it was only about a 20 minute wait. They're also very patient w/my son b/c he gets fidgety when his neck is done w/the buzz cutter. read more

This is one of the worst salons I have ever been to. I asked for a trim and my hair was butchered like a pig. I told the stylist if you will even call her that, Elita, that she was taking off too much and she gave me massive attitude. After I said she was taking off too much hair again she continued to brutalize my hair and head. She started scrunching my hair hard and pulling it while cutting it. She charged for a hair washing when I said I didn't want my hair washed and she "wet it down" in the sink. While wetting it down she just blasted hot water onto my head and when I told her it was hot she said it wasn't hurting her hands and I would be fine. I had water dripping out my ears and asked for a towel several times which was completely ignored. Then when I checked out she told me to make sure I tipped her. I have never been treated so horrible in my life. read more
