Just learned about this place online and literally drove down the street to get there. I was checked in immediately. Waited about 2 minutes and got taken back by Nancy for a wash and a cut. She cut off about 5 inches, layers/face framing. I wasn't there more than 30 minutes. She did a great job. I had to blow dry at home which was fine for me. I would come back. Great service. FYI this is not a high end salon so if that's what you're looking for, this is not the place for you. read more

It takes a lot for me to leave reviews but this experience certainly deserves one. I have been coming here for several years without any issues. Angela cut my hair today and I asked her for a medium fade which she chopped up; she did a low fade with no fade at all. All you could see was the clear as day crooked line between the sections where the fade should have been. I asked her to fix it and she attempted to do so but made it worse. I pointed out how it still looked awful and her reply was, "I have already given you two haircuts. I've spent as much time as I can on you." Mind you there were no other clients waiting at 9:40 am on a Monday. I told her I shouldn't be expected to walk out with a horrible haircut and she said "this is the fast food of haircuts. This is what you get". When I refused to accept that, she told her partner "Tom" to fix it, stating "I am done with him." Luckily, Tom, who clearly knew how to actually do a fade, stepped in and fixed it. As I was paying, another client walked in asking for a specific hairstylist and he decided to leave after Angela was rude to him. Maybe Angela was just having a bad day but if you're the owner of this business, you should be aware of how she is treating your customers. Angela deserves zero stars. Tom deserves five! read more

It really depends on who you get here. I've had several good experiences, however I've also had bad experiences like what is pictured here. It's tough. Avoid...unless you like being humiliated. The hair stylist / front desk lady who acts like she runs this place is very rude,will not let you speak if you try to tell her what you want to do with your hair.She acts like what you have to say ,does not matter. Well in less than a year since my last review, this place has gone way down hill. Paying $19 for a shotty haircut is ridiculous, I would and will continue to wait for an appointment with my local barber and pay $35 for a haircut that not only looks good but was done with care. I have given this Great Clips 3 chances since my last review about 11 months ago because that time, my haircut came out great. Since then, each and every barber I have had has not only rushed my haircut (even when it wasn't busy) but has made my hair sloppy, uneven, and just poor workmanship. Yes I understand that when it's busy they want to pump out customers to bring in the next and not have to wait. My mom and I were both off today, (MLK Holiday), and decided it was a good time to get a trim. We stopped in at around 10:20am. At that time, there were 2 people in front of us and the wait was around 30 minutes. They ended up calling us around 20 minutes, which was excellent. Elizabeth did my mom's hair, and Imani did my hair. Both stylists were super pleasent and very helpful. They did an excellent job in our cuts, and was so friendly. The best thing was how hard working and positive they both were. I thought it was pretty busy when we were there, (people started to come in for hair cuts), and the phone rang quite a few times. Between them 2, they greeted and were helpful to each person that came in. They thouroughly checked everyone's vaccination status and ensured everyone was wearing masks. They both also took turns answering the phone whenever it rang. It's nice to see how positive and hard working they were, and what an extremely thourough and good job they did on everyone's cuts. I'll defenitely continue to come back. A big thank you to Imani and Elizabeth. My mom and I loved our cuts. God bless both of you ladies. :) read more

I should have carefully read all the reviews before venturing to get a trim at this location. I am a hair stylist myself but unfortunately I can't cut my own hair. Since I worked for Great Clips in Northern Ca and I know the awesome training this company provides for its employees. I assumed and trusted that I was in good hands. How wrong I was! The level of this haircut is worse than what someone would expect from a beauty school student. The pictures describe best the horrible experience I had. My disappointment is so great that I took the time to actually write a review. The lady who cut my hair said that she had worked at this location 7 years ago, and came back 2 months ago. Noticing afterwards from the reviews another unhappy customer over 5 years ago wrote, it is very likely that is the same stylist who cut my hair (even though her name is very common, Maria)because she describes her hair as uneven, some strands of hair don't match with the layers and being the worst haircut experience of her life. Which is exactly my experience as well. If thats the case, it is even more disappointing that nothing was apparently done to help that lady master the basic hair cutting skills, or it can be that some people just don't take feedback as a learning opportunity and hence don't make the changes. I briefly mentioned to her my un satisfaction but excuses were made. When you don't hear a sorry at least to acknowledge your feelings is a big sign that someone will not own their mistakes. I am not a person who likes to argue and I was so sad and frustrated that I just wanted to get out of there. I even tipped her for having shampooed my hair, thats how naive I was not fully realizing how badly she left my hair:((( Sadly my layers are very short and uneven that I will just have to be very patient and wait until it grows back. The least I would expect from a company that strives to make "customers feel at home" is my money back, to compensate for all the clips I had to buy to hold my choppy layers in place while they grow, but again I expected a great trim and it didn't happen. read more

I preface my review that this is solely based on my most recent experience with this location. Up until then every person cuts wonderfully and the customer service is great. However, my most recent experience was just a little frustrating. I am a guy with not short hair, by any means. The person who cut my hair, and I won't use this person again, was very nice. However here are my issues: * Clippers were very rough, seemed like they needed sharpening * Lines were a little crooked * She didn't let me know that a large section of my long hair had been cut. I found out when I left and went to fix my hair again that a clump of my hair came out with it. Not Cool! read more

If I can give this establishment a zero, I would. First of all, the stylist named "Rose" (she was asked her name twice before she answered) did not cut my boyfriend's hair right. He had to go back and ask to speak to the manager because she had left a patch of hair in the back. The manager agreed that there was a patch of hair left, and would be happy to fix it, but then said: "to be honest it is evenly cut/blended in, this is how we normally do it." so, she's suggesting that leaving a patch of hair is normal. Worst haircut of my life. The woman helping kept making rude comments about the state of my hair (as if that's not exactly why someone would want a haircut), calling the dye job blotchy and telling me my hair is super dry (which is fine but still kinda rude) and when I showed her the haircut I wanted, she argued with me about whether or not it would work because it needed styling to achieve. After convincing her that yes, I can in fact style my hair, she then gave me the most botched haircut I've ever received. Even my self prescribed covid cuts were better than this. The layers were uneven and chunky, it didn't look anything like the reference, and it looked god awful. After cutting, she put a bunch of product in my hair and started crunching my hair. This would normally be fine, but I had just bleached it and wanted the dry ends cut off so putting dry crunchy product in extremely dry fried hair is a no no. I was literally crying in my car when I went home because the haircut came out so ugly. I then I to re-cut my own hair to make it so I felt comfortable going out again. Like, that's not an exaggeration, I didn't feel comfortable even going outside because my hair was so atrocious. Not a great hair salon when you cry over the results, get insulted by your hairstylist, then have to recut your hair yourself after your stylist makes you feel too ugly to go outside, a problem I didn't have walking in. read more

Worst service. They don't offer every race the same level of service. You walk in and there's no warm welcoming or friendly greeting with a smile. Their approach to confirm your reservation is a very cut and dry process with a mix of sarcasm. And they are very stingy with sharing their Wifi with customers which makes absolutely no sense considering the employees their are supposed to be cutting hair, so if they are busy cutting hair what possible difference does it make if your customers use your wifi for the short time they are there? read more

I usually get my hair cut at salons where the cost is $40. I thought that was too much just to keep my hair healthy, so I came to Great Clips. All I asked for was to take 1 inch off. The hair stylist was on the phone while cutting my hair. My hair had no style. I'd rather spend $40 where they do that for you. Regardless, I was in and out. They did what I asked. I've gotten my hair cut here twice, both times before an important wedding. Talk about taking my chances! Fortunately, I've been happy with the results both times. I get a decent cut in half the amount of time it takes at the more "budget" barbershops I typically go to. They also pay attention and take care of the stupid cowlick in the back of my head without me having to point it out. The haircuts here are a good combination of quality, budget and speed. Unfortunately on my last visit, the wait time was a bit long, since there were four guys in line ahead of me and only two barbers. A men's haircut is $16, but the current Yelp check-in deal gets you $2 off any haircut. Alternatively, they're selling a limited amount of prepaid cards that let you purchase haircuts in advance for $10. Makes for a practical gift this holiday season! read more

The wait time here is not too bad, and i love that you can get a $2 discount if you check in on yelp. I've tried fancy salons and they always mess up my bangs. I am likely the worst haircut customer due to my inability to describe what I am looking for; most of it consists of what looks like a game of Guesstures. Anyway, I forgot her first name, but the kind Armenian stylist there is excellent. As my last haircut was self-inflicted, it had grown out horribly. She cleaned up my cut and was able to keep the length, added some lovely layers that turned out far better than I described, and finally made my hair look put-together and wearable. She is also an excellent hairwasher too, none of this apathetic weak washing but actually made my scalp more invigorated and my headache disappear. This particular Great Clips also had a special going - I think my cut was $9ish, and they took me as a walk in on a Saturday. read more

6 month ago review: This Great Clips place is my first place that I gave it try for my hair cut and it's great. Now I have been getting my hair cuts in most of different places that has Great Clips, but I only go to this Great Clip because it's near my university (CSUN) and they also provide you discount price ($2 off) for students only. The person that cut my hair is Anselmo and he is very chill and talkative. Even though he did made mistake of cutting my hair, but I let him know and he fix it right of way. Other than that, I would definitely come back to this place to get Updated review: After coming here for longtime, I'm starting to dislike the place and their prices. Why does it cost $19 to cut your hair here, but when I go to another Great Clips location, they charge me $15? Also I'm starting to think that people here don't know how to cut my hair. Haircut done by ARPA on my 2 year old. She tried to blame it on my son moving his head but overall he kept still the whole time. What took forever was her spending her sweet time changing heads on the clippers and it looked like she didn't even know what she was doing. Highly unsatisfied, I want a refund! Not to mention Felipe who does not know how to check in a customer, took him 10 minutes and 10 years to get our names in the system when I already checked in through the app! What a sad experience!!!
