Tuesday 12SEP23. Angelica gave me the best haircut I have had in years. I am not a high maintenance woman or I would be going to expensive salons. I simply want a good, quick, short haircut. I generally have better outcomes with male barbers who understand my desired outcome without deep conversations - help me with my weird hairline and head shape. Angelica actually listened to what I said about how my hair naturally falls, that I don't want to fight that, and that I wanted the front to remain long. Might seem really basic, but the fact that she left the front of my hair basically untouched (whereas most stylists at this location nod, pull out the electric trimmers and go to town) was AMAZING!! And she cut it to account for my two giant cowlicks that make my hair fall toward the front of my face. Went home and played with the cut in the mirror for a good 10 minutes to see all the ways it would look good. Thank you Angelica!!! You made my month!! read more

I've been a long time customer of this salon. The stylist who had been cutting my hair for roughly 7 years retired, so I had to find a new stylist there who I thought would do a good job. Sadly, I chose poorly and the stylist gave me a cut that is just now, over two months later, somewhat manageable. I always believed that the difference between a good or a bad haircut was two weeks. I no longer believe this as it has been two months of aggravation just trying to make my hair look somewhat the same on both sides of my head! Have never had my hair cut this poorly and I'm over 60, my hair has been cut by many different stylists! read more

I always go to great clips in Odenton and have Ashley cut my hair and she rocks! I usually get a little Trim, layers added in, nothing drastic until today. I went all out and got a pixie cut. What pleasant experience today. I was lucky and the wait was short. I know this is not always true...it's just the nature of the business. Today, however, there was very little wait time. The new manager cut my hair. She was engaging, made me feel important, and let me know she is concerned with their past reviews and is on a mission to improve them. And most important she gives and amazing haircut. I consistently get compliments each and every time after I get my hair cut with her! Why did I go here after the crap haircut my husband received in December of 2017???? Well I guess it's what I deserve. The cherry on top of the second worst haircut of my life (worst goes to boot camp haircut), the store manager, Anjelica, defended the stylist's work! Came here with my partner - I had a good experience, he did not. I had a quick cleanup on the sides and back. My haircut was quick and turned out really nice. Partner was left in the chair mid-haircut for ten minutes while the hairdresser tended to a customer at the register who had a payment problem. A self-winding timer, like the one for eggs, ticked at her station as he sat like a hostage. It was disrespectful and bad customer service as she plainly apologized and quickly finished his hair in less than two minutes - racing to beat the 15 min. egg timer. Results will likely vary here. UPDATE: we didn't realize just how bad his haircut was until a few days later. The hairline on the back of his head was uneven and WAY too high up. It looks like he hacked it himself in the bathroom. He broke out in parts where the hairdresser shaved his hair to the skin. read more

Worst haircut I have ever had. I am more upset with myself for not following my instinct which was to walk out and drive away as soon as I stepped in. I have been to dozens of great clips and have never had a problem. The language barrier was an issue and even after repeating what I was looking for a half a dozen times...she still got it wrong. The sheers were dull and tore at my scalp. Luckily, my hair is short and it should grow out enough in a month to cover this debacle. I guess that is what hats are for. read more

I walked into this place expecting to get a hair cut. There where 4 stylist in the building and they all looked the other way. The technician told me they didn't have irons strong enough for my hair and I said, "what do you mean my hair can straighten just like yours". One technician said, "they don't have stoves" and again I said, "who need a stove my hair can straighten with regular blow drying". All I could do was smh and walk out because they actually didn't even want to try. So to all my African American sisters in the Odenton, MD area, do not visit Great Clips at this location if you have natural hair because they "DON'T HAVE A STOVE". read more

They totally messed up my hair. Be careful when you read reviews. There are people that go there long hair and little trim (my 4 year old can do that) but doesn't mean that they are the best. My hair were cut so wrong that it took close to two weeks to be able to go adjust them to a real hairdresser. I mean how in earth can't see what you doing. It's cheap but "hello" I want a hair cut for that price at least. We live in the neighborhood, so my daughter (5 yrs old) and I started coming here (in August) just out of convenience. We went again yesterday because they were offering free haircuts for military on Veteran's day and their service was just as good as the first time. Both times we just walked in, no appointment and got seated right away. Three different women have cut our hair here, but it has always come out just the way I ask, and they are all so very friendly, especially to my very sociable 5 yr old. My mom always goes back to this place for Maha, i hear she is great. I went there yesterday on a monday close to closing and was able to get a cut immediately. The lady who cut my hair was nice but quiet which made me worry a bit because I wasn't sure if she really understood what kind of cut I wanted. She didn't ask me much either. I went home and realized she literally gave 1 long layer when i asked for layers, and the one layer she did give me was uneven because I was able to see a ridiculous uneven angle in the front. I lived only 5 minutes away so I went back and asked her to fix it. This was the only reason I knocked a star off. Otherwise I got a good haircut in the end at an affordable price so I am happy! read more

Never again. Just left Great Clips and I am thoroughly disgusted. All I wanted her to do was trim the ends in the back, and even it out, and put long feathered bangs in the front. After she pulled my hair into a ponytail and started cutting, I stopped her and told her it was supposed to be straight across the back. She said oh OK. Then proceeded to completely ignore the front. I asked her if she heard that I wanted bangs put in, and she said yes. And proceeded to leave my hair hanging past my chin. When she reached for the blow dryer, I stopped her and said no, I wanted bangs put in the front. She said she did. She took zero off the front, which was long enough to reach my collarbone. I told her no, she did not. I want bangs put in the front and showed her exactly how long I wanted them. She then said no that's too long and was going to cut them at the eyebrow level, instead of at the nose level where I wanted them. It is my hair, and I want to cut how I want it. As she measured out the hair to cut the length she wanted, I got so disgusted I got up out of the chair. Yes, I'd be grudgingly paid, but I will never, ever go back there again. I will stop anybody I know from ever going there again. I am now going to a beauty salon that knows how to cut hair and repair the damage she did to my hair. It looks like a two-year-old cut my hair. Thank you, not-so-Great Clips. You do not deserve even the 1 star. read more
