I'm very spoiled because 2 of my daughters do hair professionally, and it was hard for me to find a good salon after moving 3 hours away from them to Austin, and then Hutto. Maxi is excellent at color, cuts and did a great Brazilian Blow out; and my hair looks and feels wonderful. The prices are very reasonable and actually much less than what I paid in Dallas. She gives you exactly what you ask for and is experienced enough to let you know if your request would damage your hair or not. They are a family salon and have a very good atmosphere. The stylist had done my daughter's hair before, so I didn't expect any issues. As soon as we arrived, she asked, "Who booked this appointment for you?" I told her I booked it online. She immediately began telling me that my daughter had "too much hair" for the service I selected and said that the service was for their "white customers." She told me I should have booked a Signature Blowout instead and that I should have called the salon rather than booking online. I understand that textured hair services may require additional time, and the salon does have a separate section for textured hair services. However, a wash, blow dry, and haircut is not listed under that section, so I booked the haircut service exactly as it appeared online. There was nothing during the booking process indicating that this service was limited to certain hair types or that it wasn't appropriate for my daughter. The stylist then said she could "try to do something" with my daughter's hair but wouldn't have enough time. By that point, I was uncomfortable with both her comments and the way she spoke to me. I told her not to worry about it because I no longer wanted her servicing my daughter, and we left. If the salon has different requirements based on hair type, texture, or length, that should be clearly explained in the online booking system. More importantly, those conversations should be handled professionally and respectfully. Unfortunately, this experience made us feel unwelcome, and I won't be returning.

We were a walkin and normally she schedules an appointment ahead of time but didn't this time. I understand that the inside of the location is very overwhelming, and all to look at and be disrespected with. Plus at the end of your haircut you get to get a prize "sticker". The hairstylist fake eyelashes were so long and thick maybe that is why the hair cuts came out messed up because she can't see? When you are given this form of service it is hard to leave a tip.
