Not impressed with the customer service. My hairstylist kept leaving to answer the phone and check people in. Apparently the client in her chair (me) wasn't nearly as important as the person on the phone. Her tone was condescending while telling me I had to come in every 2 months or less or my hair would continue to look "look the way it did." She trimmed my hair and collected my money in under 5 minutes. Trim was straight. But really, less than 5 minutes and she couldn't let someone not with a client answer the phone? read more

Great place for a fast haircut! While there wasn't very many people there the day I went, the workers there do a very basic job while the environment could use a little help. If you are in a rush using the great clips app can be very helpful and fast! All in all, the environment is very bland, while the workers could be a little more energetic. read more

I have a coupon I got at my gym that says "valid at all Reno, Sparks, and Carson City locations." Yet I got grief for having the coupon. The lady said they didn't hand out the coupon and next time I should use it at a location close to where I acquired the coupon.. To me, a coupon is a coupon no matter where you got it. I've been going here for many years and have used at least 10 stylists. The haircuts have ranged from acceptable to excellent. I've never had a bad cut here., Pricing is very reasonable and with the online check-in I rarely wait longer than 5 minutes to get into a stylist's chair. Recommended! read more

So I just left after getting my hair cut. Once again I am saying never again. During my short haircut the stylist (?) Left me 4 times to check in people. Each time when she returned, I am sure she had no idea where she left off. The push to sell "professional" product didn't work and there was a marked change in attitude when I refused to get sucked in. I will pay more next time to get a more professional treatment. read more

I usually go here to get my hair cut every two weeks, they don't do the best job compared to a barber shop, but it's quick and easy, and the girls there usually do an ok job. Yesterday I went in and they had a whole new crew, a bunch of older woman I have never seen before. I didn't grab the name of the woman that cut my hair as I was so furious with the horrible job she did, and promptly left. This was easily the worst haircut I've ever received. I'm simple, simple fade with a trim on top and she completely screwed it up. She put no effort into it, and seemed lost the entire 5 min it's took her to trash my hair. She didn't even do my neck line. I knew from the start of the haircut that this was going to be a botched job, her body language and lack of routine made it very apparent. This was the deal breaker for me as far as ever going to one of these sorry ass places for a haircut, the convenience of saving time is just not worth the lack of know how in these establishments. Do not, I repeat, do not get your hair cut here if you value the way you look. You will not be happy with what you receive. Makes me wonder if they even check for credentials upon hiring. I started going to this location about 6 months ago from the Sparks locations. Jenn the manager is fantastic and has really turned this place around for the better. It shows too because every time I go in there for a haircut it is packed so I always check in on the app prior to going. The employees have been consistent because I leave with exactly the same haircut as last time, which is how I like it. I will definitely continue to go to this location every month and no where else. read more

I often go here for haircuts since it's close to my office. Between haircuts I get a trim, which is an affordable $6 rather than $14 for a haircut. Last time I went I asked for a trim, said I just wanted the neck and ears cleaned up. I repeated this when asked weather or not I wanted the top cut, stated I just wanted the trim, not a full haircut. I guess at the beginning. The woman still had the gall to charge me for a full haircut at the end of it. I guess she "cleared out bulk." I don't know how in which ways this was different than my usual trim, but they really don't care about listening to you here. I should have asked to be re-seated and given the full haircut I was forced to pay for, but there were people waiting and now I look like a hipster. read more

I have waited an entire month before doing this, but alas, here we are. I came in on a Sunday...they were very busy. Unfortunately I'm not a expert at Great Clips, so I didn't really know what the procedure was. The woman who 'greeted' me wasn't very nice, helpful or polite. She asked if I had checked in on-line, I said no. She informed me it would be a half an hour wait. I said okay and started to sit down...she just kind of looked at me like I was stupid. Then huffily took my info. I honestly didn't mind waiting. Unfortunately for me, I have a disease, it's called bi-polar disorder. I was in the middle of a very bad period after 10 years of being well. I was barely functioning. I try not to go out when I feel bad, just because of things like this. I was certainly annoyed at point, but I was never rude verbally, or nasty. I'm tired of going into places like this and before you even swing the door open they are telling you about how long the wait is as if they want you to leave. Another very unfortunate thing? She was my stylist. She faked nice her way through hacking my hair off. It wasn't in the best shape and definitely needed trimming but I NEVER ASKED HER TO HACK MY HAIR OFF. I said, REPEATEDLY, leave the length. This was one of the worst times in my life, and she held a grudge, then took it out on my hair. My hair was one of the few things I still had...she took it. IF YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE PUBLIC AT LARGE GET THE HELL OUT OF THE CUSTOMER SERVICE BUSINESS. With the jobs like this you get all kinds of people...sometimes people are going through bad things and guess what? It has nothing to do with YOU. Not only did she hack my hair off, but she did a crappy job at hacking it off. Completely chunky and uneven. Then when I looked in horror, she says to 'wear it up'. I didn't come in there so I could leave having to wear my hair up. Guess what? I tipped you anyways...because I try to be a good person. Oh...and btw, it was the woman with blonde hair and had it in a short French-braid down the back. I'm disgusted with her and I will NEVER go to a Great Clips EVER AGAIN. read more

I would advise you to either splurge and go to a salon or find another great clips in the area... The staff here are adequately polite but when it comes to cutting hair, they're pretty awful. One time I went in to have my bangs cut STRAIGHT ACROSS and they came out lopsided and assymetrical. I do not know how you mess that up. Another time, which pretty much traumatized me, I went in for a trim because my hair was really damaged (it was shoulder length at the time) and walked out with a boy short mullet hair cut. I explicitly said I wanted no more than an inch off the ends and clearly that didn't really make sense to this lady. I go to metamorphosis across the way... It's a little more pricey but if you don't want a mullet you'll be glad you spent the extra cash. read more

I am a regular customer of Amy, and she always does a great job! Last time I went in Amy wasn't there, since I was leaving for out of town that day I couldn't come back, so had to get my hair cut by another girl. Amanda was the one who did my hair cut this time, and I was very pleased with her as well.
